So I'm not sure if this has been done before here, but if not lets go!
Rank all the Bioware games you played, from best to worst. You can include a brief summary of why for each one if you would like as well. I'm just curious what are the most favorites here.
I'll start, from the ones I played:
1. Mass Effect 2 2. Mass Effect 3 3. Star Wars: Old Republic 4. Mass Effect: Andromeda 5. Dragon Age Inquisition 6. Mass Effect 1 7. Star Wars: KOTOR 1
I still have pending to play the first two Dragon Age games so things can change with those for me, I'll be playing them this year for sure.
Mass Effect 2 for me comes in first because it was really the one that started my love for Bioware's style of story game. Seeing all things that happened in the first game come with changes and consequences in this sequel was impactful for me. Catching up with old friends and see what they been up to.
Mass Effect 3 was my most hyped game after that, and while it wasn't perfect it was still a pretty exciting conclusion to the journey of Shepard. The DLCs also helped for me to fill out some gasps.
Star Wars Old Republic: the latecomer in this ranking, but a welcomed one. With the expansions this game really shifted for me and became more the bioware story driven game experience I wanted but in the world of Star Wars. I finally got to feel in some ways part of the world of Star Wars with my character. I feel this is definitely the most connected I felt with a custom character I made.
Mass Effect Andromeda: well you already heard me talk about this one a bunch but yeah I still love it. The core ideas of the game, the squad and Ryder were a fresh air for me while still covering similar territory. Had to put Old Republic a bit higher though now because Andromeda does drag on a bit with its fetch open world quests and the Gil and Reyes Romance deserved more.
Dragon Age Inquisition: A really great one as well, first gay romance experience and all! Presentation is just excellent on this game in my opinion. Maybe it will grow more on my list once I play the other ones.
Mass Effect 1: a great game for sure too! It is the start of the franchise after all, I just think it hasn't aged well to replay compared to the previous ones. Story is more formal too.
Star Wars KOTOR: the first bioware game I played I believe, great characters and story but hated the combat, I was terrible on it lol. Maybe with my old republic experience now I can go back to it.
In the end I really enjoyed them all one way or another.
What's your ranking?!!

For me I'd say *I'll add some thoughts*
1. ME2
If you know me for any period of time you will know ME2 is my favorite mass effect game and one of my favorite recent games period. I loved everything about it. From the Normandy SR-1 being destroyed in the intro to the ultra badassness of the illusive mans theme and how he handles himself to my love liara threating to flay people alive with her mind. The combat was improved, the classes were greatly improved, the voice acting was on point, the renegade interupts were awesome and the music and feel of afterlife just reeked of seedy vibes. The suicide mission is one of the greatest end game missions I can recall in recent memory and the fact every single character including the main character can die is icing on a very sweet cake. I will forever sings praises for this game.
2. ME1
This game was one of the primary reasons I bought an xbox 360. I remember seeing ads for it somewhere and seeing the alien characters I was immediately interested in it. I ended up playing vanguard first but didn't like it so went soldier. I absolutely loved the universe bioware created. It really felt like you were playing something that was organic. I remember the first time going to the citidel and just being in awe. This game really set the precedent for me to romance non humans in a game if giving a choice and I jumped on Liara as soon as I could. Saren was probably the best villian in the OT imo as you really saw the true horror of indoctrination with hi. The vigil reveal was huuuge and I still get massive feels hearing vigils theme. The combat was definitly the weakest part of the game but overall still a fantastic adventure.
3. ME3
I liked ME3 after I replayed it with the extended cut in place. I don't really remember the original ending but I rushed the game and choose destroy so I kinda got the bad ending. I would have liked to see more horror the reapers unleashed with the slaughter ships but seeing the monstrosities the reapers created did good as well. I don't really feel as strongly with 3 as the first 2 but I really loved the citadel dlc and thought it was a really good ending to the OT as a whole. I was deeply upset with how the illusive man was handled because I loved him so much in 2.
4. Neverwinter nights
This technically was the first bioware game I played and having dabled lightly in Dungeons and Dragons I had a lot of fun playing it. I typically go magic caster in these kinds of games and played a wizard. I remember really enjoying the story and how crazy it got at times. It has been forever since I played it so I don't remember much but I did enjoy it at the time.
5. ME:A
Oh Andromeda, the one game that forced me to never hype up a game again. The combat is the best in the series but that is about it. I don't have to go on about the problems of this game but Vetra is the only reason I'm replaying it. I think thats about it.
Those are the ones I actually finished. I played most of DA:O and DA:I but didn't finish them so I'm not counting them. Same with KOTOR
So I'll go ahead and talk about what I remember from dragon age
6. DA:O
I don't even remember how far I got when this game came out before I stopped playing. I never really got into dragon age but I certainly understand why people love the series. I loved Morrigan because she is hooooot but yea no non human romances makes me sad.
7. DA:I
I got pretty far before I stopped playing it. I enjoyed it enough but the power level grind or whatever to unlock new areas turned me off. I like Cass but didn't like the lack of non human romances.
8. KOTOR
I got pretty far in this but was borrowing a friends xbox so I never finished it. I really enjoyed this game but made the mistake of not picking either light or dark side so my character was pretty weak.

