I'm a huge Tomb raider Fan. Played the original games but never go to Rise of the Tomb Raider, though I think I should tbh. Maybe it's time for a Tomb Raider thread then hahaha. I may start it later, want to maybe make the first post a rundown of the games and eras.

I've been dabbling in Eve Online and playing Paradox's Stellaris. I'm holding off for a bit on MEA until more changes have been made, and I might wait until the DLC be comes out. I've got DAI in my short list for when I'm on a fantasy kick since I haven't played a couple of the DLCs for it yet. I want to start a fresh new game.

I wished I could say I'm playing something, but Andromeda pretty much ruined my mood for videogames atm. I only go back to its MP to send my APEX team go do stuff and them close the game Still going back and forth as to how I'm going to play Technomancer. I'm having the same problem with the exception of Stellaris. It's a strategy game about space exploration, building a interstellar civilization, diplomacy and warfare. It's fulfilling my sci-fi space needs in ways MEA wasn't able to do.

By the way, if you don't already know, there's an open beta with some hotfixes!

The same thing happened with Elite Dangerous. Gorgeous graphics but I need my 3rd person shooter and view my character

I'm currently considering a second run of Technomancer while I decide whether to pick up FFXII HD next month first and then go back to FFXIV, or go back to FFXIV and pick up FFXII later.

I already played it a lot before the release of MEA, then left it alone for a while. However, the release of their dlc and well, MEA being what it is, drove me straight back into Stellaris arms. I've been trying to update all my mods recently, unfortunately not everything I used to have seems to work so well with the recent update and the Unity dlc. I really liked my Mass Effect (mods) civilizations but they're not working properly anymore (at least for now). Yeah I've heard about it, it would be nice to have rival civilizations declare war on you again haha.

Suaimhneas SWTOR is like a theme park. You show up, do your thing, then you don't come back until next year on vacation. It is a bore. All I do is run heroics, get boxes, level up shitty Galactic Command, and hunt achievements I've missed over the years. I am in an erotic roleplay guild on the Ebon Hawk named Dark Rulers of the Bedroom, so... I guess I have a hobby.

They're both trash TBH. Neither have much to do with Tomb Raider other than the name, the stories are terrible, Lara's characterisation is terrible (and has got next to nothing to do with the original character, either), the gameplay is generic third-person shooter BS with collectathons and pseudo-RPG stuff... really, the only good thing about them are the graphics. And the bow mechanics. But then I'm a bit of a Tomb Raider elitist, anyway . Fair enough, I started the franchise with Legend. I do miss more of that Lara. I agree on the characterization of Lara, I feel like they are trying to take her there but is very slow. I will say this, they are quite great games overall to play, just maybe not as great as Tomb Raider games. I do love the bow mechanics for sure. Though I think Rise was definitely a big improvement with more tombs and relic stuff throughout the story. I didn't do much shooting on the sequel and went more steath routes, I did like the new stealthy mechanic in the game. The first one from the reboot gives me the creeps as I play, specially when Lara falls into a pool of blood. But yeah I do miss the globe scale of the previous games, specially since I arrive to that style of Lara quite late. It is disappointing when games change a lot when your just hoping to see the new games of that franchise play similar but with enhanced graphics. It's good to fresh things out and it also happens when new people come in to work on the games, but it tends to sacrifice the old fanbase to build a new fanbase. Been through it with Sonic the Hedgehof way too much lol. I started with Legend, too, but Legend was already very, very different from the original games by Core Design. And after playing some of Core's games, I actually ended up disliking Legend and all the other Crystal Tomb Raiders. Even Legend's Lara is far too different from the original for my liking and the gameplay is incredibly dumbed down (the platforming is so automated and focuses way too much on ledge-hopping). To me, the only proper Tomb Raider games are the first six by Core Design . If you love the old games, check this one out. Someone's remaking TRII in Unreal Engine 4 :') SourceHe's using LAU-style mechanics and game design, though (LAU = Legend, Anniversary Underworld). So anyone who liked the LAU games should probably enjoy it but for a fan of the classic games, like myself, it looks kinda dreadful from a gameplay perspective. (Also, the creator is a bit of an idiot who takes every bit of constructive criticism personally and expects people to worship the ground he walks on .)

There's no protagonist to play with as your playing an empire instead. I think it's far more comparable with the Civilizations game series or Sins of a Solar Empire. Some of the mods for Stellaris allow you to head canon it like the Mass Effect Universe though. That combined with things such as the Planet Diversity mod create a good looking galaxy packed with very different solar systems.

When I finished the ones I was interested in I just kinda stopped playing it.

Frhozen Yeah, I know. I just thought that you guys would like to know about it. It's coming around very nicely, tho. Unreal Engine's graphics are trully amazing! :') Lionrage That's sounds cool! I've some gameplay videos for Osiris New Dawn and that seems right up my alley (even though your character has that lame space suit on).
