When recommending, as a point of courtesy, please give what pairings are in the fic and anything someone might want to know before reading it, including trigger warnings for things you'd warn for (like rape, natural disasters, other traumatic situations).

I've enjoyed most of Spicyshimmy's work which is all AU, mostly m!Shep/Kaidan and m!Hawke/Anders pairings. There are some other miscellaneous pairings but I believe all m/m. |

I've always loved Montparnasse's f!Hawke/Isabela stories, particularly ' On Southerly Winds' which is my favourite Isabela fic of all time, ever. She's also written a fantastic Miranda/Jack fic (we always knew there was some wonderful tension there), a Morrigan/Leliana one which won me over to the pairing! I've just discovered lemonsprinkles' mshenko recently and I'm really enjoying the Soldier's Heart setting, which - so far, I'm only a few chapters in - is basically a surprisingly thoughtful series about post-Destroy Shepard getting all the counselling he'd need after the hell the trilogy put him through. |

A few of my favorite fics. I think they're worth a look even if (or especially if!) you're not big on the characters in question. any four walls that enclose the right person ~ this is a Sera-centric oneshot with hints of Sera/Adaar. Just an absolutely lovely piece, insightful, and it captures everything I love about Sera and this ship.  By The Still Waters ~ this is mainly mHawke/Fenris, but it's absolutely worth reading even if that's not your cup of tea. It's an epic-length fic with emphasis on elven lore and rescuing Hawke from the Fade, Varric is great, Solas is great, and this has THE BEST MERRILL VOICE OF ALL TIME OMG, it's so good. Also I am Carver Hawke trash, so here's three excellent lil bro fics and their summaries: Griffons' Wake ~ All the Grey Wardens are hearing the Calling, waking up to the wing-beats of Archdemons and a desperate urge to hit the Deep Roads; not all of the Wardens, however, have Garrett Hawke for a brother. Carver Hawke finds himself shuffled between his brother's friends in a vain urge to protect him from a fate he knows is inevitable. That is until something, or more specifically someone, he wants more comes back into his life.The Other Brother ~ Grey Warden Carver Hawke tries to forget his past and embrace his new purpose. When several comrades go missing, Carver joins the mission to discover their fate. What Carver finds shakes the foundations of his world and sets him on a path pitting him against his friends, thrusts him into political conspiracies, and ultimately a fight for his life and the fate of the Free Marches. WIP. The Other Hawke ~ Garrett isn't the only Hawke in Kirkwall. Carver asks Fenris to practice with him, and from there blossoms a beautiful friendship in which they hit each other with sticks, drink far too much wine, and talk about sex. Everything after that is a bonus. Cheese is eaten, baths are had, and between all the angst someone has sex with an elf. This is a story about envy and frustration, and how much Carver needs to get laid. |

I'm currently reading A Herald named Desire. It's still an ongoing (crack)fic and I think I fell in love with it a little.  It's basically about a Desire Demon who fell out the Breach, and tries to pass as a Qunari. He then becomes the inquisitor and he's basically just internally screaming throughout the whole fic and just going ???? all the time. I find it pretty hilarious. The tags say there's going to be Adaar/Dorian and Adaar/Iron Bull stuff in it, but there hasn't been anything romantic or suggestive yet. It's veeeery slow burn. I was still a bit unsure the first 3 chapters or so, because the writing seemed very different and strange from the stuff I usually read. The quizzi is an unrealiable narrator in this fic and I had to get some time to get used to it, but I freaking love it now.  There is also pseudo lore science about fade-demon-spirit stuff in it, which is totally made up, but I found it pretty interesting. |
