John Barrowman confirmed to have left the Arrowverse. Which is very sad but I think the character kind of ran out of plots and has exited on a high note.

So I realized I had not finished Supergirl Season 1 and I'm binge watching it now and I gotta say the show really gets so much better. I love Melissa as Supergirl a ton as every episode goes by. PS: I have the hots for Winn, he is so cute lol. I really like all the characters overall except James and Lucy, those two are over the top corny.

I missed almost all the shows this season and I've been catching up on Netflix. I've watched up to the cross-over on all of them and finished Legends and Arrow. Legends was definitely a step up -- the first season had it's fun moments, but the Hawkpeople/Vandal Savage plot was pretty bland. This season definitely stepped it up with better villains and a lot of fun plots/hooks. I mean, who can go wrong with Confederate zombies? And Arrow...man, season 3 was all over the place and season 4 was just...just fucking awful. But five was definitely a return to form. And Jesus that cliffhanger! The only thing I was kind of "eh" about them is them continually trying to make Olicity happen. Just...just don't. Please. Green Arrow/Black Canary or GTFO. I wasn't really feeling Flash or Supergirl too much, but I'll finish them shortly.

So I finished season 1 of Supergirl and I have to say I really love the show overall now then how it began. Im really engaged with most of the characters now, they even managed to make me like Lucy and Maxwell at the very end of it. I still only dislike James, he's a photographer and we rarely ever see him do that. The fact that their idea of a story is that he feels useless is just dumb too, cuz its like the writers admitting, we really don't know where to take him or what to make him do, so lets portray that feeling on the character.
Still, really excited to start season 2. Im also slowly catching up on the last Flash one and man this season of this one is so weak so far, its my least favorite from the 4 at the moment now specifically on this season. And its a shame though, cuz I loved Flash with Supergirl on her show. But I just can't help but feel he shines way more when he is not on his show.

The thing with Supergirl is that it's one of those shows where the main character just isn't as interesting as the others -- especially Alex. I would much rather watch The Alex Danvers Show, TBH. And Scottphoto, if you think they didn't know what to do with James in season one, oh wait until you get into season two...

I watched the first few episodes of Legends of tomorrow and I'm not sure about it yet. I like the concept of the show but I haven't really connected with any of the characters yet. I'm going to keep going as I want to give it a chance but it's not somthing that I so far feel that I need to binge.

I'll probably put it on in the background while working at some stage to get through it faster.

To be honest (and im probably very minority lol) its been hard for me to watch season 2, Im not feeling the cast this season. But its also because two of my favorites are no longer on it, although they make appearances later I read. I also feel its lacking a center plot at the moment although its starting to get there now. So will see if I get more into it. My 2 favorites: Rip Hunter and Captain Cold New san diego comic con trailers for the shows are up now for each show. Some feature a lot of new clips others not much: m.youtube.com/channel/UCPWQWav6BpPvtanCtloXkiw

Yeah, it doesn't have as much of those two, true, but it had even less fucking Hawkpeople and no Vandal Savage, which made it so much better. I mean, I LIKE those characters in the comics, but they just flopped. Every time all three characters got on screen, it's like every character was just beaten over the head with the Stupid Stick before being pushed onto camera.

Watched more of the 1st season but I'm still not finished. Gotta say though I'm really disappointed in the characterization of Vandal Savage.
I haven't read a lot of his stories but I always loved him in Villains United/Secret Six and his interactions with his daughter Scandal. I've also read Demon Knights, Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne and a few other stories.
He doesn't feel right in Legends of Tomorrow, I can't put my finger on what isn't working for me though cos I haven't seen enough, but maybe that is the issue. I've seen him a number of times in the show now and still don't have a good grip on his character beyond 'wants to take over the world'.

Btw did you know Hawkgirl was a barista? Hahaha. I thought of her every time Cora went "I was an asari huntress" in Andromeda. Savage was pretty bad, after seeing a couple of animated films and shows with him, man was he bad. Hawkman was awful in every way, Hawkgirl at least tried to be charming but man he had nothing.

Yeah, I get the feeling that there was a reason why they killed him off early...
And I can kind of see that comparison, but I don't think Cora harped on it NEARLY as much, and from what I remember Cora filled out her outfit better. It's shallow, I know, but it's a plus.

I'm late to the party I know but I just discovered that the Lena Luthor Supergirl ship is called Supercorp. Magical!

So Supergirl is back and that last episode with Maggie's Dad was amazing. It is a pity Floriana Lima is leaving the show so I know sanvers is coming to an end.

Not sure if anyone else on the forum is still watching Arrowverse shows but I finally got into Legends of Tomorrow and binged the whole thing over Christmas and New Year. JayKay you were 100% right - it gets so much better in season 2 and I loved the first half of season 3. Still haven't bothered with Arrow or Flash though. I decided to start watching Legends of Tomorrow again after the Crisis on Earth X event cos I really liked Sara Lance and what I saw of the other Legends but the Arrow & Flash characters didn't really connect with me during it. Really looking forward to Black lightning which I know is not technically an Arrowverse show, but they said that about Supergirl when it first launched so who knows what will happen. I'm dying to see what happens in Supergirl next week, that last episode had me on the edge of my seat, with the exception of the Midvale episode and the writers weird obsession with making Lena & James hook up to give James somthing to do this season, season 3 has been great so far.

With Arrow you can see more of Sara Lance's beginnings. You can just watch Arrow's first two seasons then skip the rest lol and just look for the individual Sara episodes on other seasons. I still need to catch up on the latest seasons.

I still need to catch up on the latest seasons. I'm tempted to do just that. I just can't stand the Batman version of Green Arrow they decided to go with for the Arrowverse. Green Arrow comics had their dark moments sure, there is a entire storyline about Roy Harper's (Speedy, then later Arsenal) battle with drug addiction, but he has always been very good humoured and very socially conscious, being the left wing voice of DC. There was even a point were he lost his fortune and became a streetwise crusader for the working class and the disadvantaged, in a similar vein to 'the Movement' (only decades before them). Maybe there is more of that in his actual show than in the cross overs. Saw this on tumblr and wanted to share - the scenes are from last night's episode of Supergirl. In spoiler tags cos they are big and contain scenes from show, but nothing you wouldn't have seen in a promo.

Honestly I'm bored after watching all (lol) episodes of Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, they play too safe in my opinion, just more of the same all the time, and that forced silly humor especially in Legends is embarrassing most of the times, I'm thinking of skipping it all this year..
