After playing Mass Effect Andromeda again I have to say I still have a lot of love for Gil! Even though his romance wasn't exactly what I wanted, I'm still really happy that the game gives us the option to be with Renly Baratheon.  I'm still hoping to someday get a commission of my Ryder with Gil. There's not enough Gil fan art out there! I'm starting to get that same feeling with Gil. Been flirting with him and, rather than seeing what he's not (Kaidan/squadmate), instead I'm beginning to see him for who he is. Quite the interesting character, and one who doesn't take shit from anyone. The fault with Gil really is what the writing chooses to do with him, not with who he is. Like, there's so much that could have been done with him, even if it had been done right, just giving him this reproductive storyline, keeping him mostly isolated from the rest of the cast, is just a waste of a good character. Which, admittedly, gives me a lot of directions to go with when writing fanfic, but... It's appalling that I've got so much room to maneuver on what to do with Gil, because the game pretty much dismisses him the moment he shows up. |

Like, I just... As a writer, I don't understand why Gil is given so little to do when he could easily have been a key crew member. As a gay person, of course, I understand why it happened, and I am furious and livid... |

Other than the fights he has with Kallo where we hear he's upgraded something...I'd almost think he just jacks it all day in the back. (that might be better than just standing there though).  |

I want to talk with him about his sleeping issues and about his fear. AND this not only for a romance (of course with Bonus scenes in a romance). Idk but I would be worried when one of my friends suffers so much, even when he jokes about and I would do everything to help him to feel better. Or at least I would tell Lexi about it. :x
Also the 'big' poker scene is a damn joke.

nightscrawl is gone?!  I can never quite understand why people remove their accounts if something is bothering them rather than just staying a way for a bit. I remember seeing why guy on BSN quit on two occasions that I know (maybe is around under a different alias). It just seems a weird thing to do. Even me, who is kind of having a hate-hate relationship with FB atm, have merely disabled my account for the time being. |

need help from Gil fans, yesterday I wrote a comment, well, it was a rant about Bioware in a blog, and now they want to publish it because they loved it which it's weird because I pretty much vomited how angry I am at Bioware lol. The comment is about how they treated as lgbtq consumers and how they treat their lgbtq characters (pretty much what I wrote is a summary of what we discuss here). the thing is, can you not still get the final kiss with Gil if you dont choose to have the baby?? No kiss unless you are having the baby, unfortunately. They didn't even bother with fixing the animation issued Scott has with Reyes, so it's still less intimate than Sara's romance with him. Poor Gil really deserved so much better. I'm going to continue loving him a lot despite everything and he will happily be with my Ryder, Michael, in my story with absolutely no Jill. |

Yeah, despite promising that they'd address issues of "male romances for Scott Ryder," the only fix made was that Jaal was bi. And while I love that it happened in the first place, that we did get Jaal's bisexuality put back into place like it should have been from the start, I am still pissed about the fact that they did nothing else.
Like... For crying out loud, just putting in the kiss and tightening up the Reyes dance... This didn't involve dragging anyone back into the studio! This was just an animation fix - like making Addison massage her temples when she says "my face is tired." But, you know, since that was all over the media slamming them, THAT one they fixed...
Seriously, I am so pissed off about the Gil kiss being tied to the baby thing. Like... Why the hell should we see having a baby as the "reward" for romancing Gil? Why can't the reward of romancing Gil be, I don't know... ROMANCING GIL?!
