Show & Telll Your Rook & Romances!

Hello all!

Since Dragon Age Veilguard has finally released, and seems a big chunk of you have finished, I thought it would be great to have a thread where you can tell us about your rook, post pictures if you like, tell us your faction, the backstory, any little tidbits in choices you did for them at the start, like history with faction, tattoos, gender, scars, relationships history, etc! And of course let us know which romance you chose for that Rook, what is their romance story, any headcanons involved to fill in any gaps, etc! Feel free to post all the many Rooks you are doing, done, working on, etc!

Identity: Man He/Him
Class: Rouge
Faction: Lords of Fortune

Rook's Room/Mirror Scene Details & Traits:

Impulsive - he's working to fix this and see the bigger picture first throughout the story

Face Scar - Reminds him how he started fighting for a good cause as a lord of fortune even if it got him kicked for it


Right Arm Tattoo - A tattoo that he keeps adding to it as his story unfolds, in the end adding a crows design in honor of his love

Dreams - He dreamed to travel the world someday, like the peddler he saved from bandits, this led him to accept this journey with Varric.

Other Personal Choices mixed with some Headcanons:

Combat - He trained a lot in the Hall Of Valor, mastering the use of two blades thanks to Isabella's training

Romance Experience - Hasn't dated anyone. Isabella was the first friend he talked to about his sexuality, as other women approached interest on him when seeing him fight in the hall on valor, but he had no feelings for them. He came to terms that he's only interested in men, but hasn't had good luck finding one but tries to be more open about his feelings and being more flirty to men each day once he got kicked out of the lords.

Leadership Experience- While he hasn't directly being a leader, in most adventures with Varric, Rook would often be put in charge to make plans for the next mission and improvise if necessary. Varric's approval would give him more confidence to believe in himself and that he can do better each day.

How Rook Gets Interested: When Lucanis takes him to a cafe and Illario abruptly leaves, Rook took a moment to notice how relaxed Lucanis was drinking coffee in front of him, while he has been on a rush non stop since the Solas Ritual. Rook then took a moment to take in the sights of where he was and who he was with. He's been so stressed with regrets from the ritual, that he had not taken a moment to enjoy this new journey. He wanted to travel the world, and he had just arrived to the most beautiful city he has ever been yet, while meeting a man with so much mystery and deadly elegance in front of him. Has a lord of fortune he could tell this man had high status, but what got his attention was how different he was than most men he's seen of such status. He was captivated to learn more about him.

Relationship Struggles & Growth: Lucanis is still adapting to freedom after being imprisoned and all the torturing he went through, on top of dealing with a demon inside of him now. Rook wants to be there for him, as Lucanis feels alone with most of his family gone, but it will take time for Lucanis to let him enter his life. With time however, Rook will prove to Lucanis how affectionate and caring he can be and will start to notice that perhaps there could be more between them.

Relationship Commitment: Lucanis wanted to make sure he was reading things right with Rook, so he approached him slowly, face to face, the way he used to charm certain individuals for contracts. He suddenly got carried away and almost kissed Rook. However, he doesn't feel just ready to commit to a relationship, given all his current fears and anxiety given the state of his family and Spite, he fears harming Rook in the process. He will instead show he does care for Rook in his most traditional way to show affection, preparing special food and drinks. However, when things go south and they become apart, Lucanis realizes he made a mistake and commits to finding Rook and show his true feelings for him once and for all. Once they are back together they both confirm how much they mean and need each other and don't want to go separate ways ever again.
