I ran out of new games to play and didn’t wanna buy one so I booted up Dragon’s Dogma that someone gifted me a year ago.... and it’s the weirdest frickin game I’ve ever played and to complete my party by venturing into a stone to choose between strangers anime waifus that are all two feet tall is disturbing but I think I like the game? It looks like saggy butt but I mean whatever.

I was playing some more Valhalla tonight. Finished off the rest of the legendary animals. Also working on completing enough of the bounty things to clear out my quest list. (I have no idea if there's really a reward for doing 10 of those or not). I'm at power level 400 so there's not much reason to keep playing, but I can't think of anything I do want to play. Meh...

I just finished my first early access run of Solasta. Was quite fun if rough in areas, and the main plot does kinda rely on one your characters making a stupid decision, but I am interested in seeing where the story goes.
I'm now going to start a new run of The Waylanders to see all the new stuff added/updated and then when I'm done with that, a friend gifted me Pathfinder: Kingmaker so I want to try that, though it does look a little overwhelming.

I spent the last 2 nights finishing West of loathing (and all the various side questing I could find). It's a pretty good game, but even while being really short-it felt really repetitive at times. Also, the combat is really hard at times, but I think that's partially cause I don't know how to build a character that meets every situation that comes along. (especially combat!) Also I forget to use food, potions, and booze more often. Hoarding stuff for later on is really not a good idea in that case. The fighting is mostly avoidable thankfully if you have the right skills/stats.
Overall it was a good game, but I do wish it was a bit easier to figure-out side quests. without a wiki I have no clue how some of them could ever be solved.

I'm playing "The Medium". It's so good so far. I have no idea how far I am yet, but it's been very interesting-and at some points pretty scary to me-I'm soft though when it comes to being spooked easily! Some spoiler details: I got to feed a cat at the start. Start of the game 10/10!
Oh, spoopy girl I was like "should I follow her foot prints?!?!" I did of course, cause I didn't have anything betta to do right? lol!
Things going well, then after getting lost a while I finally found my way to Thomas room, and found a monster that wanted to wear the protaginist skin...seem reasonable enough, but I decided to run anyway! I was really scared honestly...again I'm easily scared. But it was that good kind of this is awesome scare!
Now I finally got through the pool area. Why is there never water in the pool? LOL! I found a pare of bolt cutters, but don't know how to reach them yet. I saw the autosave however, and decided it was a good place to stop to eat some food! My only real complaint is the lack of manual saves. I love a good manual save, but still I'm looking forward to playing more soon!

I made some more progress spoiler: I had no idea that the voyage to the bolt cutters would be a whole epic journey! It was quite amusing in a sense, that it was right there-and she found it several other times before she could finally get it. Good times! Save for the monster...he still scares me.
I got an achievement for him not catching me during one segment though, so that's good. I have mostly been terrible at the stealth bits.
I am now playing as um...dark Thomas (or spirit Thomas? lol I don't know). I haven't gotten too far with his area yet however. I decided I should let my Xbox Series S rest for a bit though, it crashed earlier-and it feels warm to the touch. I've noticed it runs much better if I give it a rest every few hours. My ps4 used to be that way early on too, so I suspect with more updates it might be a bit more sturdy. Update/edit: I played some more The whole Thomas section of the game was quite interesting. I really want to learn more about him and his "soul mate". I can't decide if they are bad guys, or anti-heros...but they are intense for sure! (also probably the main characters dad?!?) I kept expecting there to be a boss fight, but guessing there wouldn't be given the nature of the game. I was glad it was the latter. I didn't want to fight blob-Dick/Richard.
Next, I got to a forest area where I met and fed a good doggie. Also saw the corpse of the guy who left post cards all over the place.
Then I had another chase sequence with the monster. I got to a fort and it auto saved and I decided to call it a morning/night. Will play some more tonight!

