I am very curious to see how big of a feature it will be being able to play as Riku, Aqua, and um..Roxas (I think)? They only show us playing as them in the key blade graveyard area. It'd be cooler if we could play them through the whole game...logic be damned.  |

Just read that the gay option in the new Life is Strange is a jerk and it's not as meaningful and important as the lesbian couple in the first game.  there is a time jump so those romances probs are not gonna be important and this time romance is not the plot device like it was in the first game

Not only is he less important than Chloe, his romance is also shorter and less romantic than the straight romance in LIS2. I always had the feeling the main romanceable character was Cassidy, and Finn was just a side romance option to get browny points for including a mlm option. The only thing you get with him is a bad animated kiss after you agreed to his stupid plan. With Cassidy, you have a romantic swimming scene at the lake and a sex scene afterwards.
I also hate the fact that Finn can die at the end of the episode, and Cassidy can not. You can tell he won't have a big role in the next two episodes if he's dead in some peoples playthrough... I was very disappointed. After the Chloe/Rachel romance, I expected something great from the devs. I mean he's a nice guy and everything, but I was always pissed at how he was treated compared to Cass.
It also seemed like Sean was actually supposed to be jealous of Finn, because he gets along with Daniel very well. Cassidy, on the other hand, was supposed to be close with Sean, and Daniel was jealous of her. Romancing her felt way more organic in my opinion. |

I only watched the Bethesda conference, because that was all I cared about. It was mostly boring... I didn't expect much from BGS, and I was right not to. But I love Arcane games and Deathloop looks really interesting. I am also carefully optimistic about Doom Eternal. I had a lot of fun with Doom 2016, I hope the new Doom will be just as good.
It seems everyone else is hyped for Cyberpunk 2077, but I only really played one game made by CDPR, Witcher 2. The first one was shitty, the third one was boring (yes, I actually own them all... but I've learned my lesson), and I don't expect much from this new game. It's already as hyped as Witcher 3 was, but that doesn't mean anything, so eh.

As someone on Twitter pointed out, though, the fact that Keanu Reeves, someone who is an actual Hollywood name, as in on the level where his name alone attached to a movie is often the selling point, is voicing (and the face model of) a character pretty much guarantees that this is in effect CDPR minting their own money. Like BioWare hires geek circle actors - think of the big names in BioWare games, I think the biggest "mainstream" name they've gotten would be Freddie Prinze Jr., who's best known for his acting in the NINETIES, and being Mister Sarah Michelle Gellar. The usual names in video games are either major geek cred performers or professional voice actors, people who make a living selling their voice. This is getting an actual Hollywood A-lister - he sells his face and name. What I'm saying is that whether or not the hype is ultimately deserved, there's REASON for that hype - you don't expect a video game to have the budget for casting someone of Keanu Reeves on the scale of name recognition, because actors like him have an asking price that would probably eat up most of the budget. |
