Have you ever been taken by surprise by a voice actor showing up in a game? It's happened to me more often than not. I facepalmed throughout the Descent DLC for DA3 because Valtra the dwarf sounded exactly like Liara. Not to mention that they were more or less the same type of character in different settings.
Anyway, we all know that the pool of VAs that are considered "A-listers" pop up quite a bit. For example, Jennifer Hale as Shepard sounds just like her voice for ToR. The example I listed above, ect. I've noticed that over time, certain VAs tend to have a distinct voice. After playing enough modern games, you tend to spot the patterns.
So I play a little game with myself. I call it, "Hi Gideon." It's named after Gideon Emery. After playing DA2, I started noticing him in many games I play. I retroactively connected him to Baldir in FFXII. He also does several voices for Diablo 3 as well, among other things.
His more recent performance was a talking car ala KITT from Night Rider in the 2017 game Agents of M.A.Y.H.E.M. This is awesome. He changes attitudes depending upon the blueprint being used. If you have a race car blueprint, he'll make remarks about wanting to speed. Things like that.
Now, this car character was never given a name in the game I was playing. When I heard the voice, I said "Oh hi Gideon" and named the car after him. The "Hi Gideon" game is something I've done ever since. I was just curious if anyone else does something like this.
