Wow. Never saw this before. Good to know that's there's still more Kaidan hotness out there waiting to be uncovered. There were pics on the OLD OLD BioWare Social Network but when that went down earlier this years all those pics vanished.  |

I had to stop by and show some Kaidan love.
I didn't romance Kaidan at all until fairly recently, but I have always liked the character. I never understand the "Boring" complaint about Kaidan. Okay, so he's not in the line of broken badasses that make up the majority of the companions in the ME franchise.
To that I say, so what? One of the reasons why I like Kaidan so much is because he's a pretty normal guy. Aside from the biotics, I could see Kaidan easily existing in our world. I can't say that for most of the companions through the franchise. He's a nice guy with a normal childhood that also has a bad experience from his teen years. He's also got a ton of heart and (gasp) actually asks how Shepard is holding up regardless of romance a few times in the series.
When I finally did run a Femshep that romanced Kaidan, I really enjoyed it. The romance in ME1 was really good. I'm not a big fan of the Horizon scene with the VR survior, but Kaidan's email in ME2 if you're romancing him is more in character and a lot sweeter. I found it wortwhile to stick with the romance throughout the trilogy. Out of all of the little romance moments I've had in ME3 with various characters (Garrus/Liara/Kaidan), his is probably the cutest out of the bunch.
I'll be honest: Garrus is always going to be my #1 romance, but Kaidan has become my #2. I don't find him boring or bland, romance or not. If I wanted to romance a 2D character that bores me to tears, I'd romance Jacob.

I should have brought a sweater."). Yet, he still talks about not holding back anymore (because of how he accidentally killed that asshole turian as a teenager). As has been pointed out somewhere, he can Reave, an ability that even surprised Liara and Jacob. Then there's the fact that he was made the second human Spectre. To me, that means he's willing to do "whatever it takes" to get the job done. They're not giving that position to just anyone. You've got to be hardcore. Even a romanced Kaidan (say, LI in ME1 and stays loyal) will pull a gun on Shepard at the end of the Cerberus attempted coup. If he's willing to shoot someone he loves, he's a badass. |