He's sooooo good! In some earlier versions of the cutscenes real Thomas and spirit Thomas were pretty close to each other it freaked me out! Like, spirit Thomas, why you're touching real Thomas's arm like this, WHY? What did you mean by this AAAAH STOP LOOKING AT HIM LIKE THIS I CANT (that was back when spirit Thomas was able to enter the real world or something, but they changed that)
Fun fact, there was a boss fight, but it got cut, because we didn't have time to finish this. This stuff is pretty hard to develop. But yeah, some people say that non-existent boss fight is a good thing for several reasons (story too). Haha, blob-Richard lmao. Tbh I'm not a fan of his design and the whole idea behind his world. Tentacles and all that stuff. A bit too generic. Old fort is very pretty! After that area there will be a section of levels that I've designed. One after another. Geez, I did a lot on this game in fact it scares me. Did most characters too.

Especially when they were wrapped around Marianne. I was so creeped out!
Thomas is great. I hope there will be some more about him, but if not-still a very well done character! Time to play some more.

So update: I made it through the Fort. That was pretty fun. Though I did take a very long time to realize I had to pull the -insert object name here- backwards to make the ruble fall to block off the monster. I tried to move it to the side to block it...then tried hiding. I died so many times! Then I learned that Sadness is a swinger. But jokes aside, every time she shows up I get worried cause I just know there's some kind of twist coming. I made it to the red house, and solved all those puzzles. Oh I almost forgot the second Thomas adventure. I'm sad for Spirit Thomas he was a bit of an ass, but being trapped in a man that regular Thomas then kills...is a sad ending for him. Though there might be more for him somehow yet. I also got into the basement bunker. Took a while to figure out the code, but then I was like "if the wedding anniversary was in the year 1976..that must mean it was 1966!" Bingo bango, I was in. I still have yet to give in and look up a solution (which is fairly rare for me, but I want to give this my all since I know Joey put a lot of work into it! Um...But I had to take a break after solving the water pump puzzle. I still haven't quite figured out to get past the monster this time! yikes! Update: I went back to playing and finished the game. I had a blast with this game honestly, and even though I was a bit miffed with the ending being so vague. I'm glad they left more than enough wiggle room to do a sequel-and they can keep either of the sisters alive no less...it was very vague after all. I you know for sure what happened at the ending feel free to let me know Joey.

I you know for sure what happened at the ending feel free to let me know Joey. Wow, you're so fast! But yaaay! I'm so happy you like it. Reading positive opinions is honestly the best reward after years of hard work! Negative opinions doesn't affect me at all, because I know there are people like you. One girl on her stream said after beating the game "I'm just sitting there and looking at the wall and I have no idea what to do with myself now..." the best stuff I can hear! I'm not fan of the ending, honestly, I think it was the thing I liked the least in this game (both with some animation issues and poor events, like the Maw hit by electricity at Old Fort and Pumpstation... gosh, it looked so heap and poorly done). It's not like I didn't like how vague it was, I just didn't like it, because what was happening there was pretty underwhelming for an ending. But I kinda like how connected it is to the first cutscene of the game. What happened there? I just know an answer if Marianne shot herself or not and I know the idea for the second game our writer have. And it's fucking dope, because this time Thomas would be the central character... but it's just an idea and nothing more, because there are no plans for a second game currently. But god, I want to make another one so badly! Especially with Thomas as the main protag! I'm curious! What place did you like visually the most? And AH MY GAWD, CD Projekt basically saved us by moving the release of Cyberpunk 2077 to December where we were supposed to release The Medium. That saved our ass A LOT, because we had more time to finish everything. Unbelievable luck. Just unbelievable, I still can't believe this.

I'm curious! What place did you like visually the most? I really liked most of the spirit sections! I felt like you guys really pulled off something unique there. My mind is a bit muddled on which are was the best though. On the real-world areas, I have to admit being a huge fan of the start of the game. It was nice to see how pretty the real world could look on Series S. I know it doesn't have the same effects as the X, but still impressed me! But basically, anytime I was in the woods was great. I loved the area with the doggo. Oh, and both of the Thomas "stages/areas" were probably the best of the best! Though I have to admit I feel like I probably missed some stuff in the area with dog and the woods, as I was feeling like I had to follow the dog right away instead of exploring. I will do a second playthrough in time and explore more!

Also, I did Hound's level from the Thomas's portion of the game (the red one). So I'm happy! Yay!

That's awesome Joey that you designed 2 of the best parts of the game that really impressed me with both presentation and graphical appeal!

