Seriously it is hard to not be bitter about Anthem. It would be one thing if Anthem was a side project like it deserved to be but to be the main focus while everything single player is sidelined /in development hell. It's just rage inducing. I mean, BioWare DOES have roots in the multiplayer genre, from back in their early days in the 90s, but Anthem itself really feels like EA pushing either this game, or, at the minimum, this overwhelming focus on it on them. Legit, Anthem seems like the kind of game that a subsidiary studio like BioWare Montreal should have gotten, while Mass Effect Andromeda, the follow up to the massively popular RPG trilogy and launching point for the continuation of this franchise, should have stayed at BioWare Edmonton. That these things were swapped around feels like it wasn't BioWare calling the shots, it was EA wanting the best effort put forth on a game that could combat the competition in the multiplayer market, because that is a perpetual source of revenue, while all a single-player RPG with multiplayer side content could reliably count on is a year-long DLC cycle. I have wondered for a while now why the 1 year cycle is the most they can do? Does sales really go down that fast after a year, or is it possible they just haven't found the right dlc marketing stick...cuase honestly I feel like dlc doesn't get marketed at all really.

Does sales really go down that fast after a year, or is it possible they just haven't found the right dlc marketing stick...cuase honestly I feel like dlc doesn't get marketed at all really. I think it's got something to do with a combination of early hardware limitations (a tidbit that's rattling around in my brain is that the Xbox 360 capped out the 'gamer score' with its achievements at like 1750 points, with base games only having scores of 1000, so they couldn't exceed that with DLC), and probably the fact that if they spend so much time on DLC, it eats into development for other, newer games, with a cost-benefit of 'why are we pouring money and time into ten dollar DLCs that are a case of diminishing returns instead of a new sixty dollar game?' So the year long DLC cycle works for the industry, particularly with these franchise games, where while the prep work is done for the next game in a series, the DLC can be built and published and it manages to keep the franchise in people's minds while still building anticipation for future games.

Anthem just doesn't excite me at all. I feel like BioWare is trying to appeal to Bungie's fans, but are alienating their own in the process. It's also hard not to feel bitter towards Anthem for, allegedly, stealing resources from Andromeda's development. As I've said elsewhere, I'll be enjoying Cyberpunk 2077 rather than this MP with a touch of SP that is Anthem. However, given that this is Kaidan's thread:

So I did play a fair bit of the me1 patch/mod for Kaidan on PC but I couldnt finish it cuz i hated my shepard look lol. Im debating if to try again from me1 or if I should jump straight to me3 and check it out first the original way and then try the mod way. Is there big differences in a modded me3 acknowledging the romance on me1 or nah?

You really miss out on a lot of very sweet moments where Kaidan talks about how much he cares about Shepard. I'd say it'd be better to start from the first game, or modify a save file for 3.

Is there big differences in a modded me3 acknowledging the romance on me1 or nah? If you have time you could do ME1-ME2-ME3 without mods and try the slowburn, it's cute but ME2 is a heteronormative pain in the ass. ME1 too but at least you have Kaidan there. Or like Lee said, you could modify a save file for ME3 and going for the full romance without mods in the third game. Then try the romance again with mods in the entire trilogy. Since I saw you are playing DAO now my recommendation is to play with Rondeeno's mods In my case my first experience with Kaidan's romance was with the old s/s trick with the console command, although I used a save that I downloaded somewhere with the trick implemented. Then I played the entire trilogy again without mods to see the slowburn. Both with Sheploo. Playing the trilogy without mods was and will be a pain for me, I'm never going to do it again, that for sure. I have a new custom Shep that will be my new canon and I want to do it with Rondeeno's mods in the future! I cant wait to see the content that homophobic ME team denied us.

Then use Gibbed's save game editor for ME3 and retroactively have a romance with Kaidan in existence. The mod is necessary because otherwise on their date at Apollo's they will forget their romance. The mod prevents that from happening, as well as adding some other nice touches.

Andromeda got shit for their cc, but it's the best of the 4 games by far.

I might stick to sheploo then, cuz I can't for the life of me do a good custom shepard in Me1 lol. It takes some work. I can make a good Shepard in each individual game but they don't import as well. Change of hair color is annoying when I make some cute ginger whose hair continually darkens - or, worse, the beard turns black as the hair becomes brown. So, yes, Sheploo is my most common Shepard.

They crafted me a perfect Ryder already with head 10. All hail the ginger god Ryder.

It's not that I actually ''need'' them, but some of them improve facial texture even better, also unofficial patch is a life safer for me, it fixes most if not all quest bugs I had. Also: sexy nude mods for Ryder and not only for him

Sadly importing full meshes is not possible (yet), but there are some texture pens lol, it looks little weird, but butt looks so damn sexy, also moles and freckles for all presets including whole body for our sexy ginger preset 10 too

@lukensen Ah okay, well #FreetheDongs the struggle goes on! Here's hoping it'll come to pass someday. maybe I'll have a good pc by then! the only thing that annoys me are the fucking wrinkles, like why? I get you have some when you smile but not when you face is tired biowhut... Yeah, the facial animation wrinkles are possibly realistic in some ways-but it's exaggerated too much for the animated style of the characters themselves.