1.Mass Effect 3/Dragon Age Origins: I could never, ever really choose between these two. For so many reasons, I absolutely love both and have very many fond memories of them. They came into my life at a time when I really needed them. I played the Mass Effect Trilogy before playing the Dragon Age games, but that didn't make Dragon Age feel like the "lesser" franchise at all. Mass Effect 3 felt like the near-perfect conclusion to an amazing trilogy. I just loved the darker/more depressing "end of the world" atmosphere that the game had, and how it was reflected pretty well in the game through the characters and NPCs. There were so many emotional moments that really struck me playing through it the first time...from losing Kelly to a stupid mistake to happier moments like Kaidan's love confession to a male Shepard. This was the first game where I ever got to play as an openly gay male and Kaidan was my first video game boyfriend. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I still remember how happy I was during their date with "I Was Lost Without You" playing during their scenes together. That became of my favorite video games songs instantly because of how beautiful it is and how it makes me feel...reminding me of their beautiful romance. I cried so many times during this game because of how attached I had become to the world and characters...and the Citadel DLC was like the perfect end to a perfect game. I'll never stop loving this game. Dragon Age Origins was the first RPG I had played in years. I was immediately drawn into the world thanks to how beautifully designed it was and the amazing soundtrack to go along with it. I loved the idea of being able to play as a gay male in a medieval fantasy setting. I was able to quickly fall in love with most of the characters and loved speaking to them at the party camp with that beautiful song playing in the background...and I remember how hard I fell for Alistair...wishing he was a gay romance option. Despite not getting the man of my dreams, I really loved getting to know the world of Thedas. I felt Awakening was a step in the right direction as well, adding more to an already great game and I wish they had stayed in this direction instead of abandoning everything that made me fall in love with this world in favor of the more boring, generic fantasy game Inquisition was...ugh... 2. Dragon Age 2: For a while I actually favored this one over Origins. I had fallen in love with Anders in Awakening and loved that he had been a bisexual romance with an ex-boyfriend instead of being straight. I got really lucky with this one, haha. I loved his romance with a male Hawke and how he was important to the story as well instead of being optional like the last gay option Origins had offered. I loved that Dragon Age 2 was a smaller, more personal story centered around a beautifully designed city with so much potential! I loved all of the characters...except Varric...I wish I could delete his existence or something haha. The DLC was top-quality as well and I loved getting out of Kirkwall, especially with Tallis. I loved Dragon Age Redemption, which felt like a "companion series" for this game. 3. Mass Effect 2: I loved that this one was more character-driven than the original game. I loved the Normandy's redesign and the additional crew members that were more fleshed out this time around...especially Kelly! One of the best characters in the trilogy! The DLC was also a major improvement over the first game and was so much fun. This game was much better off without the open-world exploration with instead focusing on places like Illium and Omega. The suicide mission was so intense and I loved the lead-up to it as well as the story of the Collectors. I was so proud of myself for keeping everyone alive. It might be "filler" but that didn't bother me one bit. 4. Mass Effect: This was an excellent introduction to a great franchise. While it does have the weakest gameplay of the franchise, there's still so much to love about it. It has an excellent soundtrack as well. I loved that Vigil's Theme was used for the main menu and stayed throughout the trilogy...it was perfect. Even though the planets were mostly empty, they were absolutely beautiful and had a certain "charm" to them exploring in the Mako. I loved the characters in their beginnings as well...and the Virmire decision broke my heart but only added to an already amazing experience. 5. Mass Effect Andromeda: This was the first Mass Effect game I played on release. I remember being so excited for any news regarding the game as well as any new videos and information on gay content. I lurked BSN and kept an eye on the unofficial "gay" threads there (Reyes and later Gil, haha) and was so excited when news on Reyes and Gil started leaking. Playing the trial and later the game itself was so much fun...I played through two times and was even considering a third when they announced they were fixing Scott's "gay romances". I felt the game was a major, major improvement over Inquisition and was so excited for what was to come...it felt like it had so much potential for setting up a new "trilogy" or something. I absolutely loved Scott and Gil, despite his poor romance. Despite everything...I still didn't feel like it could top the original trilogy...but that might just be nostalgia talking, honestly. Great game, poorly handled development...and absolutely unforgivable what they did to gay males. - - - - - ...99. Dragon Age Inquisition: Ugh...this game...there's a lot I like about it...but there's a lot I despise as well. It made the Dragon Age franchise become a mere shadow of its former self. Thedas had become completely unrecognizable. It felt like a generic fantasy RPG with no personality and nothing to make it stand out. It didn't feel like Dragon Age at all. The character creator was just terrible. It was an awful idea to make all hairstyles have shaved/partially-shaved heads and available to both males and females. The NPCs looked ridiculous because of it. The redesign of so many things yet again made it feel like something else and not Dragon Age. It really took me out of the world. The open world was just so poorly handled...there were way too many open areas with absolutely nothing to do. They did not need to be so large. They could have cut out half of those areas and the game would have been better off for it. We didn't need so many deserts and forests with the same "find this note and kill these creatures for a reward" type quests. We didn't need shards and astrariums. We needed actual NPCs to interact with, towns with personality and life, interesting side quests with multiple ways to solve thing...you know...like an actual RPG that Dragon Age once was. Don't even get me started on how all three KISA romances were straight while gay men got two stereotypes again... If Cullen hadn't had his gay romance cut I would've enjoyed this game a lot more, honestly. He would've made the game rank so much higher. That said...I do think this game does shine when it comes to the main quests and characters. I loved most of the companions and the main story was pretty interesting, despite never reaching its full potential. I love the modded gay Cullen romance. Sera is the best, right next to Isablea in my list of favorite characters. The tavern songs were an excellent addition and I enjoy listening to them. The DLC was a major improvement and I felt was much better than the game itself. Trespasser felt like a great way to end things and the true ending of the game. I do love Inquisition, but I don't blindly love it and deny that it is a very flawed game. I've played Knights Of The Old Republic, but never finished it. It was a very good game and I enjoyed what I played. ...But the game was ridiculously difficult. I played 40 hours...half of those hours were deaths and restarts and that is NOT okay...I just gave up after dying by sand people for the millionth time. Maybe someday I'll give it another chance because I really did enjoy it and want to see it through to the end.

