Oh, they do patch the games-it's just they usually only adjust things involving the online play. Tournaments are where Pokemon make the most money for the company, so they focus the majority of their resources into that sadly. That being said I was thrilled with Sword, as it had a lot of events and support (longer than most of the games got). Yeah, I've seen the patches, hard to say what they fixed, but a chunk of the release notes were about events or dlc support. Can't say anything about the events, for the same reason I can't judge the performance that well, but I'm glad you enjoyed them. Either way, the game definitely needed more performance patching. Forgot to mention, I also beat the remake of Link's Awakening last year. Like Kirby, just as cute, and just as solid performance-wise. Maybe it's an issue with the open-world 3D games (modern Zeldas seem to struggle too). Kinda worried that when the new switch comes out they'll have a cpu that's not from 2015 and the optimisation will get even worse... Sadly if you think the performance in Sword/shield is bad-you might not make it through the new games. Honestly, I think I'm gonna have a better time than most switch owners. Outside of the occasional bigger slow-downs, on average I'm getting smoother framerate than usual. It's still bad for a 100 billion dollar franchise. I'm playing Brilliant Diamond for now (maybe I'll finally get through a single Sinnoh game), and it runs fine, but we'll see how Violet runs when I get to it.

I finished playing through Marvel's Midnight Suns, which is currently the closest to a bioware rpg themed to Marvel. This game got ignored for its combat card system (which is not bad at all is pretty fun!) but behind that combat is a very rich character story focused game. After every mission in the game there's spending time with each hero in the main hub of the world called the Abbey. Is essentially the normandy, skyhold, etc but this place also has a bunch of collectibles and mysteries to find in the outside gardens. Instead of having any open worlds, the game goes for a big open hub area between missions. But at its core the best part of the game is the characters and the friendship system introduce with it. Each marvel hero serves as a companion squad member that you can raise their friendship through dialogue choices, giving gifts and just overall spending time with them with the game's hangouts system where in certain nights you will have about 4-5 heroes available to hangout. The reason I say is at night is because the game has a day and night system. During the day you can do all your main objectives, when you complete a mission whether main one or side mission you will arrive at night from battle and new things can happen at night including the hangouts. Unfortunately there is no romances in the game, instead there is a friendship system. Although some dialogues you can see there's a special connection to your characters that could lead somewhere if you want to see it that way, most notably with the main midnight sun characters, Robbie Reyes (Ghost Rider), Magik, Nico and Wanda (Scarlet Witch). Wolverine's friendship also ends with you taking a dive in the pool with him which is the most you will get out of him. The others I didn't feel there was much room for headcanon, granted I didn't try the dlc characters, I stuck to the base game. Ultimately I envisioned a relationship with Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider, at the beginning of the friendship a lot of time he talks about feeling different comfortable and better around you and those kind of messages just felt touching to me and felt a romance there. Meanwhile Wolverine I felt there could be something there as well but more like we gonna have a good time but not as serious maybe XD. So, of course the big question is there forced straight or any representation? Well the good news is that your essentially adoptive mothers in the game are a lesbian/bi couple, at first it seems implied but as you keep going is quite clear they have love for each other and say it, and they both are super plot relevant as well, always active in the story at all times. In terms of the playable chars though there is one forced straight relationship between Blade and Captain Marvel. Blade has the hots for her, and eventually Carol gives him a chance one night to chat in private. So if your thinking to headcanon with those two anything probably not worth it lol. That said, I can't remember any of the other chars talking about any straight relationships so there is that! I will say though, if you do want to play a marvel game where you create your own custom character and shape his personality and is fully voiced, and create friendships with marvel superheroes, I think is worth checking out simply if your craving for any of those interests in the marvel universe, this is the closest you'll be to a marvel bioware experience for now. I didn't realize how much fun it would be to have my own custom char in the marvel universe until I played this, and I enjoyed this a lot more than most recent mcu projects. Also all heroes have swimsuits for pool hangouts or may just chill in the pool in the hub at any time, so you can also play for the eyecandy as well haha. The only bad news is that while the story does end, it also leaves some loose ends which unfortunately may never get follow up on given the team was laid off for apparently not making great sales they wanted but alas. That's it for my ted talk, BG3 will be next after I breath a bit from this one haha.

Just started playing Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. So far it's fun, and glad I got this instead of Tears of the kingdom. Neither are traditional Zelda games, but this one comes a lot closer to scratching that itch.
