So, I guess this is my first recap post for gamescom x)
-----------
XBOX CONFERENCE
UBISOFT - Assassin's Creed Origins
To see this game shown first at this conference was a very nice touch. We got a first look at this new AC at this year's E3 and it surprised me how much I liked it. And I’m not that much of a AC fan. Just the fact that it’s set on Egypt was enough to catch my full attention! It’s now one of my most anticipated games of this year and Ubisoft decided to share an exclusive CGI trailer this time around. As in, one of 7 world premiere trailers to be shown.
But damn, what an awesome trailer it was! It’s like a feast for the eyes seeing all these different elements from Ancient Egypt, like the unique environment that surrounds the setting (the palm trees, the pyramids, the desert and the Nyle so vivid), the transitions between a pharaoh’s life ruling an empire, the moment of their death and their preparation for the afterlife through mummification (which were done very well), the presence of some historical figures like Cleopatra and Ceasar was just the icing on top of the cake. And from the looks of it (and also according to some earlier gameplay footage), Bayek will actually get to interact with these people. I just cant wait for this game already!
And also, of course they had to do a giveaway of that 800$-worthy collector’s edition…
I'm still baffled towards that price tag, tho. Why would Ubisoft think this is good practise is beyond me. Like, I’d assume people would be more inclined to invest that money on something else like a new console or something between those lines. But I mean, what do I know?
BLUEHOLE – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
Seems like a fun game but I’ll probably give this game a pass since I’m not that much of a multiplayer fan. It already broke some records, tho. 8 million copies sold in just 4 months is quite impressive! Apparently they're partnering up with Microsoft to better enhance the game on the consoles (Xbox One and One X) and still maintain control of the development and creative decisions, which is something good.
FRONTIER DEVELOPMENTS - Jurassic World Evolution
A Sim-City-esque business simulation game but better? And with dinossaurs? I might like this idea.
Not that much of a Jurassic Park fan myself but the concept of this game sounds too intriguing to be ignored. I assume this must be a must for
dino COMCEPT & ARMATURE STUDIO (+ Asobo Studio) - Recore Definitive Edition
Aand we got ourselves another...
A remaster in high resolution and HDR of a game that was launched last year. Since I don’t own neither a PS4 nor an Xbox One X, I think I’ll pass this one. The graphics looked nice, tho.
-----------
3 other remasters were also announced for Disneyland Adventures, Rush and Zoo Tycoon, exclusive to Xbox One consoles.
New expansion for Halo Wars 2 entitled “Awakening the Nightmare”.
And also, Xbox Game Pass expanding to 7 other countries: Argentina, Brazil, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Turkey and UAE.
Xbox Design Lab is expanding to 20 aditional European countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.
New footage of Forza Motosport 7 was shown here too but decided not to cover it. Still too salty about their E3’s presentation to even bother hearing any related stuff about the game…
Showcasing Xbox One X yet again, because reasons.

UNDEAD LABS - State of Decay 2
State of Decay 2’s presentation was… interesting. I don’t think nothing new was announced except for when they were talking about those features they’re including in this one like deeper character progression systems, a larger open-world, co-op (among others).
MONOLIGHT PRODUCTIONS - Shadows of War.
Also a new World Premiere trailer for Shadows of War, along with the announcement for an Xbox One S 500GB/1T + SoW Bundle. Nothing new there, just that. A bit disappointed with this one, actually.
-----------
A new update for World of Tanks entitled War Stories in “True 4K”, which is already available.
New games from the Xbox Live Creators Program also had a global-ish world premiere trailer shown, which was nice. Raiders of the Broken Planet seemed fairly interesting and an episodic story-mode is planned for it as well (despite being mostly a multiplayer-based game). Strange Brigade was also one that was presented back at E3 too that looked pretty good
They also talked about quite a bit about Sea of Thieves and cross-platform play for PC and Xbox One was confirmed. It will still face quite a fearsome oponent now that Skull & Bones is confirmed to have a single-player campaign with a customizable pirate for the player!
An Xbox One S Minecraft Limited Edition Bundle, huh? The console design does look quite nice but the controller one feels a bit lazy and bright in terms of color-scheme

StudioMDHR Entertainment - Cuphead
Picture provided just for the laughs
Wasn’t expecting that one. Cuphead seems a bit more unique than the rest of the games presented in both gameplay and design (I mean, that old animation-style is so cool to look at!) and its trailer gave of a chilhood sort-of vibe that I really enjoyed seeing.
HAEMIMONTGAMES – Surviving Mars
Basically a city building similation set on Mars while surviving its hostile environments. Might check this one out for curiosity’s sake.
Jesus Christ, another World Premiere? Just how many more of these can I endure?
A new member of the Xbox family? Oh, they showed Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition again. Still feels quite lame to me. Apart from that exclusive Xbox One X Vertical Stand and the True 4K Gaming
TM thing (because the previous one wasn't true enough xD), I don't really see any major differences when compared to the normal Xbox One X. Oh well.
And I'm finished! Gonna rest a bit after doing this.