Dragon Age: Origins
First Bioware game I played, like as I said many times, I'm a newbie compared to some of you, I didnt do much gaming back then (unless it was Pokemon) and it was DAO what drew me to gaming again thanks to a friend of mine, I didnt even know there were actual lgbtq representation in games, he told me that I could romance a male elf and even though I did mods to romance Alistair the experience was so real that I had to look up for people like me, and here I am. The story, the companions, the music and my own experience made this game my favorite BW game, even with their issues or tropes, and Alistair romance had to do a lot with it even if it is not real for Bioware it is real for me. Those camp conversations man, there is a certain charming intimacy to talk next to the fire, just lovely.
Dragon Age 2
As much as annoying those repeat stages and respawn of enemies can be, I think DA2 may be one of the most groundbreaking stories from Bioware if not the most to me, you dont need gods or evil machines to show evil, evil within human soul or the different shades of grey can be really terrifying, the political plot of this game is just top for me and their "soul-broken" companions feel very human and real.
Mass Effect 3
The ending could have been better for sure but I felt really invested into the plot and the companions, I remember how shaking I was when I thought Miranda could die or how in love I was with Kaidan romance, how nice it was to finally self-insert in the franchise. The goodbye scene? My heart was a mess. I dont even hate the endings but I would have put a happy one for those who want it.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
All the BW games have their issues with lgbtq stuff but I feel this one it's the most important regarding good representation and that GLAAD award is just a proof of it, even with their issues that we have discussed several times. This game gave me Iron Boo and he was the first option that I actually wanted before knowing the character lol I prefer fantasy over scifi that too.
Mass Effect: Andromeda
You know those trips when your car breaks one of their wheels and you are really pissed off and want to kill someone? But then it gets fixed and you return to whatever pleasent destination you were waiting to arrive? I dont even have a car but I think this analogy is a good example about how I feel about this game XD I played the game without seeing those bugs or lame animations, and holy papa Jaal was absolutely worth it, best m/m romance to date with actual nudity and sex scene. Thank you #makeJaalbi people and it was an awesome experience to be with those people and winning the battle!
Mass Effect 1 / Mass Effect 2
Self-insertion is really important to me with RPGs and these game didnt deliver, as much as I think that the Suicide Mission is one of the top scenarios of ME franchise, every time I play these games I couldnt relate to Shepard that much, great companions, great start about lore, but without the self-insertion is really difficult for me to fell in love with something. I think I prefer ME1 over ME2 tho.

