Favourite Romances:
Dragon Age: Morrigan, Leliana, Isabela, Josephine. (And while I find Sera's romance a little bit lacking in emotion, I think her sex scene is one of the best BioWare has ever created, really frank & casual.)
Mass Effect: Liara & Peebee.
Fallout 4: I think these relationships lack alot of content but my favourite are Piper and Curie because they are two of my favourite followers in FO4 and because they wouldn't let me romance Nick Valentine.
Life is Strange: Chloe, I don't know why you'd romance the guy.
Witcher 3: Yennifer, but honestly I love Yennifer so much I'd pay whatever CD Projekt Red wanted for a game with her as the protagonist.

Life is Strange: Chloe, I don't know why you'd romance the guy. Whenever I find Warren fans out in the wild, namely the ones that hate Chloe and think Max should get with Warren, my first thought is: Did we play the same game?

Whenever I find Warren fans out in the wild, namely the ones that hate Chloe and think Max should get with Warren, my first thought is: Did we play the same game? I think the game makes it obvious that Warren does fancy Max, but that Max considers him her friend. Personally, I think that romancing Warren validates the idea that if a guy just lurks around a girl he fancies for long enough she'll eventually fall for him and I don't like that.

I'll do my top Two romances of each game I've done romances in. They won't be in preference order probably.
Dragon Age: Origins : Zevran, Leliana Dragon Age 2: Isabela, Fenris Dragon Age Inquisition: Solas, Sera (Cullen is an honorable mention. It's a very good romance)
Mass Effect: Liara Mass Effect 2: Garrus, Thane (Not including Samara because ;o; and Liara because she is DLC only technically) Mass Effect 3: Garrus, Liara
Skyrim no mods: Marcurio (used to be Aela but once we got married and adopted kids she got super rude so we had a fist fight lul) Skyrim mods (only included this since Artemis added people only available VIA mod) : Veezara, Gabriella
Jade Empire: Silk Fox
Saints Row 4: Johnny Gat, Shaundi

YAAAAAS. Husbando/waifu wars commence! For me, the absolute pinnacle of m/m romance is Kaidan. And, while I get that his romance needs a little head-canoning and it's just a watered down version of the female one, I just use him as my "north star" on what I'm looking for. By the time you can finally romance him in ME3, their relationship is one of equals and I really like that. A lot of the other romances, it feels like the PC is calling all of the shots, but they did it right with Kaidan by having it work in both directions. The teasing, the in-jokes, the comfort with each other. It's just really well done. You feel like you are actually watching two people with a relationship (versus, "We'll bang, okay?"). My favorite moment in the entire ME trilogy is Kaidan's romance date. He comes over and cooks for you (steak and beer, what a stud!) and then you cuddle on the couch. It's touching. So for ME, I will go with Kaidan. That being said, both Steve and Gil are pretty great as well. Their romances are just too short to edge out Kaidan, but I really like their romances alot. Top tier for me. Reyes is good, but just can't compare to the other ME guys. In DA, it's a little more complicated. If I had to rate the m/m options on a love, like, dislike, I wouldn't have any that I "love". My favorite m/m character is Dorian. He's a charming smug little fuck and he's got a great ass. But his romance is a little high maintenance for me. The whole "daddy issue" thing and then the whole "I need my amulet, but I need to do it myself. Don't you dare help me. Waaah!" thing just weren't great for me. Good, but not great. The only other contender for the top spot is Anders, interestingly. And I kind of hate Anders as a character, but I think his romance story arc is fantastic. He's the opposite of Dorian in that way. A non-rebel, friend-manced mage Hawke has a killer story with Anders and is put in one of the most difficult decisions at the end of the game. It's high drama, but in a good way. Great story-telling. I just don't like DA2 Anders that much. He's such a bitchy little shit. Meh. Fenris and Bull are "meh" for me. They are fine. But neither are exactly for me. And don't get me started on Zevran. I HATE that fucking guy and his bullshit romance. I have to admit that I didn't play Fallout 4 all the way, so I can't weigh in completely. I romanced the FUCK out of that sexy metal KISA Danse. And I actually really liked MacReady's romance. I thought it was kind of cool to be able to play as two widowers, both who had children and then see them fall in love with each other. It's super rare to see two bisexual guys in a romance with each other.

