Calowen Bright-Hair

Calowen, or Cal, is a bosmer who has lived in Skyrim his whole life. He is not the Dragonborn (I don't think I have any OCs who are... ooops.) If I had to characterize him I'd go with witty, good-humored, friendly, and stubborn as a mammoth. Probably a closeted romantic, too, but you didn't hear me say that.

Cal's about 28 years old and roamed Skyrim with his mother until she settled down with his step-father, a Nord, in Winterhold. Both she and his step-father died when he was about 12, so he had to grow up pretty fast. He makes his living as a thief, and the fact that he's an amazing archer doesn't hurt, either. He has incredibly good luck, considering how foolhardy he can be (a fact he freely acknowledges, but I think he also likes to boast about it), and has come close to dying more than once, but somehow he always manages to survive. He enjoys the challenge more than the reward, so that thieving is almost more of a hobby than a means to an end. He's incredibly friendly, leaves a string of broken hearts in his wake (that might be a slight embellishment on his part), but has only been in love once (not that he can easily admit it; in fact, he won't).

Tbh I didn't have a canon until I created Cal. I was off work at the time so I wrote a story for him. After that, I created a couple more characters, and I'll post them here in a bit. They're still kind of growing in my head. I'm really resisting the urge to write stories for them, too.

I've heard of the Blades but never encountered them in the game! As for the Thieves Guild, I agree it's a pain in the ass to become guild master; those ambient quests are annoying. But I actually prefer Brynjolf as default guild master; it just makes sense, instead of me, some upstart, becoming the leader of everyone. Same thing with the mage's college. Which reminds me, I need to create a mage's college canon character now OTL 

Marcurio is probably the best-looking guy in the game, yeah. It's shocking how awful everyone looks. Even without mods, simply using RaceMenu, you can create extremely good-looking people. Just sad.


Now I'm wondering how you pictured him! Probably one of the reason I grew so attached to the character is I actually managed to make him look the way he appeared in my head. That's... er, rare for Skyrim.

That's a pretty fascinating character background. I've never played a blacksmith; I mean I've "leveled up" in blacksmith, but story-wise I've never played a character I imagined as a blacksmith. That's pretty cool. And really cute that he's not into adventuring lol

It's Riften! Especially when it's foggy like that. Also a lot of my shots in the city of Cal are in the early morning because that's when he does his thieving lol The fogginess gives his skin a greyish tint.

I love playing dunmer, but even with EEO and RaceMenu it's hard to get rid of that massive forehead bump of theirs.

Linas (pronounced LIH-nus)

My newest character, still under development... 

Linas is a 24~ year old bosmer hunter who, like many hunters in Skyrim, has been "hunting and fishing in these woods for years."  (rofl)  He is taciturn by nature, and hence rarely makes friends. Those who have known him longest - mostly innkeepers and shop owners who buy his furs and meats - like him well enough, and perhaps there are those who even worry about him, living alone as he does, with no true place to call home. But to most people, he is too quiet and perhaps a bit menacing to consider approaching. When in town he's well aware of the looks he gets, and the way people, especially those with children, try to discreetly move away as he approaches. 

His horse, Birna, is his constant companion; he's had her for years now, and has been seen and heard murmuring to her as if she can understand him - which is ridiculous, so most who observe such a conversation assume the poor young man to be more than a bit daft.

Thanks Took a couple days of tweaking. I'm way too embarrassed to show you Linas 1.0; he was blond and his face was all pointy and weird   lol

Luckily once you get their "look" right I find their personality just blossoms in spades