Firstly, I should say that I love single-player BioWare games in general, so even the bottom games on this list are still among my favourite games ever:
1=. DAO/DAI. These are my most played games on Steam and Origin respectively. I have nearly 1000 hours logged in Origins and over 2000 in Inquisition, and I have never once played DAMP. Both games just drew me in and made me want to replay many times. I guess that's what comes from being able to play as multiple races as well as both sexes. Morrigan and Sera are my two favourite one-game romances. 3=. ME Trilogy. I love each game for different reasons, and I can't easily separate them. 1 has my favourite main story. 2 has great side quests and DLC and the Suicide Mission. 3 has all the feels... And (sorry to those who don't like her) they all have Liara... 6. KotOR. That twist. Bastilla... This game, along with Deus Ex before, shook my idea of how a game could be to its foundations. The best Star Wars game ever made. 7. MEA. It had great potential. I loved the crew. I loved Suvi. I think it plays well, but the fact that it was abandoned without the DLC it deserved means it can't be higher. 8. DA2. I love the idea of the story. I love sarcastic Hawke. I just didn't click with the romances as much as other games, and the shortcuts taken to rush the game out were just too irritating. 9. Jade Empire. I enjoyed it, but unlike most BioWare games I don't feel a great compulsion to replay.

KOTOR: has the most interesting protagonist of their games. I love the universe, the plot and the way you can follow the course of the story by visiting different planetes in a random order. You have a clear goal and a clear mission, and yet you also have lots of choices. Plus you can be good and evil. I just wish, it had gay romances and a romanceable male character that's as interesting and important as Bastila... DA2: Each character is romanceable, plus each orientation has at least one story relevant character (Anders and Isabella). I also like that you can give Hawke different personalities (sarcastic Hawke rules!) and the friendship/enemy system that affects the relantionship with your companions. I love the mage/templar conflict and the qunari plot, and how the conflicts strengthen after each chapter. In addition to that, the game has many side quests. SWTOR: has a very big universe, lot's of planetes to explore, different stories depending on your class, lots of additional content with great plots. And you can be good and evil. I just wish the original stories had gay/lesbian romances... ME3: Kaidan romance for guys (yay!), plus I like how the reaper menace becomes more and more visible with each destroyed planet. The gay/lesbian romance could have been better though. And I hate the way they treated Jacob. MEA: all worlds are build in the same way, you can't choose Saras and Scotts personality and give your twin the other one, you don't have good/evil choices anymore. The gay romances kinda suck. Yet, I'm happy about bi Jaal (finally!) and I like the idea of a different galaxy far far away, with new species and new problems. ME1: No gay romances. The spoken dialoges don't always fit to the dialoge wheel. The companions seem a little bit boring and only have few conversations. Yet, I like the story and the random order in which you can travel to the planets. DAI: all worlds are build in the same way, there are too many fetch quests, Solas is straight you can't be good/evil, you don't have many choices, the game is too short. Coripheus is kinda boring. Yu can't give your inquisitor much personality. The camera perspective is often too far away from the characters, plus many NPC's are boring as hell.. Yet, I like the fantasy setting and the characters. DAO: I don't like being forced to be a grey warden. Always hated Duncan for forcing me... The straight characters (Morrigan, Alistar) are more interesting and story relevant than the bisexual options (although Leliana becomes more interesting in DAI). I don't like the Morrigan baby chice you have to make, especially if you're a female warden and in a romance with Alistar. Yet, I like how big the game is and how many dialogue and good/evil choices you have. Jade Empire: I like the setting and the story. But the romanceable female characters are far more interesting than the male one. Don't get me wrong, I like strong and interesting female characters. But I hate if the male characters are boring in comparison (same problem with the original SWTOR romances or the Carth romance in KOTOR). Plus, the fighting system and role playing part could be better. ME2: seems very linear, doesn't have gay romances. I don't like renegade Shepards personality in that game. He seems like a jerk. Th companions don't have many conversations, especially if you don't romance them. Yet, the idea of the protheans is kinda interesting, and I like the suicide mission.

