Yaaaaasssss queens! (LOL) Okay, my favs of all time -- Bob, Alaska, Katya, Bendela, and Bianca. I love a comedy queen. I'm also a big fan of Shea, Latrice, and Jujubee (all funny, but not comedy queens per se). Honorable mention to Tammie for just being Tammie. LOL. S10 is shaping up to be pretty good. It feels like an older season (and I mean that in a good way). My thoughts: Love - Cracker, Monet, Mayhem Like - Blair, Monique, Eureka Meh - Yuhua, Dusty, Kameron, Vanessa Dislike - Asia, Kalorie (dumbest drag name ever) Hate - Vixen (too much drama), Aquaria (too much ego) Cracker has been doing a recap show on youtube for a bit (before she was announced as a contestant on S10). She's funny. I like a quick, witty gal. Monet does sound SO MUCH like Bob, it's disconcerting. But they are drag sisters (making her Cracker's drag auntie), so it makes sense. Mayhem is a big deal off the show so I'm glad that she's finally getting her chance. She's gorgeous (as both a girl and guy) and I know she can be funny (even if she hasn't shown it yet), so I hope she shows up this season. Vixen needs to go NOW. I like drama, but not forced drama. She's going to be tiring to watch. Aquaria reminds me of a cross between the worst parts of Violet, Fame, and Gia. Young, arrogant, and full of herself. Barf. So glad there's a thread to talk about this. I love this show so much! The Bob thing-I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice it! It's odd. I loved Bob though-so that's probably why it's kind of awkward for me. I hope he does well, but at the same time the other queens are more interesting cause they feel more unique. This week spoilers: I was sad to see Eureka struggling so early on, and I wanted Kalorie to last longer, but she was doing poorly so it was fair for sure for her to exit when she did. |

Have yet to see the latest season 10 episode, still in shook over who went out first, did not see that coming. Legit thought that queen would have been in it for weeks. I'll get around to episode 2 tonight.

I love Alyssa as well. I haven't gotten a chance to watch her season, but I loved her in All Stars 2. With Blair, well...as one reviewer put it, "He's a whole box of twinks." I find it fascinating that he looks older as a drag queen than out of drag. The Vixen is getting on my last good nerve. Sure, she said that she was there to fight, but it seems like she's starting shit for the sake of it. She strikes me as putting on a role for reality TV as opposed to being her more honest self. Her drag is awesome, but her ego is putting freaking Milk to shame. Shangela was abrupt and at times very bitchy, but at least I didn't feel like she was putting on some bullshit act. Last week's lip synch felt like an utter waste of time. When judges starting saying that Kalorie wasn't very good to her face and then things like "I don't see what she brings to drag," it was all over. You can even see it on Ru's face. I like Kalorie, but Eureka is honestly more polished and frankly better at this point. I am rooting for Kalorie. And I'm hoping she leaves New Mexico. It's a kinda crappy state, no offense to folks that might be from there. The Aquaria vs Kameron "drama" is kinda meh. I mean, it's probably there, but it seems like the show's producers are trying to make it more than it is. It isn't a real issue, more like a minor catfight. Also, I think I'm getting old. I see a 21 year old drag queen complaining about their looks being stolen and I find it adorable. I'm rooting for Dusty Ray Bottoms. She's good and I think her signature look is pretty cute. I hope though that she continues to listen to the judges at least for the competition. That being said, I'm hoping for another Club Kid-style challenge ala Season 9. I think that Dusty would slay it. I also loved her Tin Man gone sci-fi gone runway from the first episode and I think Michelle was being needlessly a bitch. "Be your truest self!" (Later) "I'd like to see you not do your signature look. It's ugly." Me:  She does that a lot. |

Cracker talks about the drama between her and Aquaria on her youtube review show (Review with a Jew). She basically says that she couldn't care less about it. It sounds like it's mostly Aquaria bucking for screen time and/or producer interference.
I'm hoping it chills out because I'm already over it. It's a bit like the AlyssaxCoco drama, but not as fresh and Aquaria is a fucking twat. LOL.

