god part 4 of Sabrina not only had terrible and disappointing take of lovecraftian mythos, horrible writing and preposterous ending, it had one of the most shameful cases of queerbaiting I have ever witnessed, the way the show treated the only sapphic ship 💀💀💀 and this show is about being woke lmao

Still...I will probably check it out eventually, but meh..

I've been watching the Stargate shows. still need to watch the movies including the one that was supposed to be watched first. Okay, the real reason I am posting though-is I saw that they are doing an Assassin's Creed Live action show on Netflix. I am curious to see how that will turn out. I was at a Stargate con and while he was on stage Christopher Heyerdahl (Todd the wraith and also Halling, one of Teyla's people) asked if there were any Todd/John Sheppard ships, when the audience said 'yes', he replied 'that's good to know' I finished Sweet Home on netflix yesterday (watched it over a week) and then watched the first ep of The Umbrella Academy, they'd upgraded the credits to refer to Eliott Page instead of his dead name, I'm also watching Toast of London

It's forever going to annoy me that the confirmed canon Shaggy/Daphne relationship from Scooby's 80s years is going to be forgotten to time because WB keeps pushing for the failure Fred/Daphne relationship ever since the franchise was revived in the 90s. My fiance and I are going through all the Scooby shows because it's one of my favorite things ever and I hate knowing that the precious relationship Shaggy and Daphne built in those years is just swept under the rug in the greatest piece of Scooby media ever made - Zombie Island - when the franchise was given the reboot treatment. They completely ignored what actually happened and even in "continuations" refused to acknowledge Shaggy/Daphne were ever a thing. It's been a while since I've seen Zombie Island - the greatest Scooby movie ever - but it's what I'm most excited about watching again as we are going through all these shows. It's his first time going through all of Scooby's shows but I've seen most of everything up to about 2016 or so.

Davrin's boobs I finally got around to watching the rest of TCAO Sabrina. I actually liked the final season a lot. Maybe it's cause I already knew the shit stuff was coming? Either way, it was much better than I expected...ah the joys of low low bottom-level expectations. Sabrina ending up in an afterlife with Nick was shockingly happy for that show. I give it a thumbs up, plus I am still glad she died after all the stupid shit she did over the course of the show.

We got a new set top boxes for our TVs and a new modem from our ISP virgin media, I've been recording a shit ton of stuff in the evening and then watching it during the daytime and evening, it's been just over two months and the sex top boxes are nearly full with recordings (unlike our last set top boxes which each had different hard drives there's one harddrive spread over three boxes, you can watch what you set to record in one room in a different room but it means the set top box will be full in no time)
Things I've watched lately *Enslaved with Samuel L Jackson *Mountains Life Above the Clouds *Wild Cuba *A Perfect Planet (David Attenborough Show) *It's a Sin (I would recommend it but it's about the AIDS epidemic in 80s UK so it's quite sad) *Junior Bakeoff (I've only watched Celebrity Bakeoff for Standup to Cancer before but JB is really really good, I might be tempted to watch regular Great British Bakeoff when it comes back) *Pooch Perfect (another competition show, this time dog grooming) *The Great Pottery Throw Down (similar format to GBBO only with pottery instead of baking) *The Terror (fictional account of what happened after two real life ships disappeared in the arctic in the 19th century, starring original Dumbledore's son, Edmure Tully and the head troll from Frozen)

Sooo...I watched Netflix's Masters of the Universe a while back, and I meant to post about it here, but ya know I'm easily distracted. Plus, I wanted to stew on it a while and make sure my dislike for it wasn't just shock. Still...after time has gone on I still didn't like it. I mean it had some really good moments, and it was almost a good show. Hell I could have gotten past the epsiode one twist, but they had to really fuck everything up with that season finale, (and partially the next to last episode as well!) So now...I just can't see anything in part 2 making up for the shit show that was part 1 sadly. Which is very disappointing as I can see a lot of good parts to the show. SMG was an amazing Teela for example...the rest of the cast was there...and that was about it. I loved Adam but he got killed twice-AKA the Kenny of this reboot. I have a feeling he will actually survive after all possibly, but either way they did the fans so fucking dirty with this series. So-yet again remakes attacking my childhood in a devastating way. I think it's worse than the Transformers movie's obsession of doing non-stop in movie commercials for the military. Child-hood wrecked. /It's not really that serious, but I have been holding back a vent for a while now!