Well well well if I have to choose.... is this come from overall perspective not just about romance and LGBT representative right.
(1) Mass Effect 3 Fun to play, dramatic story for every character from trilogy. And finally give me Kaidan, sexy handsome guy to love plus Steve Cortez as quality character. ( I don't have problem with The Ending with Extended cut)
(2) Dragon Age II I really like action element from this game. Despite reuse map, lazy romance scene and the darkside Ander & Fenris have. This game is one of most replayable game for me.
(3) Jade Empire Still my favourite since this is the first game I can be gay and can romance guy. I like the way player have to do if we want to romance him. Plus Chinese theme is familiar to my country and I love magic/battle style in this game.
(4) Dragon Age Origin Overall this is good game. I really like Camping feature, Many impressive moment come from this place. Battle system is too slow compare to other game.
(4) Dragon Age Inquisition Story and Graphic is good, Companion and romance is mostly good (Except Sera). PC Control is annoying in my opinion. Still have some replayable value.
(4) Mass Effect Andromeda Even Bioware originally treat gay player a second citizen, This game still be fun to play is most past (except every puzzle thing in this game) Graphic is good, Liam is my favourite squadmate (really want to romance him). Reyes is fantastic, I just want him to be full romance.
(4) Star Wars Knight of the old republic Even I have play as Jedi who is secretly gay (I can't tell or do anything to be official gay but still). Game is very fun to play.
(4) Mass Effect 2 I like battle system in this game. It's very fun to play, Squadmate is very interesting and suicide mission is my favourtie. If this game have romance for gay player, it will be perfect.
(5) Mass Effect I only play this game once (To make my canon Shepard). The game is OK but I barely remember anything special from Mass Effect so...
(6) Never Winter Night I can't even finish this game. It's too hard for me... so that why this game become the bottom on my list.

eh, this is going to be a challenge I suppose, hmm..I've only played 8 of their games I think:
8th: Mass Effect 1-you see lots of people bragging on this one, but it's void of gay m/m content and it's very repetitive with the repeated rooms. It's still an okay game mind you.
7th: Jade Empire: It's a fun game, but the fact there was no kiss implemented for the gay romances is pretty shitty honestly.
6th: Mass Effect 2: a better game then the first one, but still void of any gay male content.
5th: Dragon Age Origins: this is a great game! But it hasn't aged so well. It seems to have a lot of issues even on pc, (course my pc could be lame though)still fun and I have to say even at this point the top 5 games are all super great games and I'm just splitting hairs!
4th: Mass Effect 3 The ending really holds it back, but it is still an amazing game! Plus Bi Kaidan FINALLY!!!
3rd: Dragon Age 2 to be fair you can probably put this as a tie with Inquisition, but I didn't want to go there-so I picked this as third simply cause it has the most game play downers (repeated enironments, and such). But it has the best romances as far as Dragon Age goes though-so that's why it's hard to judge it worse or better.
2nd: Dragon age Inquisition This is only higher than 2 because I adore the graphics, the story, and it has a lot more variety in places, and environments. The romances sadly took a step back for me personally-and ugh straight kisa-BioWare pls!
1st: Mass Effect Andromeda I know it gets a lot of shit, but is my favorite BioWare game now. It has Jaal, fairly good combat with a lot of variety of powers and toys to use. I have a feeling I'll continue to replay it more than the others for the foreseeable future.

