Just 45-ish minutes until AC: Origins (according to IGN's schedule). Curious if they'll show anything new aside from that new cinematic trailer.

Kingdom Come Deliverance will be presented tomorrow, according to IGN. Another open-world RPG with a male PC. I wonder how that one's gonna be. I don't like to judge things too early, but, I'm soooooo tired of open-world rpgs. Especially ones where i can't at least choose the gender of the character. Open world games just take so long to complete. Honestly, I don't even complete them most of time. I think it took me over a year to complete the main story of the Witcher, and I still haven't done all of the dlc. And it's not just the traditional open world games that are getting tiresome. After starting Divinity Original Sin again, I'm reminded just how insanely long that game is, both because of the combat and the multiple maps that all have little secrets and puzzles and quests jammed into every corner. Which, is great, but time consuming. Even with Pillars of Eternity, I started, got about half way through, and then stopped for months before I went back. Mostly because traversing in that game is the slowest aspect. I really liked the map sizes in Tyranny. Not too big, not too small. But, then again, my one complaint about Tyranny is that it felt like not enough content, so maybe I just want something that is an impossible task for a game to complete. Small easily traversed maps with substantial content. I am tired of open world games, especially if they're filled with busy work. I'm also tired of being hand held and spoon fed in my games. Some of the most fun I've had has been with adventure games where I would be stuck trying to figure out a puzzle for hours before realizing the solution. And I don't mean sudoku puzzles or mini games, I mean "how do I sneak into the bandit fortress and take out the leader without being surrounded?" Open world necessitates map markers and journal entries telling me exactly what I need to do, because otherwise it would take days to locate the next item or objective in such huge maps. But when the map is scaled down it's easier to use the setting as part of the story and make the player explore in order to get to the next stage of the quest. Instead of heading in the direction of the map marker, even if it's unexplored map space.

Exploring pyramids too! I cri of happiness Hopefully mummies are a thing. I already saw a giant snake in one of the trailers, and that shotgun bow is crazy, so who cares about realism?

Exploring pyramids too! I cri of happiness That game looks really good. I am not normally a console player, but years ago I was really into one of the Assassins Creed games (don't remember which one). Might have to get this one if it seems well liked and kick the DH off of the big tv in the living room.

Yeah that takes me back to the Forsaken Fortess in Zelda Wind Waker, you had to rescue your sister from this prison but you had to avoid detection, and there was many routes to take, no sure one. So I would take my time deciding the best path without the game saying much of anything. I also like it in the new tomb raider games that it had both options, you can turn off or on if you want them to highlight stuff to do and where to go. I always have it off on my first run, and only put it on when Im just being completionist. But yeah these games have their open space without it being a huge world where it feels your mostly walking like if it was an MMO.

Games where I have to sneak around to avoid detection make me absolutely crazy. I'm terrible at it, don't think it's fun, and end up having to replay the same part over and over and over until I ragequit.

For me, it's more about being creative in finding a solution rather than follow the map marker, find the bandit fortress, kill everyone in sight, loot the bodies, move on.

Even Splinter Cell's last few games gave you more options to just action your way through it. For me it depends on the mood lol. Sometimes Im all good mood for stealth, other times im like screw it I got no patience for this hahhaa.

New footage, huh. I wonder what that Collector's Edition entails, for it to cost more than 100€. Source