Yo, I was really terrified with the red level, because it's so different from the rest of the game and I had no idea if that direction would be fine, if the red color is the right pick and all that stuff. I'm so happy it turned out to be ok!

Oh! I forgot to mention I did have a funny issue during one part of the game. I think it was the last "run" section of the game Spirit Marianne apparently was more scared than me, cause she jumped into the real world and hid behind Marianne while she was running from the monster. Also when I got through that, the dual section of exploration was still glitching. she was back in her world...but when RW Mary moved one way, she went the other...then she just fucked off and disappeared completely. It was so funny. Once I quit back to the main menu and reloaded(no progress was lost) she was back to working as intended. Still, I have to say it's glitch/bug moments like that-that one remembers as a great moment in WTF just happened. sorry if that triggers the game dev part of you, but I will treasure it as a good memory while having a blast with the game!

I played some games and forgot to post my rambling, so here it is Metro Exodus - very very not recommended. The series always had questionable writong here and there, but this took it to a new level. Before you could ignore it, because the atmosphere and combat were pretty fun, but here all of them are much worse. "You're worrying me, your wife" "Can't you see what it's doing to my daughter, your wife!?" "- Are there any single women there? - Hah great reaction!" "You have a wife you have to work on making kids with" Every single piece of story in this game goes like this - a bit of plot happens, then some character gives you cliff notes on what just happened, even though it's very clear, and then goes into a 10 minute monologue on how that made them feel. It's very quantity over quality, and the devs knew that, because you can walk away from every single one of those monologues. The protagonist is voiced in the chapter loading screens, but never says anything in the game proper. Which is very frequently lampshaded for...some reason. Aside from characters asking why Artyom is not responding, this also results in other characters explaining Artyom's dreams and feelings. In the previous 2 games he collects postcards, which is like a pretty clear commentary on how he'd like to leave the metro and explore the outside world. Exodus doesn't trust its players to get that point, so one of the characters points at the postcards and says "you're colleting them, because you dream of living outside the metro!" There's zero subtelty. Like even characters I liked, like Giul, suffer from this. You help her kill some slavers and she immediately starts telling you her life story, and how each event made her feel. Plus, aside from 3 locations, every time you go to a new place, you meet a female character that gets paired off with one of the crew. They took the criticism of 2033 and Last Light, and promoted women from window dressing to wife. Oh, and to get the good ending you're supposed to limit the killing. Which includes slave owners. Cool morality, game! Dishonored - it's pretty ok. I still think it was a mistake to try to make players care about the empresses death 5 minutes after meeting her. It's a well made modern Thief game. Which it's clearly drawing from, to the point that it doesn't feel it needs to explain, why you're collecting treasures and paintings. The DLCs though do a better job with the setting and alternate choices. Also, this happened ? ? Dishonored 2 - love the game. This time you get to choose between Emily and Corvo. With two paths (high and low chaos), you can immediately replay it and not be bored. Both have very fun powers, the game is much better balanced for a stealth playthrough than 1 (which was either you breeze through with combat or struggle with annoying and slow stealth sections). Karnaca is also much prettier to look at. And the level design is amazing. Multiple ways of approach, lots of little rewards for exploration. The level design of the Clockwork Mansion and Stilton Manor are fantastic. The characters are much more likeable, and you have more incentive to leave them alive other than "do it for the achievment." Also, the LGBT rep is surprisingly good. Spoilers Emily, Delilah, Breanna, Theodanis, and Megan are bi, Aramis is gay, Mindy is trans. Aramis' level actually lets you get to know him very well and I loved it Also, why does Arkane keep making the first person protagonists hot? Karnaca is seriously pretty Dishonored: Death of the Outsider - more of a "it's ok" like the first one was. The levels are constantly recycled, the powers are not so fun as in 2, and it drops a lot of alternative approaches, at one point telling you to just kill everyone. Worth only for the lore bits

I just finished another run of Fire Emblem 3 houses. (Azure moon this time) Up next I'll start Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. Andrew Mancer you played that game if my memory isn't failing me, any advice? (especially if it's okay to pick easy over hard or whatever the settings are called...)