1: Mass Effect 2I didn't play the first ME cause I was pretty much in a fantasy-or-bust kind of state until I was visiting my brother and saw him playing the suicide mission. Figured i'd give it a shot after that... SO glad I did. ME2 is easily one of my top 5 games ever. It will always kill me that Garrus was a hetero option only, but I generally prefer femshep to mshep. Best avian space-cricket husband ever conceived. Ball's in your court now Avitus.2: Dragon Age OriginsAbsolutely loved the world they built in the first game. Was reading every codex entry I could get my hands on, reloading the same pre-dialogue saves in order to get more info from the dialogue options (Good lord did it take me forever to figure Sten out). Story is a bit cliche I suppose, but man do I love Thedas. Also Morrigan/Alistair banter. give me a whole game of that please... but gay Alistair. 3: DA2I didn't like the game when it first came out. Not because of the reused levels like most people seem to harp on, I just didn't like the way they framed the story. Wish they had the time and resources to not bother with the massive time skips and just provide an uninterrupted story line. That said, the game has grown on me A LOT the last couple years. Mostly because I can now appreciate just how rare it is to have such amazingly written dialogue/banter. Gaider writes amazing snark. Sadistic, but talented. 4: Dragon Age InquisitionI really really love my inquisitor, my geeky awkward elfy artificer. Didn't even need to romance anyone in DAI to leave it satisfied. I mean I gave Bull a go, was pretty great, but the power dynamic was way off. Much better with a tal-vashoth inquisitor. Will be pretty damn upset if I cant import my Lavellan though. He was the most accurate depiction of how I wanted a main character to be in spite of being a voiced protagonist. ME:3 > ME:1 > ME:A for the rest. 3/4 of ME:3 was great, I was instantly put off by the whole "Oh, the answer to the reapers was right here the whole time" crap they pulled out of their butts, and anything from Thessia onward is best rewritten in head canon. All i remember about ME:1 really is just how pretty Garrus is to look at. SwoonME:A just makes me bitter. So very bitter.

Very interesting rankings so far, quite a lot of variety in general! Some high top on some lists while others have them on the bottom. But its great to see how some have impacted you more one way or another. It does show why singleplayer story games are so important in that sense. Also hello to some of the new posters I may have not seen before , thanks for sharing your rankings! So far no one has played Sonic Chronicles: Dsrk brotherhood it seems. I got that game as a Sonic fan, didn't make it past the first world LOL. Sonic and Bioware my favorites together at the time it came out, what could possibly go wrong... well everything. I mean it wasn't terrible, it just doesn't match together the two personally.

Ah I love ranking!
7. ME 2
No gay romance. No squadmates that I feel invested in. No feeling of discovery and exploration that was in the previous ME game. Average gameplay. The only highlight from the game is suicide mission. 6. DAO
I dislike the stiff gameplay but like RPG aspects and challenging combat. I was hoping for Alistair as a gay romance (the mod did not exist back then) but got severely disappointed which tainted my view of the game ever since. The game has not aged well so I don't feel like playing it again with mods at this time
5. and 4. MEA and DAI
Both suffer from endless and uninspiring fetch quests that only serve to dilute the experience. Both games look fantastic however. For DAI, the character creation is wonderful and I like IB romance. Exploring in the first playthrough can be quite fun. Dorian romance is disappointing but serviceable (that ass!). Gameplay is fine but can get repetitive near the end due to the limitation of ability slots.
For MEA, the fiasco that is pre-launch and launching of the game strongly turned me off from the game, though I managed to finish one playthrough. The combat is the best among all ME games, but still it suffers from the only 3-slot and too basic squadmate controls. MEA looks very great as well. I quite like Gil romance despite how problematic it is. I still have not tried Jaal romance myself since I have other games I am more invested in.
3. ME 1
No gay romance, dated graphic and gameplay, too many fetch quests. But ME 1 is the only Bioware game that ever gives me the sense of wonder from exploration and learning about the ME universe. The highlight is the conversations with Sovereign and Prothean VI.
2. DA 2
Anders, I love him. He's the best Bioware romance for me to this date. It's both dramatic and passionate. I find myself like all the companions except for the one from a DLC that I did not buy haha. The gameplay is more fluid than DAO and still retains many cool abilities that are lost in DAI. I love that in DA2 we don't play as a savior who saves the world/galaxy for once.
1. ME 3
Kaidan! I love that finally I get to romance him. I spent so much time maximizing his romance content in my many playthroughs. I like the combat in the games and like all the classes (play each of them at least twice). The leaving earth scene/intro is amazing, as it really captures the feeling of desperation and loss. The Tuchanka arc is the best arc in ME games, because it gives the satisfying conclusion to genophage. The arc is strengthened by the sacrifice of Mordin which makes the whole thing more poignant. ME3 also has the best music in any ME games (ME 1 is close 2nd).

