Does anyone here know how to avoid the Ashley and Jack romances while still getting the most content out of them? Thanks!

With Ashley is pretty easy if you know the dialogue options, I'll quote you this here I think the mod prevent you from getting ninjamanced but just in case I'm posting this here for the future (I had to look for it in bsn x.x) I found this miniguide, I'm in my no-romance-til-ME3 playthrough and it works for now. Jack under my own experience is impossible, is that kind of character you gotta stop talking because she always throws at you penis no matter what, maybe there is some trick that I dont know about, but I played three times ME2 and nothing.

For jack to me she opened up quite well once I manage to fix paragon wise the debate between her and Miranda. I didn't really do any flirts of sorts with her, but once I got that, she was pretty friendly and glad I finally got to know her better. Can't remember any other exact details I could have done, I just remember that one being the most significant.

the problem with Jack is that no matter what Shepard acts like ... well like he was interested in her and heterosexual (I mean is ME team not shook about it male Shep was designed like that pukes ) so when you do her loyalty mission and I dont remember well the exact conversation but yeah no matter what options Shepard seems to be into her and she into you so I avoided her entirely every time sadly, because she is a great character, but the way she is written "poor me I need a man to heal" is just utterly disgusteeeing. (more so when she mentions A GIRLFRIEND in ME2) I found this but then again, the conversation goes like you are interested in her Homosexual men won't ever picked those lines in real life (at least is how I remember them the three times I played ME2) I read Jacob works the same for female Sheps and I read Sheps is kinda creepy with him but then again I've never seen his romance not interested in straight shit, I have only seen the unused romance line from the mod and it was just flirty. edit. I always avoid her when she goes all" are you eyeing me up? wanna have sex? say it already" something like that, sorry but I'm gay and I have never given you any signs of anything gurl lol edit. in the beginning of the video, I remember that if you pick more than two dialogues, she starts saying that to you, so I always pick one or two (I like the one about the tattoos and when she mentions that couple confirming she is bisexual) and forget about her, Shepard has a rainbow flag in the ship and everyone know about it edit. this reminded me, I always stop talking with Tali in ME2 when she mentions her suit issues or whatever, and she blushes or something I dont remember ME2 IS AN AWFUL GAME

Davrin's boobs Scottphoto Thank you so much! Inreally appreciate it! My boyfirend is starting out Mass Effect for the first time and I didn't want him to have to go through the awkwardness like I did! I love both characters but just hate having them forced on Shepard!

Liara was the one that surprised me on my first ME1 run. I didn't realize that Jack/Ash were also bad for you guys. At least they seem to have learned a little on that front? I can't recall anything like that happening in recent games. Glad your bf is getting into ME Andrew Mancer! It's a great series.

Yeah, I've FREQUENTLY had Ashley think I'm interested in her. The game tends to take "I want to get to know you" as "Me, you, my cabin, the way to Ilos, Y/Y?" Like, Liara's bad about it, and the later games make it a mess of the "assuming romantic intentions, what do you MEAN you don't want to romance Liara, don't worry, you're gonna have like twenty chances to reconsider!" but... Even taking an option of "let's keep this professional," Ash still asks later on about if I'm "still interested, baggage and all," and at THAT point, there's no way to say no...
Easy lock out (though you miss out on conversation and dialogue) with her is to take the "You're out of line!" option when she asks about letting the aliens have free run of the Normandy. I remember I did that on my very first run of the game, and had no problem with her trying to ninjamance me later.
Jack's... frustrating. I swear, I've managed to close out of her romance dialogue without getting to where she just starts looping the romance dialogue start, but I could not say how I did it intentionally. Most games, I just stop talking to her at that point, since it even locks out her comment about the Collector Base.

Mass Effect 2, the game where straight male fantasy was king, gay men were invisible, and lesbians have to pay up for dlc romance with Liara or sleep with Space crabs/K.Chambers.
