Guys, first of all, I'm tired of the Bury Your Gays trope. I feel like we need a site like "does the dog die", but it's "do the gays die".
That would be frakking amazing. Almost every time a character's revealed as LGBT in a book or TV show it feels like I'm holding my breath waiting for a time bomb to go off.
Re: Carnival Row - that kinda sucks, especially since I love the grimy Victorian aesthetic (I mean, that's the biggest reason why I'm running a Blades in the Dark campaign right now). Wasn't expecting much due to how prevalent the "historical accuracy" mindset is, though.

Only 3 ep left of Dark Crystal and I dont want it to end t-t and I'm expecting horrible things I hope some gelfling survive and hide or something, damn movie prologue Not spoilers, but just in case: They have a second season planned if this first season does well. (The writers had the full story planned out, but the pacing was too fast. So they made 2/3rds of what was planned, and the rest will be in season 2.) So we'll probably have to watch the tragedy happen then. o|-<
I hope for the same thing though, I really hope they retcon that not EVERYone died. Well now I understand, Netflix better give a season renewal to Dark Crystal or I riot! I really hope next season all ends and somehow retcons as you said that all the gelfling died, and with a bit of luck we should get some kind of sequel PLEASE NETFLIX dont let us down Also I'm so mad Tavra died, and she having a girlfriend was not definitely a show thing, I saw on twitter some kind of article? promo stills? of her being Onica's girlfriend but tbh I dont know why they didnt show it in the actual show, they pretty much pulled a JK Rowling I'm so so mad she died though, I need a lgbtq plot-relevant gelfling next season, Deet's dads are cute but they are not plot-relevant, and Tavra was a waste and she could have been a great important lesbian character in the plot. Somehow I'm rooting for Gurjin to be gay/bi but I'm not expecting too much tbh. Nostalgia is tempering my anger but I'm pissed about Tavra dying so soon ngl, I mean they're all gonna die if you watched the movie but I need more queer gelflings alive in the whole process ********* edit. it seems Tavra being Onica's girlfriend is slightly touched in the novels, that is a shame *********** I'm so worried about my precious Deet though, I hope she does not go all Dark Phoenix D: But it was a great experience and a worthy prequel to the movie and I think one of the best things Netflix has done, I hope we get a second season.

Not a TV and not Netflix but I've seen both It 2017 2 days ago and It: Chapter 2 tonight. Damn good movies - both of them. 2017 is better than ch2 but so is the kids part of the book so that was not a surprise for me. Pennywise tho... Curry did a great job but this guy here did something absolutely amazing.

I’m also really really sick of the bury your gays thing. It’s fucking annoying. So my celebrity crush is Russell Tovey. I’ve been a fan since his Being Human days and I would do filthy and disgusting and sexy things to him and his sticky-out ears. So imagine my delight when I learned he was playing the gay brother on Years and Years, on HBO in the US. And then imagine my frustration when he was promptly killed off a few episodes in. The only sibling to die. Yawn. And then I stopped watching because I’m sick of the gay characters dying while the straight ones live on. Fuck off with that shit. [\spoiler]

He also recently participated in a superhero crossover (Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and such) titled "Crisis on Earth X" on CW as TheRay, a gay superhero that has a boyfriend too as well

Is anyone watching American Horror Story 1984? I really wanted to have high hopes for it, but by episode 2, I'm already expecting it to be shit.
On the positive, there is lots of eye candy this season. Gus Kenworthy can't act for shit, but he's cute. And I'm surprising attracted to Matthew Morrison for the first time. I'm assuming it's because of the moustache and added weight and not because his character has a huge dick........
Also on the positive is the inclusion of Angelica Ross, from Pose. I was wondering if any of the trans actresses from Pose would get cast in Murphy's other shows (since the cis het white people do all the time), so I'm happy to see that she got included. Especially because Candy Ferocity was a huge highlight this season on Pose, so I'm hoping she brings some of that to AHS now.

The previous season stretched the get better and fall down again cycle, and I hoped they'd spin out of it, but I'm really sad this is going to be the last season. If you haven't seen it yet, don't watch this trailer and go watch the show. It is exceptionally good, don't be fooled by the douchebag fuckboi protagonist (Diane is really the heart of the show anyway). Just be ready that despite netflix advertising this as a comedy, it's gutting.

I just finished all 3 seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal. -lots of shrugs- I found it upsetting honestly. I know some people probably appreciated that it was more like the source material, but I just felt like it was an assault on my precious memories of the original cartoon (specifically the North American Dub version). I could go on and on listing things I didn't like about the changes-but honestly it's just all that-anytime things were different in a major way it triggered me. I especially felt that the end of R and the handeling of Uranus/Neptune was just so Jarring. I mean Yes I know in the USA Version they tried to call them cousins-but aside from that they still had obvious on screen chemistry and they kissed on screen if memory serves-so despite whatever the fack they were doing they were such a cool lesbian Power couple. In Crystal-they barely interact-despite being together in most scenes. Though to be Fair mostly they seemed to spend all the screen time pushing a ship of Uranus and Moon. It was just annoying honestly.

Major ending spoiler: Logan dying is unforgivable! Fuck you whoever wrote that bull shit ending. I know I can look up the name, but too mad and sleepy for now. must go have a rage coma. lol.

Is anyone watching The Mandalorian? It's on my list of things to watch. I only watched the first episode so far. Sort of want to wait till more episodes are up. But I will probably give in soon.

Apparently Orlando Jones has been fired from American Gods because the new showrunner thinks his character is -who speaks a lot about the oppression black people suffer- is problematic. Yikes, not only that, Salim and the Jinn actors have been fired too, so goodbye to the only canon lgbtq couple of the show. I guess I will not be watching new season, sad about other actors and characters I like but this is too much.

Just got through watching Captain Marvel on Disney +. It was great! I was sure it would be, and it didn't disappoint. I'm still a long ways from catching up on the movies, but D+ certainly is making it easy.

The new season of The Expanse dropped on Friday. It's very, very good. I'm so happy that they found a new home on Amazon after they got cancelled by SyFy; it's where they probably should've been from the beginning.

In other words, the show is just as straight male fantasy like the games and the books, with a spoonful of queerbaiting helps the medicine go down. I dont expect Geralt to like dudes, but I expected some new characters to make diversity go deeper, but this is a polish franchise we are talking about so..... I had a little hope since the showrunner is a woman but you gonna cater those male straight wankers.... meh
not watching
I should end reading the books since I had them all bought like 10 years ago even before knowing games exist but this franchise has become stained to me in recent years...

I'm repeating myself, but damn, I highly recommend BoJack Horseman. It's just brilliant and I'll really miss it now that it's over. The writing was great, the acting was great, and the way it depicted mental illness was pretty much unparalleled.
Also, it had quite a few heavy episodes, but "The View From Halfway Down" hit me like a train. 10/10 would sob again.