Yeah, so it turns out I will ramble forever if you let me. I'm sticking my list behind a spoiler, because it is ridiculously huge otherwise. 11. Dragon Age: Origins – I’m probably gonna get some pushback on this one, but even when it came out I thought DAO was ridiculously overhyped, and IMO it doesn’t wear its age well. I kind of feel like DAO is a pretty good illustration of the difference between writing good moments and writing a good story – there are a few scenes in the game that absolutely kill it, but those scenes are dragged down by the overall story arc, which has too many weak points and which doesn’t hang together as a coherent narrative. Also, nothing against Zevran fans, but he’s pretty much the polar opposite of my type, and finding out he was the only gay option was a punch in the gut. On a purely selfish level, I’d almost rather not have a gay option at all than get only one gay option that feels like he was tailor-made to piss me off.
10. Dragon Age: Inquisition – Pseudo-open world was boring. Most of the companions didn’t really evolve in ways that were interesting to watch. The writing was pro-Chantry to the point I got severely bored with it, not just because I don’t like the Chantry, but because I like having to deal with different viewpoints on my team and DAI failed to deliver that. And the writing had the same problem as DAO, good moments that didn’t add up to a good story. Iron Bull is Zevran 2.0, and Dorian lost my interest for a thousand different reasons, some of which I’ve already ranted about here so I won’t bore you with ‘em again.
9. Neverwinter Nights – This is definitely a game that exists! I dunno, NN was the first BioWare title I ever played, so it does have a bit of nostalgia value, but otherwise it earns a solid meh. Not bad, not good, I don’t want to criticize it too harshly but I don’t really have anything nice to say about it.
8. Mass Effect 1 – I feel bad ranking ME1 this low, because I know a lot of my problems come from the fact that it’s the first part of the trilogy. If I replay the MET, I’m either playing ME2 on its own or I’m playing the MET as a whole… but if I’m playing the trilogy as a whole, then ME1 starts to give that feeling of needing to finish your vegetables before you can have dessert. I’d enjoy it more if I played it less, but any attempt at being objective here just gets washed away by the fact that playing ME1 has started to feel like a chore to me.
7. The Old Republic – I almost want to judge all the starting origins separately here, since there’s such a range between good and bad in terms of writing, but we’d be here all day. I was kinda hesitant to play an MMO because that’s not my scene, but I’m think they handled it well to start with, for the most part. Unfortunately, I feel like the writing went downhill in KotET. Lack of gay options in the base game are an obvious problem, which they at least addressed in the expansions… when the writing was going downhill, so you end up with a frustrating grass-is-greener situation where you’re either ticked off by the quality of the overall story or ticked off because your character is trapped in a compulsory het fest.
6. Mass Effect: Andromeda – Exploration is better than DAI, though it still has its share of problems. I like the characters, but I guess I don’t love them, if you see what I mean; a lot of them feel a bit like retreads. The story was… I have mixed feelings about it, and I’m not sure how to explain my problems with it. Call it mediocre to good, I guess. This would probably rank a few slots lower, but it makes up for a multitude of sins with Jaal, who is everything I ever wanted in an imaginary boyfriend.
5. Knights of the Old Republic – Here’s another nostalgia-tinged classic, but unlike Neverwinter Nights I think it lives up to the hype. The first game that really pinned down the BioWare formula, a lot of my problems with it I can chalk up to the learning curve. And the second act twist is dead the hell on, exactly the kind of execution writers want to bring to the table. The lack of options for gay men is an obvious problem, but I’m willing to cut the writers some slack given the behind-the-scenes slap match over whether they could make Juhani a lesbian.
4. Mass Effect 3 – ME3 brought tons of drama and IMO really nailed the feel of a hopeless, grinding war, while still being a solid and fun sci fi shooter. Granted the third act falls apart (obviously the ending, but I also think Thessia doesn’t get enough crap thrown in its direction) but the first two acts were fantastic and IMO mostly make up for it. Also, after playing DAI, I’m more willing to give a game credit for fucking up the ending in an interesting way, instead of just awkwardly stumbling to a halt. A lot of the character arcs that had been building for the trilogy ended here, and even if they didn’t all land, it was an experience. Also, manShep can finally bang Kaidan the way God intended.
3. Mass Effect 2 – I’d have to rank this one lower based on whether I’m judging it as a part of the trilogy or a standalone; I think it introduces some problems to the trilogy that cost ME3 some points. But I tend to play it as a standalone, and by that metric it is amazing. A tight focus on one mission that absolutely delivers as promised, a roster of characters that range from good to outright sublime (people say Jacob’s boring, but I feel like he mostly gets screwed by comparison to everyone else), and a game that IMO captures the feel of the ME universe better than any other in the series. If I could romance Garrus or Thane with a male character, this game would be my number one with no hesitation. As is, frustration over the lack of options means it doesn’t quite hold up to that standard, but it’s still a great game overall.
2. Jade Empire – I am a rabid Jade Empire fan, and I’ve always been sorry that the game didn’t get more attention than it did. Partly because I’m frankly kinda bored of the elf-dragon-medieval-Europe route that every fantasy game seems to go down. Jade Empire’s setting felt genuinely fresh, and I feel like the Celestial Bureaucracy opens up dozens of potential plots for a sequel. The game is short because it has a tight linear plot, and while that would probably hurt it with people who measure game value by the hour, I feel like you end up with a story as good as you’d find in any other BioWare game, without all the time wasted spinning your wheels. Plus you get a plot twist that I’d actually say was better than the one in KotOR, and that’s a hell of a bar to clear. I probably should dock it some points because the way the game handles gay options has aged like milk, but dammit, Sky is still one of my favorite M/M romance options in a BioWare game, possibly my actual favorite. I just can’t do it.
1. Dragon Age 2 – And our winner, proving that I could not possibly care less about whether the dungeons look the same. My favorite thing about this game is the overall plot – most games set up the main problem right away and then spend their entire run going from point A to point B, whereas DA2 is totally character driven, just throwing a bunch of people with complex goals together and watching everything slowly disintegrate as they all act on their own interests and the consequences pile up. It ends up feeling a lot more honest to life than Here Is Evil God, Kill The Evil God. Aside from that, the characters are about as well-written as we’ve seen from BioWare, and while the repetition of environments admittedly takes away a lot from the execution, I still really like the idea of operating out of one city and watching how things evolve over the years.

