This thread is a spot to share micro-fiction; short writing that isn't a chapter of/directly connected to a larger work of writing.
Got a short scene unconnected to any larger story? Sketching out a character concept? Have you written a "bit of fic" (such as a short outline/story idea)? Post it here!

I actually have one It's not very good. Yeah I know everyone says that about their fiction, but, meh. It was for a 100 word challenge (I think) and it features the characters from my WIP. Rohan is a young merchant and engineer, and his newly wedded husband is Emerson ("Remy") a young noble. Remy is/was the main character, but this is from Rohan's POV. To me it's overly sappy and saccharine, but whatevs. "Love in the Dead of Winter" Rohan watched as his husband trudged resolutely through the snow. Remy’s hood was pulled down, obscuring his blue hair, his breath turning instantly to ice as he struggled to keep up.
“What are you staring at?” he suddenly snapped.
Rohan grinned. “Just admiring your red cheeks.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere,” came the reply. “Laugh all you want, O’Corrain. But you’re going to lose that bet.”
“Mm. It’s all right if you’re tired. This is the worst winter we’ve had in years. It’s no slight against your manhood if you turn back.”
“Shut up.”
Rohan ducked his head and grinned.
