If this was already covered feel free to merge the threads.
I got to my subway station and there are always posters on the walls. Saw one for a Charmed reboot. I loved the original (though preferred Prue even if I understand why she was replaced). Still, I'm all for the reboot. I hear it's a soft reboot since it may have connections to the original.
Anyone hear anything about it? Thoughts?

The reboot was decent, not great but the show has great potential. The pilot was very fast though and the cgi... Even though I love to see haters saying too much SJW shit I would be more subtle about it, the original show was already a feminist show for a 90s show. And what can I do, I love that one of the sister is a lesbian (at least that's what all media is saying and I hope it's true because I really dont want the only queer sister to be in a otp with another man ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Also they pretty much confirmed that there is a multiverse with the first spell Marisol did
"Quod potentia in tribus ejus egredietur protegens terrae, huius regni in via lactea, et universam multitudinem quae perpetuumque multiverse"
"The power of three will go into protecting the earth of this kingdom in the Milky Way, and the vast permanent multiverse" -Google translation
So the original Charmed ones could crossover and that's pretty awesome. You need a miracle for the actresses to get along though lmao it seems Shannen and Alyssa are ok. But Rose hates Alyssa, and Shannen and Holly dont follow each other in social media anymore. Sigh. I would be content to see an alive Prue though, she is my favorite sister.

I enjoyed the first episode. Even in the trailers I noticed these ladies were exceptionally light-skinned. Then I saw their mother and understood. I know I'm getting into race politics but I think that move was intentional so they don't see "too black".
I guess I missed that first spell, or at least the context, but that supposed link between this and the original I'd heard about must be there.
Prue happened to be my favorite. Paige never quite did it for me. Ratings agree since they continuously dropped after Prue's death.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. I was afraid it'd be shit given how it was marketed as the "feminist girl power" charmed or whater. since the first show was already that. It was offensive to the original cast. Anywho...it's good so far. I'll keep tuning in for sure!
But to be clear this reboot was against the wishes of the original cast, so the chances of them making an appearance is very very very very low!

The original Charmed cast were a bunch of strong women. Not too sure this is much different other than the branding. Back then, feminism wasn't so hyped up. I think we just need to look past how TV of today spins the same sort of thing to fit modern ideas.
As far as the original cast, I know they had issues with a prior suggested reboot. But who cares? The show ended and they need to move on. Unfortunately, reboots are a fact of life, but this one seems to be good so far.