Scottphoto it's not relate to the question but I really want to ask. Your avatar, who they are? It's look really interesting. Haha no problem. Its's from Star Wars: Old Republic, the left one is the squad/companion romance Theron Shan, can be romanced by both, either a male or a female protagonist, the right one is my custom protagonist character. This particular picture is using a "hug" emote/pose non-story from the game, but they do have a lot of tender cutscene moments in the story itself as well. Its a romance added on the expansions of the game. It's my new romance obsession because I can finally be a gay jedi with a boyfriend , and its a romance with a character that has a lot of screen time in the story too, so there's a really good amount of romance content during the story. It really delivers what I wanted from a SW RPG experience overall too, has it lets you be more free in your character than KOTOR 1. I reccomend it since I see you liked KOTOR but played it like a secret gay jedi. It is an MMO, but the main story content in the game can be all done Singleplayer and plays out like a normal bioware game. The only thing is, the initial first story content doesn't have gay romances, they are added with the expansion stories. So you have to be patient with it but it's been definitely worth it for me. EDIT: After playing the Theron romance in Old Republic now I really understand why Davrin's boobs and many others really wanted Jaal as a romance, because of not only a squadmate but being very plot significant. Someone that your not only romancing, but thats mostly by your side the entire time and cares for you throughout the plot, a romance beyond just talking in the same room. I just didn't see it that way at first maybe because Dorian didn't feel that way despite being a squad member, it still felt it was more about him than "us", with only "us" stuff in the same room with terrible lighting. But now I see it here, and its beautiful. I seen the light

I wish this game wasnt a MMO though I wonder what are the odds for Bioware to make this a non-MMO game in the future when the story is finished (I guess?) because I'm really interested into be a gay jedi as well XD ps. Jaal is precious and too perfect for this world and needs to be protected

One can dream! Jaal is amazing! Yes, Scottphoto , Dorian's content is not a shining example of what BioWare romances can be at their best. Sigh...I'm glad they did better with Jaal-and I hope we get a good gay exclusive romance someday (or they go all bi moving forward one-my prefered desire since I have no faith in them giving a gay exclusive character proper content at this point)

I could save my game file any time und wouldn't have to start a new character each time I regret a certain dialogue choice. That's one of my main issues with multiplayer online games. They always save your progress in real-time. Additionally, a single player swtor can't be taken away from us, once we purchased the disk. An mmorpg shuts down after the company crashed and can never be played again, because the server aren't available anymore. That's what I think at least.

Yep thats been my biggest worry, I been recording just about every cutscene with my main character in the game now in case I never get a chance to play it all again. A packaged edition of the game offline would work pretty well, they already made the important story group/flashpoints be playable as a solo player. So technically all the important story stuff can be put in offline. Being a gay jedi its wonderful. Getting Star wars ish romantic themes in the background, icing in the cake, I do have a Jaal run in the process Davrin's boobs and Lee . On topic of the rankings, lots of love for Jade Empire! Was always curious about that game and how it plays since its a different setting. Noticed also a lot played KOTOR 1 but not KOTOR 2, granted same here XD.
