Needed some laughter as the news is depressing af sooooooooooo watched all of Dave Chappelle's comedy specials on Netflix. Fuckin' hilarious, the man is a comedic genius, glad that he's back. Also been re-watching RPDR as I'm eagerly awaiting All Stars 4 (looking forward to seeing alot of those girls again, Jesus is a biscuit ) never seen season 1 so I watched it, this show has come along way since then. The production quality of season 1 was raggedy af.

I'm mostly watching The Gifted and Charmed as they come out. Also into Defiance.
I actually once read a book where aliens started to send some kind of powerful plant life and worms (big ones maybe) that were starting to terraform Earth. In that first book we don't meet the aliens. I remember enjoying it but have never been able remember the title or author.
The point of that is that Defiance has a very similar theme, except post-terraforming.

Forgot I also watched "The Girl in the Spider's Web" on Friday. Didn't see the first but this one seemed to be a little far-fetched. Super hackers, a scientist who also happens to have a major military background, unlikely stunts...forgot the list. The story itself was decent but the characters are basically superhumans but not.
When I go into a Marvel movie, for example, we have a level of suspension of belief. We know it's stuff that could not happen under any circumstances. This movie was different because it's supposed to be regular people and they do EXTREME extraordinary feats.
Tomorrow going to see Fantastic Beasts. Despite some reviews my critics, I expect to enjoy it.

New season of South Park is excellent, enjoying it much more than last season.

Watching the new season of Narcos, focusing on the Mexican cartel, it's really good.

I'm so pissed at Pretty Little Liars It's all good seeing good lesbian rep until you find out that the villain is the only trans character that is killed in the next episode after you find out that she is trans (played by a cis woman), linking her transness to the villain game
and you know what is even worse? the showrunner is a lesbian/bi woman. Now I understand why there are no lgbtq men in the show. It's kinda the opposite of Teen Wolf really (where there are token gay dudes and lgbtq women dont exist, and the showrunner is a gay man)
You know cis-straight people screwing lgbtq rep is one (bad) thing but when they are lgbtq is just... What were your cis-privileged ass thinking? I'll finish this because I like the main girls and I watch it with my sister but if I would have known this earlier I wouldnt have started watching it...

We sort of ran out of things to watch, so we are re-watching Star Trek Voyager. It's such a lovely show the first 3 seasons, but after that, it varies from episode to episode-but still good stuff!

Bah 2 months before I can binge it! But I want it now!
I'm just glad they went with a series instead of a movie liked they originally planned. Series are way better.

We sort of ran out of things to watch, so we are re-watching Star Trek Voyager. It's such a lovely show the first 3 seasons, but after that, it varies from episode to episode-but still good stuff! Yeah, there's a distinct difference to seasons 1-3 to seasons 4-7, and I think it all has to do with Scorpion. Great episode on its own, but it basically made a definition of what is Voyager's ultimate purpose. Season three had spent so much time trying to basically show the crew learning to love the Delta Quadrant, seeing them genuinely EXPLORING the Delta Quadrant, with the return to the Alpha Quadrant taking a backseat. Season three explored the Delta Quadrant and even showed some exploration of the characters, trying to actually do things with them that showed them in situations that were going to change or advance them, even if it was just in small ways. And then Scorpion comes along, and puts the question for the crew and the writers front and center - what is the ultimate goal here, to explore the Delta Quadrant, or get Voyager home? These became mutually exclusive when it was decided that Voyager had reached the heart of Borg territory, that this was the river that separated the two options. Going forward meant that getting home was the ultimate goal, and turning back said that they'd learn to love the Delta Quadrant. And, in choosing to prioritize getting Voyager back to the Alpha Quadrant, the river was crossed, and they could never go back, Voyager would always be about getting to the Alpha Quadrant. Not the journey, but the destination. Now, there are some great episodes in seasons 4-7, don't get me wrong. I put together a list of my top 20 Star Trek episodes a couple years back for the fiftieth anniversary, and Muse, from late in season six, made it into the top ten. But the thing is, they're actually fairly interchangeable - an episode from season four could be swapped with an episode of season seven, and both would fit in comfortably, aside for maybe cosmetic details like Janeway's hair or Seven's outfit. I grew up with Voyager, so it will always hold a solid place in my heart, but there are just so many missed opportunities in it as well.

dgcatanisiri Yeah it did change this goals and themes pretty quickly. I think my least favorite part is how obsessed it got with the Janeway saving Seven of nine bits. There are so many times I really disliked the way Janeway bullied and forced Seven to be her ideal version of humanity. Eh, it worked out I know, but it made me uncomfortable (if my memory serves). Also, Seven, in general, annoyed me anyway...She seemed oversexualized (those outfits eh) and boring. She took a huge effort to get used to for me personally. I never loved her character, but I keep saying maybe it's cause I loved Kess so much that I'm biased. -shrug-

I got through watching/playing the 2 new episodes (I think the final ones) of Netflix's Minecraft Story mode. It was strange. Episode 4 didn't remember my choices from the first 3 episodes, and it just wasn't as good of a story in episode five. So overall I was disappointed. I may try to watch them all 5 in a roll some night soon, and see if it'll work better that way, but meh... I don't think my choices would have saved episode five from being Aidan (voiced by MacCready I think) being a jerk the whole episode for no apparent reason. -shrug-

Rewatching Frasier at the moment. So good! For whatever reason this popped up in my youtube recommended list, and I remembered I've been meaning to give it a go for a while now.

Watched Origin (YouTube red) on the weekend, very good sci fi with elements of horror and drama ofc some inevitable in such genre stupid actions from the characters, but still ,as the whole, I enjoyed it , so for the fans of expanse and such I'd recommend it. It has a good LGBT rep, big spoiler though : wlw gets killed off ,but at least mlm lives and in the main cast so it's something I guess. Started instinct as well, regular crime procedural, but it has a main gay character and the characters are likeable.

Now that finals are over, I'm watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine all the way through for the first time; I've seen scattered episodes before, but never watched the show in order and consistently enough to follow the story arcs.
I'm partway through season 1, and so far I think Major Kira's my favorite character, followed closely by Commander Sisko.

I watched this movie called "Shared Rooms". I was okay, not bad not amazing. Had a number of full frontal scenes that really had no part other than showing off bodies in a gay movie. (Hulu)
Now watching the second half of "The Wolverine". Got interrupted last time I was watching. (Hulu)
Think next I'm going to watch the TV series "Outlander" which is about a nurse from 1945 sent ~150 years into her past. (Amazon Prime)

Waiting on season 2 of Orville and Discovery. Wait, The Orville is on again?? I think Outlander might have to take a backseat. Sadly, I won't get CBS All Access just for ST: Discovery. Eventually there will be too many competing streaming services before some of them start to fold. If CBS is one of them I'll get the chance to see ST:D.