So I watched the whole of Stranger Things 4. The season was very intense and I really liked that most of the episodes were movie-length (or longer in some cases). I would have changed a few things if I was in charge, but over all it was a good time. Spoiler time ahead for real real: I am super depressed about Max. I know the left a bit of wiggle room for her to somehow be saeved, but that scene with El in an empty mind screamed brain dead to me. I'm distraught!!!
I cried like a baby when Eddie died too. Which is odd, as I didn't think I'd get attached to him so fast. But here we are.
Um...Part 1 honestly was a bit better for me. I am still thinking about episode 4 and the graveyard scene. Honestly, I think they peaked there-probably for the whole series. As for the gay rep-it was a bit too subtle, but at least the haters that scream about certain characters being straight might actually have to shut up for a while. eh...

Um...Part 1 honestly was a bit better for me. I am still thinking about episode 4 and the graveyard scene. Honestly, I think they peaked there-probably for the whole series. I cried a freaking ocean with Max, not too much with Eddie since I convinced myself that was gonna happen when I finished vol 1, he was a great character, will be missed.
BUT omg Max saying she wasnt ready to die, I dont remember last time when I cried that hard watching a tv show, my chest was in pain with anxiety literally. I think her mind is trapped with Vecna somewhere in that astral plane thingy and they need to rescue her, hopefully by the time she heals completely. As for the gay rep-it was a bit too subtle, but at least the haters that scream about certain characters being straight might actually have to shut up for a while. eh... Seriously people thinking that Will was straight were so annoying, hints since s1 and even the original script mentioning Will having sexual identity issues lol Even though it was painful seeing Will so heartbroken I think the scene with Jonathan was beautifully done. I have read a looot of queerbaiting accusations from Byler shippers and I totally disagree, that ship was never going to happen, the real question was Will's gayness and that has been proven enough already, that was my only concern watching this show through all the seasons and I'm glad we kinda reach the peak of it, now the show needs to give Will some fcuking happiness and boo to love dammnit enough of traumatizing this kid for fuck sake. Also, Mike is the worst character of the teen gang AND the show byyyyyy far, Will deserves someone better. I LMAO'd when Will said to him he was the heart of the group, no baby, YOU ARE I'm hoping for some wlw and mlm solidarity in s5, I need Will and Robin in the same place talking about gay shit I'm glad Vickie? seems to be into her, but I dont know how I feel of her being a Robin 2.0 lmao I cant wait to meet her tho! kudos to Noah's acting, I think him and Millie and Sadie are the best actors of the kids and one of the best ones of the show, adults included PS. Nancy I LOVE YOU

I haven't seen Stranger Things since it premiered back in 2016(?). I REALLY need to catch up LOL. I liked the first season, but my problem with these shows set in the '80s is that they NEVER get the fashion right LOL...like where's all the big hair?

Davrin's boobs I agree we need some Will and Robin scenes in 5 for sure! The power of gay! Andrew Mancer you are correct some of the fashion is a bit too understated. I think they do a pretty good job with the clothes, but the hair is off. But then again I was still very young in the 80's so I never know for sure what parts of my memory are true and just filling in the blanks with what I saw on tv back then.

Doesnt Karen Wheeler have pretty big hair? I was 12 when the 80s ended and not remember much of it and I'm also from ireland so Im not sure if 80s american hair was the same as 80s irish hair

It's "big" enough to seem like it is "80s" but they don't want to alienate modern audiences so they modernize the style to appeal to modern audiences and look familiar. This is why it never looks right. I basically still live in the '80s (I watch a LOT of these old movies lol) and even have yearbooks from that era...I think I can safely say even in '84 bigger was the norm in even in small towns. Of course not everyone had it, but it's jarring to see stuff set during that time and NO ONE has the right look lol. (Still haven't seen past season 1 so I don't know if it gets better or not!)

I sometimes wonder if they even have the right hair products to do some of the 80's styles. Hair spray back then was a lot more powerful (and deadly if you aren't expecting it and got a lung full!)
On another topic, I watched The School for Good and Evil tonight. It was great, but lacking in gay as most movies are. Then again there was some wiggle room to say there might be something between the 2 leading ladies, but I doubt it sadly. Still, if you want a Harry Potter vibe without that J.K. stink...might be a good movie to try.
