I really really have to finally see the movie, but this looks great If they didn't do the "werewolves peeing on things" joke in the movie, then the series is worth it just for that Also, Matt Berry was great in IT Crowd, he'll be great here too. good to see that the acting is almost as good as in the movie and the soundtrack is by the same russian band again haha

Just finished You The only reason why I finished it was because I was watching with my sister, but big pass on season two, I cant endure another season with the main character, I have read people feeling empathy for him and feeling guilty at the same time like wtf I was grossed out in every damn episode. This kind of shows are not for me... Where is Dexter Morgan when you need him

Watching nightflyers on netflix right now, and it's a pretty good sci fi, I expected the worst after not so favourable reviews

the main actor is apparently a racist and a biphobe/homophobe, so im staying away from this show...its gay free anyway, but in the comics theres supposedly a gay villain (the usual "great" rep i know) but he hasnt appeared on the show

Characters, yes, (one makes use of swastikas in a note to the main character - of Mexican descent - he's "dead") but not actors. That character, incidentally, is portrayed as a bad person.
I'm not sure who's meant to be homophobic and/or racist. Not Benjamin Wadsworth, the lead character, nor Benedict Wong, the headmaster. Can't think on anyone else who fits "main actor". Someone, somewhere, maid this claim and somehow it became fact. I'd very much like to see a source before believing these things are true of the main actor(s).
As for presence of gay characters, I'm not sure how that's relevant. X-Men in movies? Nope. X-Men comics after they outed Iceman, but I'm opposed to altering 50 years of thought bubbles for the sake of diversity. Spider-Man? No. Avengers? No. These are solid movies without gay characters. I look more for the quality of writing over which box is checked. Just how I feel about it.

Actually Bobby Drake almost came out in the nineties, ofc that was never going to happen back in the day. Mainstream superhero comic books have a stupid trend to retcon things, but fortunately this is not one of them, since X-Men is just a way of criticizing stuff about racism is not that crazy they wanted to use being a mutant as metaphor of homosexuality. Again, superhero comicbooks have a nasty trend to put lgbtq characters in the closet, they did it with Hercules (616 version) and they are doing it again with the young version of Iceman marrying him to a woman *gay angst narrative passsss* (I don't know much about this though, Marvel comics are a mess, long time since I read something from them blergh). Ofc there are good media without lgbtq rep, but that's not an excuse to invisibilize lgbtq rep in present day media, it's unforgivable and unacceptable. About the importance of representation well, IT IS important, and you're way of thinking is blatantly stupid if you ask me, it touches internalized homophobia even, but I'm not wasting my time with someone who thinks being gay is political

In every single aspect of my life. But, sure, psychoanalyze me because I want a decent story and not just a checked box. Incidentally, this isn't solely related to sexuality. It's about anything, such as race, gender, religion and so forth.

The main guy,Benjamin something, he commented on fanvideo ab him and some other boy from the show:" he likes girls only.period. " and racist comments you can find on Tumblr, there's whole meta about him being an idiot lol, even hia castmate from teen Wolf ( supposedly a queer one) unfollowed him after that.

In the new comic series? What?? as I said I didnt know much about it, I just looked into it again XD he didnt marry to a woman ( I saw that pic and I thought it was a wedding, I "rage-quitted" and stopped reading lmao) but his memories were erased www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/marvel-puts-iceman-back-closet-extermination-comic-book-1170909At least adult Iceman is gay. Putting Hercules's biness in the closet is totally true though. edit. to clarify, the original teen X-Men were brought to the present, teen Iceman is the one getting his memories erased. I guess adult and 616 Bobby Drake is still gay and kicking, ofc I dont give a damn about Marvel anymore so I dont know for sure. I cant wait to find out what Disney is gonna do when they make X-Men movies. I expect salt.

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah, I think that would be bothersome to me. There's usually some fear behind it all. I was reading about Luke Evans. He publicly came out in 2002. Then he got vague about it in 2010 when his career started picking up. Finally, in 2014, he openly acknowledged it again - I think around National Coming Out Day. Of course, he didn't talk out against LGBT people - or anyone, for that matter.

So, I've watched the entire youtube series Weird City. It's like a near future, high tech parody by Jordan Peele. Each episode has different characters. The first two episodes are free, and I recommend the first one, it's sweet. Also, I missed Dylan.
The second one stars Michael Cera and had me going what the hell the whole time, in a bad way. Watch at your own risk. From cute to creepypasta in one episode. Oh and in episode 4 Laverne Cox and Sara Gilbert play a couple, and they were great.

I've been watching The Umbrella Academy. It's pretty good so far, and it's got some fun twists on superhero/comic book tropes. I especially like how a lot of shots feel a lot like full-page comic book panels, and the use of splitscreen shots in action scenes.

yea and it feels like a bit more darker dirk gently to me, which is cool! i miss dirk gently and theres a mlm rep in the main cast, though his love interest dies, but considering a spoiler...its not that bad? and some other love interests die as well , so i guess its even lol also in the comics none of that rep existed, no gays, no poc...and gerard way admitted he was wrong and thats why they added it up in the tv show, its refreshing to see famous people realize their mistakes and do better.