So this episode was pretty lackluster. Those "ads" were underwhelming.
I continue to dislike The Vixen and Aquaria very much. The Vixen seems to want to have it both ways: "I'm here to fight" and "Why are you making me into the 'Angry Black Woman'?" I agree with her that the optics of her yelling at a crying pretty white girl is unfair given what a shit Aquaria is. But......I'm pretty sure that The Vixen came in knowing that this was exactly the storyline she was going for. It feels contrived. And Aquaria is EXHAUSTING. Ugh. She's all drama and thinks she's this tough, quick girl, but she's really in over her head with this. I can't stand people like her.
I'm also finding Monique and Asia to be total shit-stirrers. Their hands are all over all of the drama. I see it. And they think they are so slick.
Still very much enjoying Cracker, Mayhem, and Monet the most. Mayhem had a bad week, but at least she wasn't all drama. And that LSFYL was pretty damned good. Interestingly, my husband HATES Monet. I don't see it, but he thinks she's completely full of herself and not nearly as good as she thinks she is. Honorable mentions to both Blaire and Dusty who are much better than I thought they'd be, especially Blaire.
And, even though I think she's a shit-stirrer, I think Asia is a really talented queen. She's gorgeous (that mug!) and her costumes are excellent. And she can dance, lip sync, and this episode proved she's not afraid to be ugly and funny, which is always nice to see on a pageant girl. She's in it for the long haul, I suspect. Like Trinity last season.

And how quickly you can be turfed out on your ass in this comp, she was one of the stronger queens in the acting challenge the week previous iirc. For a brief moment I had hopes she'd be a strong comedy queen competitor and I looked very much forward to what she had to bring in the weeks to come but alas, no. She wrote that dialogue herself, oh boy.  Suppose Michelle is kinda relived she won't get anymore back talk now eh.  Blair is fast becoming a favourite of mine too, that chocolate bar casting bit was hilarious, dance Blair, faster, FASTER!!!  And sharing this cos, everyone likes puns!  |

TFW you thought it was Wednesday but it's only Tuesday. I was looking forward to watching the next episode during my lunch break tomorrow. Now I gotta wait another day!  On the plus side, at least I was able to catch up on the Boot or Toot fashion reviews vids. Love these. Still bummed that Dusty Ray is gone, that queen had more to give. Hopefully Eureka or the Vixen will get canned next, ain't got time for their manufactured dramalama.  Also, did anyone else spot the ME3 purgatory music that they used in the last episode? My ME nerd heart skipped a beat fam!  |

Ru tends to spare girls when they have big emotional breakdowns on the runway. Remember Roxxxy's "bus stop" breakdown? So I thought for sure that there would be a non-elimination. Especially since The Vixen very clearly beat Blaire in the lip sync. She couldn't really justify keeping Blaire over her. Although, the rumor mill for this season has said that the real reason why Blaire went home was because she had a court date for a DUI. TMZ apparently broke that story, so anyone following the spoilers/rumors has known that Blaire was a mid-season elimination because she was back in Indiana in court while the season was still filming.
General thoughts (also spoilered since it only aired last night)
This season is a really welcomed change back to "old school" Drag Race. It feels more like one of the earlier seasons in many ways. The drama, the mini-challenges, the contestant story arcs. It is all making me forget about the trainwreck that was All Stars 3.
At this point, I'm firmly in Miz Cracker's camp. I just really enjoy her. Her looks are polished. She's consistently one of the quickest wits. And I love how "real" she is backstage. She's very up front with her communication and she's genuinely a caring person. She's a total package, in my opinion. So it sucked to see her in the bottom 3 this week. I'm torn on Monet. I think she's hysterical, but she's just a little too unpolished. Her looks are rarely showstoppers. Her acting always seems a little unprepared. Her wigs are never really interesting (she does that pixie cut because it's easy to pull off). I want to root for her, but I'm having a hard time defending her when she's so mediocre all the time. But I find her just really, really funny. Like I want to go meet her and hang out. And I don't get that vibe from many of the other queens.
I think the narrative seems to be pushing an Asia win. She's hyper professional and crazy polished. That dandelion look? Are you shitting me? That was gorgeous. Gagged. It was stunning. And she had her "knocked down and now realizes she needs to compete harder" moment without ending up in the bottom 3. I think she's getting the win. Eureka is also getting a really strong edit, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the two of them and one more (Aquaria? Cracker? Monique?) in the final. Interesting statistic -- there has never been a winner who has ended up in the bottom 2 prior to episode 5. If that holds up, it might be more evidence that this is Asia's season. I'd be okay with her winning. There hasn't been an "established" queen winner since Bianca in Season 6. And Asia brings a nice diversity to the wins since there also hasn't been a "pageant queen" winner ever, has there?

Hilarious. I never liked Roxxxy much. |
