Is there anything on a new metroid at all? That will be one game I'll get a switch for.

Is there anything on a new metroid at all? That will be one game I'll get a switch for. There's currently heavy rumors that Retro Studios might be back working on Metroid, recently it was revealed Retro Studios is working with the composer of the Deus Ex Franchise, the music of that game sounds quite fitting for Metroid. Hopefully something is revealed on E3 about it.

Yeah Other M was terrible, I was so excited for it because there was going to be more story but nop, that was clearly a mistake. Gameplay had potential to mix in classic with new but it didn't work out much in the end, it just made me miss Prime so much.

Fusion started that trend *grumble*

Zelda is pretty cool because you have quite the freedom on how to do things in the game. I would say this though, enjoy it as much as you can and don't rush to the ending cuz it doesn't live up to the rest of the game. Mario Kart I haven't played much personally, because I already played it a lot on Wii U, but its a good one to have on the go.

No doubt my fondest memories of Nintendo were the old school jrps, Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG in particular (playable Bowser!!!) I honestly haven't played a Zelda game since Ocarina of time. I'm a lot more excited to get Mario Kart than the new Zelda atm. That said, i came across this bit of fanart the other day. I'm kind of absolutely in love with that depiction of Ganon.

That's adorkable. If only Ganondorf could be kind of an anti-hero in a Legend of Zelda game.

I've got the Switch and I have to say it's one of my favourite consoles functionality wise. Being able to sit and play a big, graphically impressive game while watching TV or while out and then to continue to play it on the big screen with a proper controller is a game changer for me.
There are so many games that would be great on the Switch.
My major issue though is that there aren't alot of games for it at the moment. MarioKart 8 Deluxe is fantastic, the best MarioKart since Double Dash, but I'm not feeling Zelda, it's got allot of frustrating gameplay decisions that I'm having to battle my way through. Those are basically the only two big games out at the moment.
The Switch is an amazing console but Zelda is not going to keep it going forever. It needs more.

Wasn't switch supposed to be different in that aspect? I'm pc person, but this just makes me sad. Both their refusal/failure to make their consoles developer friendly, their failure to produce enough consoles to satisfy customer demand...Nintendo are the ones supposed to care, but from where I stand it just looks like they don't. I might be wrong, but that's what it looks like.

Oh, I didn't know there was a Nintendo thread!
I really like the Zelda games. I haven't played classic Zelda, but really love Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. I even went to the 25th Anniversary Concert when it came to town.
I got a gold version of Skyward Sword, but have never played it past the prologue. I really, really dislike the motion controls of the Wii; I just couldn't get into them at all. I'm still saddened by it. I'm pleased to know that the new game, Breath of the Wild, can be played with the more standard pro controller, but I doubt I will be getting a Switch anytime soon, as it's not worth the investment for me since I primarily play PC games.

Currently having the same issue. I grew up with playing the Legend of Zelda games as well. I hope the Switch will get a big and impressive line-up during the E3. If it does I suspect a lot more people will start saving up in order to get a Switch.

What I really want is for Nintendo to bring Golden Sun back.

I was playing some Pokemon Sun over the weekend and all I could think of how much better it would be if it were on the Switch. I really hope those rumours of a Switch Pokemon game are true.

I might be wrong, but that's what it looks like. They are handling things better first party wise. Zelda at launch, not so long mario kart 8 came in, now Arms comes, next splatoon, with then Mario at winter. Contrary to the Wii U where there was huge gaps of months without nothing. And since its selling quite well and getting good buzz, I can see some 3rd party support coming up. At the moment I don't see them getting a lot of major AAA titles that other consoles get though because a lot of them unfortunately rely on microtransactions, and Nintendo doesn't have the proper online service for that just yet. I liked Zelda Breath of the Wild overall, its very creative with its open world in the sense that it provides a lot of gameplay freedom on how to complete missions and objectives and the challenge aspect of it takes me back to old school gaming. My problem with it was the end of it, no spoilers, but the last portions were incredibly easy and underwhelmig for me compared to the rest of the journey in the game.

Personally, I think they need to look at the 3DS catalogue and either make ports or new versions of some of the more popular titles to bulk up its catalogue for Christmas. The ramp of new games is better than the Wii U but still not good enough IMO but people would kill for Sonic, Pokemon, Ace Phoenix, Fire Emblem etc on the Switch.

I would be really happy if they ported more WiiU titles, because I didn't get one and I wanna play Smash Bros and that Xenoblade thing with the mechs.
