It's only as I'm reloading and doing some experiments that I realized Solas has banter with each companion you have during that segment in the city. I never even realized and I've finished the game twice. Glad I found it though, Davrin calls him out on his shit, and Lucanis has Spite just being all >:[ at him on Rook's behalf. A shame you only get two per run unless you're fucking around like I am and replaying stuff. I had Davrin with me for last mission and loved how he talked to Solas hehe I didn’t bring Lucanis even though I romanced him, cause I was afraid to mess up and assigned him with Teia urgh { And yay finally finished the first pt! I redeemed Solas though I hated it but it just seems like a better ending, although the scene where everyone talked to him was eye rolling 😝 Loved Neve in the last missions as well, she really did shine and I kinda love her character now haha so I guess I’m ok with her and Lucanis, not bringing them together my next pt anyway but I’m not as angry as I was with adoribull 😤 }

Also, does anyone know if VA for masculine voice 1 voiced any BioWare characters before? The voice is so familiar 🧐

But yeah I missed out on those banters. I think Neve is a nice character, although her act 2 quests were not very exciting to me, I do see Rook and her being very good friends and that he always felt awful not being able to also help her city. The issue with Neve/Lucanis though is that it gets really bad if you don't romance Lucanis. But I can't even say is Neve's fault, but more Lucanis' fault because he is the one being forward flirting with her. And that ultimately sucks, all the little things he does to impress her, when instead if you romance him, you have to do like all the things yourself for the most part. I get that is more of Lucanis feeling like he could be a danger for you, and didn't think it was a good idea to get close with "the boss" but ehhhh. Alex Jordan the brit rook has not been in other bioware games as far as I know and Rook seems like his most major protaognist game role www.imdb.com/name/nm7074735/ now if you mean the other one Jeff Berg, he also hasn't been in much but apparently did extra voices in.... Anthem XD. www.imdb.com/name/nm3108706/?ref_=tt_cst_t_4___________ So I went back on my main Rook before locking romances to try Davrin and I really enjoyed it! The scene I liked the most was the one when the point of no return starts: He starts stressing about this first dangerous mission, how he has a grey warden was not meant to attach himself to anyone, precisely because of this, their survivability is always in danger etc. I thought it was a great romantic tension and I like how Rook does its best to calm him down. And Unlike other romances leading to the banging scene, they actually agree to bang if they both manage to survive this mission, which is why the davrin bang scene starts off also a bit more sexier. Though it does feel a bit weird if you choose the sad dialogue instead at the start of that scene cuz theres like not enough time between that and imma remove your clothes XD. That said I came her for the best bang scene in the game and I was VERY satisfied: I still think Lucanis as my main romance with this main Rook though, because in a lot of ways it felt more like the romance I can see myself having in real life, saw myself a bit in them, and I like a lot how act 3 turns out, makes Lucanis very essential in the main action while also giving us main reactions for Rook because of this, that does make up a bit for the lackluster at times things of act 2 and I can understand the writing approach for it, is just the execution needed to be better and was impacted by a lot cut. BUT, I still need to check out Emmrich, but I'm debating if to quickly run through from lock in scene with main rook again or do a whole new rook for him. Cuz there's a lot of other things I want to try, including picking Miranthous just to get an idea on the differences, also try the other combat classes cuz im already bored out of rouge lol, basically an anti canon run of my choices hahahaha. But I'm also having a terrible time trying to make a new Rook I like XD.

Honestly, at least part of the reason I prefer Jeff Berg is that he sounds more... if not unique in and of himself, then he stands out more. Like I listen to the voice clips of Alex Jordan, he just sounds Generic Fantasy Voice™ to me. Not a slight against him, of course, but just... He sounds to me like any number of voices I expect to hear in fantasy games, and is just not giving me that distinguishing voice among the various other voices.
Like at this point, I have a similar thing about Nicholas Boulton's voice, but Hawke was before that, so Hawke gets a pass.

I use the Jeff Berg voice. I used the deeper version of his voice for my qunari, but yeah his default speaking voice is my preferred one. I might use it even if I play another qunari again. He's just "Rook" to me. I think I tend to go for the softer male voice generally because I just can't relate to having a deep voice.

I don't know if my build is just better or I'm more confident in the combat or what but my Evoker at 30 feels wildly more powerful than my Reaper at 50.

Like at this point, I have a similar thing about Nicholas Boulton's voice, but Hawke was before that, so Hawke gets a pass. I'll be honest, to me is the opposite hahaha. I hear Jeff's voice and I just automatically think every haha funny hero guy we see in hollywood or traditional cartoon character voice, makes me think the marvel studios voice or something. Where as Alex is just a lot more different to me from what I normally hear and is a lot more interesting to see that type of voice be funny. But that just speaks on the different media we consume on a regular basis, I don't really watch or consume too much fantasy, Dragon Age was and is still like my biggest one of that type of medieval ish fantasy, so that's why I don't see it commonly. That said, I'm still glad we get options because that way we can make different Rooks really feel different, because running a new version of a character with the same exact voice just doesn't make me feel like I'm really playing a different one. Is something I really appreciate from SWTOR, even when the stories are the same in the expansions there's enough flavor there to hear some different things with different classes.
