A thread to discuss some of Bioware's earliest works, Knights of the Old Republic I & II and the MMO, Old Republic! Talk about your favorite characters, moments, romances, experiences playing through these games! You can also speculate and do a wishlist on whether or not we will get more games from this franchise! I'm currently playing Old Republic for the first time, going through the vanilla first story as a jedi sentinel. It's been a while since I played a star wars game with a story so it was nice to be playing one for once. I also won't lie the Theron romance got me quite interested too hehe. What's your favorite class to play as?

These days I mostly just grind out cxp and take my alts through the expansions as my sub doesn't run out until August and it feels like a waste otherwise. I do take a lot of enjoyment in my characters sassing Valkorian in the expansions however. (I'm Light Side trash on all but my 'it's complicated' Knight.)

I have a mix, I want ot say that I have 50/50 Republic/Empire, all Light Side.Even my Darth who's suppose to be pure Dark Side...I pick all the Light Side options with him but gave him the yellow eyes because I'm weak. I'm in Ebon Hawk by the way! Being an RPer, and since I basically don't RP with anyone in game I have my own "AU" in a way. I even made my own version of Jace Malcom and LT Pierce. Plus this whole thing that I'm doing, it's really my own way of getting back into writing. My two latest characters are twins, I wanted to make an old Jedi Master and an old Darth and well..I do have 19 character slots.

I mostly have Empire characters because I find the class stories more interesting, but I generally prefer Republic side. (I have less qualms about having to kill Sith than I do Jedi. (rofl) )
Whilst I have played every class, I've since deleted a lot of characters, I'm at 4/2 for Imperial/Republic. Most of my roleplaying for those characters comes in the form of head canon - or at least trying to roleplay scenes happening differently than they do in game. Auto dialogue a lot of the time is incredibly out of character as the game likes to assume my Inquisitor and my Warrior's are Dark, so a lot of things end up sounding incredibly out of character. (Auto dialogue is just terrible sometimes.)
What's everyone's favourite class to play? I have six characters I actively play right now and two are Warrior's, I enjoy the story (also dat gravely voice is A+ on the male. I have a thing for nice voices.) Though my main is a Consular.

I played for a couple of years but then I switched to a laptop and just never transferred it over.
My main was a male mirialian consular. I had him maxed level. I had an alt from every class but hadn't actually beaten it with any other ones. Playwise, I liked support specced trooper the best. Story wise, I liked Smuggler and Imperial Agent the best.
I have to say, though, that I just hated that it was an mmo. I think they did a perfectly fine job making it playable for single player, but you lose something with an mmo format. I would give my left nut for a true single player KOTOR sequel!

I'm glad that outside of Uprisings and Ops, I can do the majority of content solo (though I've yet to try some of the Flashpoints that don't have the solo options) It would be pretty nice to have a KOTOR sequel, but even that'd probably be as straight as the first KOTOR games were.

Yeah as I'm playing, I can't help but feel some things would have been more cooler and more detailed story, like for example being on your ship with your companions. I wish you could have a lot to talk with your characters like in a normal bioware game. It's a good star wars fix overall but it could be so much more too. I want to try a sith/empire character next, but I want to make it a Chiss.

I hope they give us a "pack" of the more alien species tbh, I'm fine with less customization and some cutscene clipping if I get to play some actual aliens instead of spray painted humans. It's why I play Cathar and Purebloods a lot, the are the more alien of the bunch.

I completed all of the vanilla game stories because I wanted the shiny gold Legendary flair π Most of them are human but I have a Chiss imperial agent and a Cathar trooper and a Togruta consular. I have a pretty good guild so I still play even though I'm mostly interested in the story and not the multiplayer end game stuff
Lana is my sith wife and I'm still salty over Kaliyo being het locked even though we literally meet her ex girlfriend in game π‘

The fuck up thing is that you can flirt with Kaliyo even after the core game. Not funny devs.

I really like their face shapes though I wish they had more options, especially for jewellery. I can't make anymore Pureblood's now because I've already used all my favourite faces for them. I have four of them and two humans on The Progenitor. I have played a lot of species, but Pureblood's are my favourite. (Getting glowy eyes without being darkside is also a bonus.) What species and classes do most people play here?

I decided to finally play swtor yesterday. It took most of the day to install, and then crashed my computer when I tried to actually play it.

I saw somewhere that it apparently doesn't play well with nvidia graphics cards though, so it might've been that.

I have an Nvidia graphics card and don't have issues outside of one planet being a major fps hog. But there's always a chance it could be buggy which is a shame. Did it just crash on you or did it freeze up?

I have an Nvidia graphics card and don't have issues outside of one planet being a major fps hog. But there's always a chance it could be buggy which is a shame. Did it just crash on you or did it freeze up? Okay, so, what happened was: -I hit 'play' on the launcher -the game changed the resolution of my screen to something really low -the game popped up as a tall, thin box in the upper left corner of the screen -the bioware and whatever other companies opening thing played on that tiny box, but squished -I waited a minute or two for something to happen after that, but nothing did -my computer crashed Then when I restarted my computer, the screen was blank but it was seemingly running normally otherwise. I googled it on my laptop, and was able to fix that by unplugging the external harddrive the game was installed on, because apparently it was something the game files themselves were doing, so I plugged it into my laptop to delete the files so I could plug it back into my computer. After I rebooted the computer the screen was working again, but the resolution was still really low, which I did manage to fix and everything is seemingly back to normal now. But I have no idea what happened because I couldn't find anyone with the same exact problem I had.

Only other thing I can think of than a wonky game install is the graphics card not playing nicely with it.
