I'm curious, what was the first videogame you've played, when did you start gaming? Mine was Sonic the Hedgehog on the gud ol' Sega Megadrive as a wee Crim, 5 years old. I still have my old Sega with my games, never gonna give that up. From Sega I graduated to Playstation and I've been a Sony gal ever since. Handheld consoles were also a given, the ol' grey Nintendo Gameboy brick, to the Gameboy Color, to the GBA, to the NDS. Super Mario and Pokemon games mostly. So, how bout you?

The very first video game I remember playing is Hexen. I got killed constantly and spent most of the time fleeing for my life lmao. First RPG was Diablo on my uncle's save. I thought it was awesome but I was also terrified bc I was a wee babbu and there were shadows and skeletons and OMINOUS MUSIC. I also had a Gameboy Advance and a handful of games on that, mostly Super Mario Bros tho. My brother had GTA and The Sims and I'd steal his PS2/PC and play those bc hookers and hot tubs and death. And I remember some game with a mouse pirate(??) that I loved.

First game? I think it was Motocross on the Commodore 64. My brother had one, which he later traded for a Nintendo entertainment system. I was 4 when he introduced me to gaming, and forever grateful. After that its been mostly PC for RPG's and Playstation for everything else. For handheld? Gameboy for Pokemon, of course. Still got all my old consoles and games, never getting rid of them.

I was in my 20s when I started gaming (when I was growing up, we had 3 channels on TV and the games we played were like Clue and Monopoly, lol). My first game was Sim Earth, and I moved from there to Sim City, Sim Theme Park, and then Sims. And I still really love management sim games. I currently have Planet Coaster and Cities Skylines, but I haven't spent as much time with those because distracted by other games. My first non-sim game was Diablo, and I went from that to Fable. And I still really only play sims and RPGs.
Oh, I almost forgot about Myst, I played I think all of the Myst games.

My first "console" was an original Nintendo Gameboy that my mum bought secondhand from a friend's daughter. I got a few random, shitty games with it. I only really remember Bart Simpson's Escape From Camp Deadly. Lol.

i thiiiiiiink it was frogger? i played it with my father, the whole family kind of did, sitting around the tv. if that doesn't count, then it's heroes of might and magic 2, which i also started off playing with my father, and then later on my own. good times and good memories. i was reluctant to play anything other than strategy games for a long time.

I played my very first game on Amiga 500 that belonged to my brother. Though I have no idea what the game was, I was 4 and well... I barely remember anything. But I remember very well playing a bit later on Sega. The same Sonic game as you, Crimson and some other. Mickey Mouse and Strider. These three I remember the most.

I'm not sure what the first game I played was, it might've been an arcade game Space Invaders, maybe.
But my first console was the Nintendo 64, along with Rampage World Tour being the first game I had on it.

The first one I remember, anyway, was Vectorman for Sega Genesis.

The only video game available in 77 in France: Pong. It was fun, for real (and hard, but fun, but sooooo hard, but sooo fun ^^). My mum and I spent hours on sundays playing this 'game'.

I think it was Mathblasters, actually. I was awful at math but very interested in video games, so the concession my parents made was that I could have educational games.

I use to play Duck Hunt and Mario with my dad when I was still in diapers on the regular Nintendo. Some of my favorite early memories is playing Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Island with my grandma.

The very first game (outside of school settings -- Sesame Street math games, Oregon Trail, etc) that I remember playing and getting into was Lemmings. This was a PC puzzle game where you used the lemmings to get through the level. They are essentially drones, and there are different lemmings with different jobs. You might need builders to make a bridge, or diggers to dig a path, or suicide bombers that explode to make a hole. If you became trapped, you could end the level by nuking them all. I played some Mario on SNES, but I never owned one, so my experience with that is spare. I had an original Gameboy and played quite a bit of that. I didn't consider myself a "gamer" until I got an N64. Even then, it took The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for me to really become obsessed. For the computer, my first MMO was the Korean MMO, Ragnarok Online, which I played obsessively for a couple of years; like most K MMOs, it was a total grindfest. Then I played World of Warcraft and become lost in that for about 10 years. My first introduction to Bioware games was Neverwinter Nights, which I played a lot of, all expansions, and really enjoyed. It was the first game that also got me into modding. The community content was pretty awesome and there were some really high quality player-made modules, complete with voice acting, that were very good.

Ooh interesting topic and Im jelly sonic was your first! My first ever played was Super Mario Kart and then Street Fighter II that my uncles owned on the SNES. However, my first ever owned game and console was the n64 with mario kart 64. Also had star fox 64 which I was terrible at but later got good at it and became my favorite game of all time for a while. Till this silly sexual space humans and aliens game called Mass Effect 2 came in and took the throne .

My racing partner and I would do a thing to mess around on the maps where we entered the 1v1 mode and drove backwards along the course, collecting item boxes and doing things like using stars to explode trees, collect bananas into huge piles, visit Peach's castle on that one course, and other weird things. Exploding trees was the best, because the second person would hang back and watch as the tree shot into the sky like a rocket.
