So some info about whos actually working on this game Paul Kirsch is on it! Narrative designer and character writer in Deadfire (Tekehu  ) PoE's Art Director - Robert Nesler Megan Stark - Senior Narrative Designer for Deadfire They apparently hired RDR2 dev responsible for world interaction and population management, so thats something. Carrie Patel (Aloths writer) seems to be busy atm on Outer Worlds. Josh Sawyer has come out and said hes not working on this game, Poor man had a near burn out after Deadfire apparently and was wracking his brain over why it sold poorly ;/ He's said hes there for advisory feedback and thats it. |

As I previously mentioned before the announcement, Obsidian is working on Pillars (I assumed this regarding the info) game as back then I did get confirmation that game contains “spore-like” creatures with few other vague descriptions of The Living Lands.
So, I did get new informations about Avowed:
- fully open world, much much larger than Skyrim (very differently “larger”, more proper word would be “denser” and “more contrasted” at the same time)
- primarily set in the The Living Lands region of Eora (not sure if it’ll go like that as explicit later on, but that was starting point)
- big focus on world-reactivity, lighting and next-gen AI systems and physics (special focus on physics with magic systems - have no clue what would that mean)
- realtime whether system (don’t have full details but fog is very important as realtime element, rivers will have specific micro physics systems regarding this)
- very advanced character creation tool (didn’t get more info)
- mod support (for now PC is/will be very dominant as creation tool, but I’ll be playable fully on Xbox)
- very large number of factions but very different approach than with Skyrim
- you’ll be able to have companions (different than Outer Worlds)
- storyset: fight against incoming threat of tyranny (independent from previous stories)
- game has bosses planned and some of them are very very large
- Gods will have special say in the game
- great focus on iconic landmarks, statues and buildings
- two large cities planned with many smaller ones with strong focus on contrasting wild-areas, rivers, mountains and desolated areas (yes, you’ll be able to swim)
- fully respecting POE creatures lore with new additions
- dynamic presentation of dialogue
- for now idea is to keep “you can kill everyone in the game” option
- around 100 people are on the project for 2y (smaller number for 7m of preproduction), in total 2y 7m
- full production is already a thing
- team will still grow
- target date: late 2022/early 2023
Keep in mind that some parts of this can change during the development process. |

Found some Obsidian dev hire details that MIGHT hint at 3rd person mode:
"Experience with Unreal Engine 4 would be a plus"
"First-person melee combat gameplay"
"Combat with an emphasis on an exceptional first-person melee experience"
"Combat actions utilizing both first and third person animations"
"Branching dialogue"
"Conversations and cut scenes"
"Day/night cycles"

Avowed looks really cool and it seems some attacks are in third person (hopefully full third person?)
Eora looks stunning too and aumauas hotter than ever lmao I'm concerned about the possibility of romances since Obsidian are scared of them, hopefully the game will have third person cause romances would be the only thing that would make me play a first person game and endure the motion sickness

Do we even have any mods left on this site? nope haha my dear Numai I summon theeeee gimolas what should we doooo haha I'm seeing people critisizing the graphics and as much as it is true it doesnt look hyper realistic I think it's totally fine for a AA+ studio like Obsidian (even though they have Microsoft money now lol) like they captured Eora aesthetic perfectly, the first teaser was too dark and little colorful, and even though PoE had its dark moments, is not a dark world aesthetically |

New gameplay video, it'll be released in fall 2024 the game looks decent, but man no 3rd person view or romances yet to be confirmed, I wish I could be hyped since I love the world of Eora... But I cant  it seems to have a voiced protag though? |

It looks interesting enough but if it's 1st person only that's a miss for me unless they come up with something impressive enough that I could look past the 1st person only. I'll keep an eye on it but for now it's a hard pass.

its so sad they are not going to give the choice to swap to 3rd person, I would have played the game even without romances since I love PoE universe, I guess I'm gonna watch the story on youtube

Well, I wasn't going to be able to get this anyway, since it's Xbox, and my PC can't handle many games at this point. But yeah, I am really tired of this first person only stuff. Like, they can claim it to be "more immersive" all they want, all it ever does is remind me that I'm playing a game, so it's actively LESS immersive for me.
