He who? Bella defended him but Mike just shrugged Oh you mean Ryan himself? But I guess the book was published in 2005, so it's the best we could expect, at least he didn't die That ending though? What happened to Bella and the crew? Ryan himself.
I took the ending as Bella and the rest of the humans who stayed behind joining the broader multispecies community in the structure.
I would have liked to read the continuation..oh well. Btw those musk dogs, I can't even, kinda felt more fitted for the show like orville not this book lol

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to laugh or be worried for the protagonists.
A continuation would've been neat. They go to the trouble of explaining that the structure was probably designed so that thousands of cultures that would have otherwise never interacted would get the chance to, but then we only really see two types of aliens. And when the characters get a view of the outside and see just how huge it is... you could set an entire series in something like that.
One bit that confused me was Janus not liking repetition to the point where it eats people. We never got an explanation for that, but at the time it felt like it was supposed to be major foreshadowing.

Aaah I remember now, yes somebody died because of that, maybe it's just in the nature of automatic machines or something

A series of crime novels about a female profile who's being asked to do some profiling job and she has no idea how much it's connected to her dark past. She used to be a police officer and left her job after she nearly died - she was kidnapped, held, she fell for her kidnapper (she thought he was the real killer and I don't think he was...) and had a child with him. She left not only her work but also a country. She's back now, trying to find who wanted her on this job, why and how much does it connect to her past.

I've just read Assassin's Creed Odyssey novel and The Hunger Games books. Plan to read Violet Evergarden and Spice&Wolf novels. I read mostly on my phone because I'm absolutely addicted to it and can read literally everywhere, walking on the street included. I also have kindle and read on it from time to time. It's been a few years since I've read anything on paper I like reading on paper but most of the books I buy are kindle books as the digital book is usually quite a bit cheaper than the physical copy. The advantages kindle has over physical is that phones/tablets take up less space in your bag than books and kindle books usually have a dictionary so you can look up any unfamiliar words. Disadvantage they have over physical books is it's a lot harder to read a screen when you're outside in sunlight At the moment I'm reading book one of the Hollow Earth trilogy, it's a book for older kids, but I decided to give it a go because it's written by John Barrowman and his sister Carole. I'm reading it on the Borrowbox ap which allows you to borrow ebooks from your local library. There's also an audio version which is narrated by Barrowman (not sure if he's using his American or Scottish accent as I haven't listened to it). It's an OK book Before that I read the first book in the Old Man's War series by John Scalzi, quite a good book
