We all know about the gay/bi LIs and whatnot, but what about minor gay moments where a gay or bi character gets to shine? Share what you find here! 🔬
For example, the email you get after Thane's recruitment quest in the original trilogy from a male Salarian:

I always liked that. And I'll bet Jeirt was every bit as pissed about Thane's straightwashing as the rest of us were.

What counts as a minor gay moment? Aria being pissed when Nyreen Kandros dies because she still loved her? The relationship wasn't all the subtle but neither was it blatant.

In the Nexus Uprising was a gay married couple. They really loved each other. Sadly one of the guys was one of the rebells and died.

This isn't confirmed or anything, but there's a video log on the Hugo Gernsback from a female doctor. She mentions not being able to remember the face of someone named Susan or Susannah. Implication seems to be that person was her partner/lover/wife.

Two of Shepard's crew from the Normandy SR1 were a female same-sex couple. We don't learn this until ME2, after retrieving all the dog tags from Alchera, when a message comes from the mother of one of the ladies thanking Shepard. It's not exactly a "shining" moment to mention that two dead Alliance marines were a lesbian couple but it's something.

I grinned like a sap when I saw that bit about Macen wanting Avi's face to be the last thing he sees in the Milky Way.
Macen's death doesn't even bother me because it's consistent with the other Pathfinders.

What does Bioware have against them, anyway? (Think they might have gone a bit overboard on the "inexperienced noobs find their way" thing) Plus, Raeka's cool. On-topic: - There is a woman on Eos (leaning on a railing next to the pool) getting someone's advice about when the right time to have kids is. Her partner is not present, but she refers to her with a feminine name. If you keep returning between missions, eventually they decide to have kids. Basically the definition of subtle and easily-missed, but it's there. - Why Kallo keeps borrowing credits from Suvi: You get an email from Zoe afterwards. Another case where they're barely even characters, but it's something... right? The placement of f/f content around Suvi, however minor, is mildly helpful as well.

I think gay krogan were implied in ME2, since most of the krogan off Tuchanka seem to be male (apart from Kesh I guess seeing as she's probably working on the Nexus), a lot of Mordin's krogan admirers were probably male.

Gavorn can be seen on one of the Shadow Broker's monitors with a shirtless human guy.
Personally, I like to think the turian on the Sunset Strip talking about his anniversary is on the line with a boyfriend, but that's more my headcanon than actually gay.

For the most part gay moments outside the player are just hidden easter eggs.
But straight stuff? Everywhere! Can't miss them.

Just found another, after the game on Meridian. As usual, it's tiny very easily missable (since it occurs in banter with Liam as opposed to an initiated conversation), but at least she's a named character who you can actually talk to this time, right? On a positive note, I think the "casually mentioning" approach is definitely the way to go, and this instance does that. It's a lot more natural. As far as Darla herself goes, I have to wonder if the girl she spoke of was a quarian. Would be interesting, especially if she somehow ended up on the Quarian Ark. Talk about "star-crossed lovers" You know, if we had a Quarian Ark DLC... or sequel And to be honest it's a bit odd how many interspecies romances Shepard and Ryder can have compared to how few we see elsewhere in the universe (excepting asari), so that would be something too. Occasionally you hear about quarians and turians together, at least in vids (and Garrus/Tali possibly). There's Gavorn and a human that was mentioned above. Can't think of any more. Anyway, I'm a bit confused about her/her parents apparently being ambassadors to the Migrant Fleet, simply because it was never mentioned that humans had any of those in the trilogy, and you'd think it might come up during Tali's trial. And sadly, it looks like she's as close as we're going to get to a real quarian in ME:A In the next room as her, I also overheard Jaal talking to some tech named Hunter, complimenting him in a fairly flirty way. "I don't know why they didn't immediately awaken a man with your obvious expertise " "Thanks son, I like you too." They then talk about exchanging tech hacks and Hunter compliments Jaal's skill at modding his Kett rifle. So that's... interesting. Lee doesn't think that was there until the patch. If true, it's probably flirty. Jaal needs to end up with my NPScott though

The quarian ark is supposedly the subject of the third Andromeda novel, Annihilation, whenever that's supposed to be out. Given that it got pushed back, I guess it got bumped back to resolve things instead of lead into DLC...
Yeah, I'd been campaigning heavily for a bi quarian LI in Andromeda the whole way through, and was disappointed that wasn't on the table.

I just remembered there's a human woman and a turian woman getting handsy with each other in the bar on the Nexus