Saints Row 4: Johnny Gat, Shaundi Haha, I didn't consider this one, but I like the line with Johnny Gat. It's like the only one that's semi-serious. I was kind of surprised after every other one was basically "we'll bang, okay". lol

Anders forever. Best character, best romance.
Andrew in Technomancer was alright, I liked his story and personal quest a lot. For Fallout 4 I like MacReady, but I didn't really check out anyone else. I haven't come even close to doing everything there is to do in that game.
I'm not that familiar with most indy games or visual novels. I don't have a steam account, so I don't see a lot of that niche stuff.

I like Johnny, but also the robot. >__> I'm always down to sex a robot, tbh. In Saint's Row I just do everybody, because it takes literally no time to see all the content anyway, lol. But the best part of the entire game is the Opposites Attract duet with Pearce (Pierce?).

Mass effect Andromeda: Vetra probably my favourite character of any ME game (after Garrus and Legion) only did her romance in MEA but damn, I love her. AVITUS BECOME A ROMANCE PLS Dragon Age origins: Leliana (Morrigan was also a awesome character) Dragon age 2: Anders Dragon age Inquisition: Iron Bull (Favourite romance so far other than THE FACT THAT HE ALWAYS TOPS LET MY DWARF CONTROL U)

Only romance option in Saints Row 4 that made me sorry there wasn't more content for it. I feel like my female boss and Shaundi could've had a really great relationship. I also thought Asha was good too. I really liked her as a character and she and the boss hate fuck which isn't in games enough IMO. Silk Fox is definitely the best romance in Jade Empire. And even though I've put more hours in Skyrim than I can count and have only ever married Aela, I never really consider Skyrim to have romance options. Even Saints Row 4 makes made of an impact on me than Skyrim in that regard.

Fallout 4: I think these relationships lack alot of content but my favourite are Piper and Curie because they are two of my favourite followers in FO4 and because they wouldn't let me romance Nick Valentine. Yes! Look I know he is practically falling apart but they gave us an awesome noir style detective as a party member and didn't make him a romance option?? He is definitely my favorite character from FO4. Source

SourceI've been thinking of restarting FO4 because I spent way too long messing about and am 100's of hours in without having gone to the Insitute yet and I'd love to play through with Nick as my main follower, roleplaying as a couple of noir detectives as best I can. But then I remember how much effort it would be to restart and I'm put off.

And don't get me started on Zevran. I HATE that fucking guy and his bullshit romance. Okay, I have to know now. What is wrong with it for you? I know about it from things I've read. I started a play with the intention to romance him on one occasion, but never finished that play or really even got started down that path. His initial excessive flirting and suggestive remarks make me uncomfortable. I've heard that the romance has a good payoff once you get past that (well, not for you, obviously), but I don't fancy forcing myself to get past it for that payoff. And I just don't find him that interesting. DAO is really the only game for me where David Gaider characters (other than Shale) don't knock my socks off.

For me, the issue is that he is insultingly written to appease fragile straight bro ego. I know that it was written years ago and it was different then (he is, after all, only the second m/m option ever) and, at the time, I didn't hate it as much. But now, it just pisses me off. The only m/m guy and you have the option to kill him right away. And I remember vividly hearing people bragging about killing him before he could flirt with them. Then you have to go through multiple "Are you freaked out that I'm into guys?" "Is it okay if I flirt with you?" dialogues before you can even get started with him. And then he spends a huge amount of time talking about women that he's fucked. Outside of one story about a prince who was naked when he killed him, he does zero overt talking about his interest in males. It's all ladies. And it continues even after you've locked him into the romance. My poor Aeducan boy-scout Warden has to sit there and watch his boyfriend go on and on and on about Wynne's tits right in front of him. Straight bro toilet humor apparently outweighs the romance for gay guys. Frankly, my Warden can do better (Gorim....... ). Zevran sucks.
