Coral island will now launch on November 14, on PS5 and Xbox, already was on Steam as early access similar to BG3 but will now be fully released: Not sure when I will grab it myself, but I see some interest in the forum here in the past and I believe all the romances are bi and it includes marriage you can do with even mermaids! And it looks from the trailers the wedding does play out in the 3d world so you can see it visually. Here's the list of romances: coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Romance#Romance_candidatesI would likely go for Semeru and Mark mainly but like they all look good. Would depend how long each run would take to do more XD. Here's the rundown FAQ: www.stairwaygames.com/post/1-0-trailer-faq-sep-2023-dev-updateRoadmap: From the roadmap though, it seems to romance Semeru I'll have to wait for 2024 so I suppose no rush for me XD. But yeah I figured I would make the thread if anyone checks it out eventually and wants to share the experience!

the game has been on my radar since forever even though I dont like farming games, but it really does look cute. I had to unfollow the artist cause I'm a petty bitch since he only posted straight shit though and I see the trailer only features more straight shit even though everybody is bi I think lol negative aside, hope you guys enjoy!

I played a bit of the EA last year and I really loved it. I was only casually into Stardew and Animal Crossing, but it really combined all my favorite features of those games. Like every gay I was instantly attracted to Mark and Rafael is really sweet as well. I also liked Scott a lot too, but that may have been because he's who you turn your bugs into and bug catching was my favorite part by far. The merman is a hottie, though. Don't think he was in what I played.
Anyway, very excited for a full release!

Semeru, Scott, and Mark are my jam, and I would probably give Ben a shot as he's giving me hippy Anders vibes. XD
I played a bit of early access as a friend bought me the game, but after a bug where I lost all my tools and would have to restart, I gave up and decided I'd wait for full release. What I did play was pretty fun though, but I have to be in the right mood for a game like this.

I honestly forgot about this game. It feels like it's been forever since it was first announced but I remember liking the concept and some of the romance options. I'll definitely purchase it when I have time to actually play it...which might be a few months from now but I'm sure I will enjoy it and will post my thoughts. A lot of cute guys but Scott is probably going to be the main guy I go for!

Has the 1.1 Mermaid update happened yet? It's on sale right now on psn and I'm tempted, but if still no Merman loving I'll pass for now...

Not yet. I've played a bit with my brother in December and the game is very much in early access. There's a lot of stuff missing and a lot of events glitch out (dialogue doesn't trigger). Plus there's a lot of grinding, much more than Stardew Valley. With the pace they're keeping I think it'll be a year or more before it's in a decent state.

I'll probably not get it anytime soon then. I'm more interested in "My time at Sandrock" anyway, but the console support for that game's prequel was pretty lousy-so I'm a bit gun shy to jump back in.

I still really want to play this game but if it's really still missing so much content then that probably won't happen any time soon. Feels like forever since the initial excitement for this one.

So the 1.1 update for this game has launched for all platforms now, you can now romance the mermaids, including Semeru! I found footage of his content but only via a female character. I'm abit iffy that it seems theres like one romance encounter and then a wedding lol, but apparently on this patch they also added dates you could have in different places of the island with all romances I think, so hopefully thats something you can do in between. Other things of note is that you can be a merman, and Semeru can also leave the waters and have a human body and move out with you to your house. I see mixed info on wether you can have children with him yet, but I think also hear thats an element that might be a bit bugged atm, specially marriages. The wedding underwater is really cute though!
Ultimately I'm investigating and searching for more info on all the content, supposedly this patch now actually gives the main story an ending so it feels like a more complete game. So I will be watching to see the reception of this update and jump into it when the time is right. However, if any of you want to jump into it right now, this seems like the right time to do so and is on sale on steam for $23.99 instead of the regular $30.
The 1.1 poster, pissy Semeru

OMG he's not only hot but he can also get a human body to be with you?! I am so tempted to go for the merman now!
This game really does look like a lot of fun. I'm really tempted to just go ahead and buy it now. It's exactly the type of game I need in my life right now.

it really piss me off that even with queer devs, theres only straight pandering, the fact that pic with a female pc is so yawn inducing to me lol petiness aside yep that merman would really tempt me to eat fish stick again LMAO

Man-Ariel is very hot.
I haven't played Coral Island in a while, but honestly I like it better than Stardew. Might just be because I really like catching bugs though lol.

So...guess who married fish man?! Yes...I did! I was so set on Scott at first and was totally in love with him, but I ended up also falling for Semeru so hard. It was so hard to choose when I finally got the chance to propose but I went with semeru in the end because it was insanely difficult to get his content in the first place. I was also surprised by how much I ended up falling for Ben. I didn't think he'd be my type but he would now be my third choice.
In my state of depression and unemployment, I ended up wasting more time on this game than I'd like to admit over the summer...like a lot. It's definitely very rough around the edges and can be difficult and grindy at times. It takes a lot of time and commitment to get anywhere with your farm. I wasn't even able to start getting animals until late in the second year because I could never afford it. I also hate that it is so difficult to even get to the mermaids at all and that it's more late game content that actually feeling fully integrated into the main game. It also feels so heavily underutilized and not as impactful as it should be. There's just too much content that it sadly feels like you have to sacrifice progress in one or two areas to make make progress in another. Do you build you farm and crops but give up making progress in the mines/ocean? Or do you try to focus on building relationships and getting married while you give up farming/mining/etc.? If you try and balance everything like I did, it will take too long to make progress on anything.
Still, there was also a lot to love about the game. So many great characters to get to know. Farming could be fun when you could actually afford to get your farm going. It's noce to be able to decorate your house and farm when you could afford it. I also love the different art style and diversity compared to other games in the genre.
Overall the game feels a little lacking and unfinished/unpolished with too much grinding to really get anywhere. But if you have the time (like I did sadly) and energy for it, you can enjoy the better aspects of it.

Cuz thats at least helpful and not miss out, specially since it sounds so grindy to even get to him geez! Also sorry to hear about your state of things, hope things do get better for you! But I understand, these last few weeks I had no work at all so BG3 has been keeping me company. But yeah I'm afraid of this game feeling overwhelming and me not having too much experience with this kind of game, since i never played stardew valley or anything like that, harvest moon ages ago but that was on gamecube way back hahaha and I was really bad at it I had to use cheat codes hahaha. But yeah Ill keep having it on my list to eventually try during a sale. Does the game have like some sort of ending or just keeps going eternally or both?

I totally forgot to mention that Semeru's romance did feel a bit rushed when compared to the others. He did have fewer heart events so it felt like there was less time getting to know him and having more of a build-up to the romantic stuff. It did feel like he too quickly went from "I will kill you if you make a wrong move" to "I will die for you". Even with that though, I still love him. Scottphoto You can pretty much "date" everyone and see all their heart events no problem! So if you struggle to choose just one (like I did), you can get to know them all before deciding. The game is pretty easy to pick up and play even if you don't have experience with any of these types of games! I'd just recommend focusing on one aspect at first to not get too overwhelmed. (For example, focus only on farming or ranching or mining, etc. until you're more comfortable with the game.) There's a lot to do so your gameplay style will probably be different from what I did! I wouldn't recommend rushing to the Merfolk unless you have a huge interest in Semeru because otherwise it will feel much more grindy than it should without getting your tools upgraded first. The game does have kind of an "ending" (part of which involves getting to the Merfolk Kingdom) but it also does go on "forever" with a few new things to experience even after you complete the main story and Merfolk stuff.
