I was always a fan of Dawn Of The Seeker and enjoyed Felicia Day's mini-series and definitely wanted more shows/movies from this franchise.
I mean, of course I'd rather have the next game but this will satisfy me a bit until we actually get it (hopefully next year).
I'm really hoping that we get good LGBTQ+ representation here since it's DA and not ME (which we all know would be super straight) and I already see one potentially hot guy on there I'd like to be gay, so...
DON'T DISAPPOINT ME DRAGON AGE!!!

One extra bit from another official tweet is that it confirms the story takes place on Tevinter, so this could be very well be a tie in to the new game, it does make me wonder if potentially some of these characters will not only show up on the new game, but some might have been scrapped ones from when the project changed and they were used instead here:
But yeah I'm excited to have something to tie us over for a bit, and see that they do still care for the lore and story of the game by expanding it this way!

To answers your question on writers, these are the ones I found. I can say from my experience with Tim Sheridan dc animated films, he does good stuff! In terms of representation not sure how it will turn out, as Tim didn't really have space to explore that on the DC projects he was on, but hopefully he can on this one: |

I'm very excited for this. I'm just really hoping they play it carefully with character appearances and world states so that they don't canonize one thing over another and leave those that chose other things out when it comes to enjoying this as part of their own canon Dragon Age world.
Interesting that they have Leliana and Cassandra in the trailer.
Also apparently one of the main characters is Fairbanks from the Emerald Graves?!
...Like I don't see why it had to be him since he wasn't that memorable...(Inquisition's awful side quests didn't help with that) So we'll have to see how he plays into this and if he'll be a bigger role in DA4.
I also really like that Kimberly Brooks (Ashley) voices the main character. I love her voice. Also happy with the legendary Phil Lamarr and Matt Mercer being part of the cast.
Let's hope for a lot of good LGBTQ+ representation!!!

I have to admit I am disappointed they seem to have taken the easy way out and made their female leads a couple instead of giving us good gay male representation. This makes me think we might not see a gay male character or they will be a very minor role. There is a HUGE lack of gay male representation of in animation but an overwhelming amount of lesbian female representation. It makes me sad because I see so many great opportunities in many animated shows for gay/bi/pan male characters but it never happens.
I am still excited about this but totally heartbroken gay men get the short end of the stick AGAIN.

Well, the good news is there's good representation for both F/F and M/M in the show. I really enjoyed it. I watched all 6 episodes back to back, cause of course I did. Not sure what to make of the twist at the end, it was both exciting and a bit upsetting. Still, I hope there will be a second season-or that it will play into the game somehow one or the other as the story isn't quite done. Edit: so excited I forgot to gush specifically about Roland and Lacklon. I don't want to spoil anything , but damn they are both just awesome and I love them. I want whoever wrote the majority of their story to be in charge of the gay romances in the next DA....but maybe with a bit more sappy romance. (I'm a softie!) |

I totally loooved it  after the big disappointment that it was the last egg teaser this was just what I needed, cool new and visual DA content full of gay shit lmaaao no spoiler but just in case Lacklon and Roland were so freaking cute awww finally some good mlm rep in an animated show, loved all the hints and the build up haha cant wait to see more  About Miriam and Hira, lesbians in Spain use a meme-ish saying "bollo drama" and that is what these two are  the aaaangst!! Hopefully they find eachother in better terms in the future season 2 when????!!! Qwydion was so funny and quirky, love her and she was the cause of several laughs for me haha spoilers I wish I could care about Fairbanks but I dont remember him  its been a while, this show is giving me an itch to play DAI again, I need to do it for DA:D anyway was that Meredith in the end? lmao  |

Totally blew my expectations out of the water. My only real complaint was that it felt like it could have used two more episodes.
But it all felt very Dragon Age in the best way while telling a story that never would have worked as a video game.

OMG I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SHOW SO MUCH! I had to hold back and spread out the episodes by days so I'd have something to look forward to but I totally would've gone through it all in one go if I didn't! It all felt so much like Dragon Age that it really felt like I was immersed in the world of Thedas rather than just another random fantasy anime. Tevinter was just so gorgeous it makes me excited for what's to come in the games! I can already imagine how great these cities will look in the games and how fun it could be to explore if BioWare gets it right!
And OMG FINALLY!!!! SOME GOOD MxM REPRESENTATION!!!! I just LOVED Lacklon and Roland. Every moment they shared together was just the best and the kiss at the end was just SO SATISFYING!!!
Like...why can't we see this in the games?! Not just good gay romances for ourselves but also just through NPCs we meet. Inquisition had essentially zero gay male representation and was disappointing.
I need more of these two please BioWare!!!
There is definitely more to see with these characters so hopefully we either see a season 2 or they play a decent role in the next game. It just seems like we have so many plots going on all at once right now...can BioWare really handle it?
Miriam and Hira - that is a toxic relationship right there. I hope it's over for good because she deserves better. If someone betrayed you once and placed everything else over you and tried to sell you back into slavery.... they're not worth it.
I'm surprised gay men got a healthier representation here.
And the reveal of Meredith at the end?! That was both exciting and raised SO MANY questions!!! I immediately recognized the voice without having to see the credits. Definitely did not see that coming and can't wait to see how it plays out...
Also adding my love for Qwydion here. My fiance and I watch another show called "The Ghost And Molly McGee" where she voiced the main character so we immediately loved here and she is just the best Qunari ever!!! (Sorry Bull, wasn't a fan...) |

I just finished it, it was really good, was quite shocked. I was hyped for it but I was hesitant a bit, but I think this is the first adaptation from a bioware game that really lands so well. It captures so well everything about dragon age, from the lore, diverse characters, representation but even better, the twists, the scenerys, and the very last bit at the end had me screaming in excitement when I saw the statues of kirkwall oh my lord I lost my mind, seeing skyhold for a bit was great too. I hope that we can see a season 2 full on kirkwall, it would be amazing to catch up and see how things over there are. And they can do mini cameos like they did here with the inquisition characters, they are there to help establish but not once take away from the new characters or story. Also there was a new interview post show release a bit if anyone is curious about the show's future though doesn't say too much. Hopefully netflix gives it a chance or we can see the story continue in some form: |
