I might just be a simple man with simple tastes but just having a female turian to romance made me happy. If there entire romance was one sentence long I would still be happy. I am still upset they killed of Nyreen so quickly in the omega dlc. I remember thinking whoamg a female turian? Are you kidding me? It partially made up the choose your color ending for me lol.

Lady Consular? Does she still post on the BSN? I have no idea, as far I know she left to get some rest from all the drama she caused, or maybe she created a new user with a different username this time lol not gonna lie I expect her return when DA4 news start to come out Do any of the devs already lurk here? Allan Schumacher knows it! I hope he sent the link to his coworkers

One of my favorite things to do during my free time is watch video reviews/analyses about my favorite games. After finding one on Fallout 3, I ended up unintentionally stumbling onto a few about Mass Effect. Watching these videos along with reading posts by dmc1001 and Lee has made me feel really nostalgic for the trilogy...and it makes me want to go through it all again despite having just recently completed all four games a few months back. I guess having that feeling lets you know just how much you love something and how deeply it has affected you. I won't be playing them again anytime soon despite having that strong urge to get lost in that world again...but I know that next time I will be playing the games on PC for the first time with the Kaidan romance mods! I am very much looking forward to it and experiencing the romance the way it should have been from the start...but I know I will also probably miss having that satisfying feeling of finally getting together in the third game!
Just listening to the soundtrack from the trilogy really takes me back to that exciting first experience. I don't think there will be anything like it ever again.

I've wanted to play the OT on pc but I really don't want to buy all that dlc again lol. Completely understand. I tend to buy on PC primarily because I love modding my games. Haven't used a console since Xbox 360. After "red rings of death" twice (what is it with Microsoft and their colorful crashes? "Blue Screen of Death" comes to mind.) I decided I was done with consoles. PC's are more versatile all around so I prefer them.

I'm not sure how many times I've played through ME2, but it's several, and I only just noticed how many interactions between Joker and EDI there are if you keep asking him how things are with in the cockpit! Gives an extra layer to their eventual relationship in ME3...

Yes, which is when you know EDI is truly alive in just about every sense of the word. She may not be organic but she related to humans, could make jokes and was willing to die for them. According to Miranda, if you bring her to the derelict Reaper, AI aren't capable of emotional attachment. It was brought up because of Legion wearing a piece of N7 armor. Legion and EDI were the ones who proved that they had, perhaps, transcended being machines and truly came alive.

Like, maybe it's just being burned back during the game's release, but there was so much hate and vitriol, I can't sit through these videos that rehash the faults of the game. So seeing a title of "The Day Mass Effect Died" just pushes me away, because I genuinely believe that Andromeda got so much criticism because everything about it was being judged and compared to how well it did (or didn't) stack up against the trilogy, which... That's comparing a single game to three of them. It's setting Andromeda up to fail. It just got so tiring, so exhausting, hearing something that I did actually legitimately enjoy get torn to shreds because of issues that didn't compromise my ability to enjoy it. I think the whole YouTube video game review/commentary brand is hard for me at this point, because... I mean, we still hear people using Mass Effect 3's endings as a punchline, five plus years on. How long is Andromeda going to be a punchline, when its crime was that EA didn't bother to even attempt damage control so they could protect Anthem?

How long is Andromeda going to be a punchline, when its crime was that EA didn't bother to even attempt damage control so they could protect Anthem? The overreaction to MEA's problems surprised me, too. It certainly had them, but reading some reactions you'd think it was such a bugged mess that it would barely boot. And the most obvious problems that there were got patched in months. I didn't watch many of those videos, because I'm well capable of forming my own opinion and well... Few gaming channels have the same priorities as I do in terms of what they want from a game. It's not the game itself that annoys me now, it's just the fact that it was so unceremoniously dropped without any DLC. I think all the BioWare games from DAO onwards have had at least one top-quality piece of DLC that has really enhanced the core game, and it really saddens me that Andromeda won't get that.

Not so problematic for me. Given that BioWare initially intended sacrifice to be the theme (Shepard and Earth), it works. Legion showed a very "human" trait by being willing to sacrifice himself to make his own race become individuals - no longer relying on numbers to exist. IIRC, a single geth program is virtually nothing. It's only when the programs unite that they are sentient. I might not have that precisely right but that's the just of it.

Just to add to my last post, the fact that Legion was willing to sacrifice showed just how "human" he was. It's the same trait EDI developed.

How long is Andromeda going to be a punchline, when its crime was that EA didn't bother to even attempt damage control so they could protect Anthem? Yeah, I mainly just watch these types of videos for entertainment long after I have already played and formed opinions on the games myself. I really enjoy listening to all the different perspectives on my favorite games, good or bad. One of my favorite things though is listening to the fond memories these gamers have of certain games and how they have been impacted by these games. (in general, not just Mass Effect.) It's always interesting when I hear that a reviewer had similar experiences to myself or played games for similar reasons. There are a lot of professional/well-made reviews, analyses, and retrospectives out there on some of my favorite games and I always enjoy stumbling on a good one and just relaxing and watching them. I don't watch them to get an opinion on whether or not I should play a game. I always play a game myself before judging. But I do agree that people overreacted on how "bad" Andromeda was and gave it pretty harsh/unfair reviews. It's a great game that just had poor marketing/development.

I'll admit I set myself up for failure with how high my expectations were for Andromeda. It isn't the worst game to come out this generation and it might have been a decent game if it wasn't mass effect but to me it was a bad mass effect game.
