Paladin Danse (what his first name is no one knows) less than affectionately referred to as soldier boy and tin can by some other companions. Danse is a loyal member of the Brotherhood of Steel and one who's romance arc is toed into the main plotline of the faction. Not to mention being a literal knight in shining armour. Who'd say no to that face?

Do you have to choose the Brotherhood to romance this KISA? Cause damn, I'd do it just for that face.

Yes if you want to be able to talk to and fade to black with him after the ending. Guess I have no choice then! I would recommend a mod though for spoilery reasons. The game is a little broke after a certain point.

Yes if you want to be able to talk to and fade to black with him after the ending. Guess I have no choice then! You don't have to. It's a bit complicated but you can still side with the Minutemen after doing a certain quest for Danse. It's just a little finicky and you have to meta game the quests. Otherwise, the easiest option is BOS. (Unless you're on PC, in which case there are mods that will either switch Danse's allegiance after his quest, or stop him from going catatonic if you do Railroad/Institute ending. Danse is my favourite romance of the game though, I love how much he is tied to at least the BOS quests and it pulls on your heartstrings.

You cant technically finish the minutemen storyline though you have to just not do their final quest.

You cant technically finish the minutemen storyline though you have to just not do their final quest. Well that's only an end to their story if you decide to piss the BOS off. The Minutemen story ends just fine without doing that part. (I never knew it was a thing until I read about it.) If there were actual consequences to your ending choice outside of killing off a faction or two then I'd say it matters if the BOS are still around. But there isn't. So unless that pops in another game it feels kinda moot.

I think I will just watch the romance on YouTube and read about it. I've never played a Fallout game other than the demo for this. I wasn't a fan of the straight background for my character, so it felt like I was in a lie with my wife and had this gay double life. Don't need that guilt!

The wife thing bothered me at first, but I got over it and find ways to make the most of it. My SS is totally gay. He just made some poor choices early on. It happens.

Oh, Danse. He's so hot, with his dirty, rugged face, surprisingly fluffy hair, dark puppy dog eyes, swoon-worthy voice, and those thick eyebrows that shoot up to the moon when he's flirted with.
It is a crime that his story is broken and isn't developed after the reveal. A huge potential for character development, some good angst, soul searching, and maybe even a change or softening of his ideals. But nope. Bethesda needs to learn how to develop their characters. Hopefully they will in time.

I cheated and watched the entire romance and dialogue options for Danse. Is this really all Bethesda does for romances? Sheesh. I mean, sure... it was awesome and interesting in its own way, but I really expected more than just dialogue from how much people have talked it up. He's handsome, so I'm game. Just saying is all.

Was building up Vault 88 and Danse decided to stop for a dinner break, I thought it was adorable how I could almost sit down to dinner with my husband (notice the wedding ring)
