Oh man seeing this again I remember that at first I though Tasha was going to woo Troi but nop, it was about colours and the dress, she should pick. Also hilarious as always how Wesley just becomes Captain.

Sorry this took me so long >.< I was gone all through memorial day weekend and just got a chance to watch! Oh man seeing this again I remember that at first I though Tasha was going to woo Troi but nop, it was about colours and the dress, she should pick. Also hilarious as always how Wesley just becomes Captain. hahaha OMG yes!! I was like, wow, if only this hadn't been made in the 80s LOL and besides, the Tasha x Data thing always struck me as odd. I can't remember of Data ever experiences sexual attraction again... then again, he was "under the influence" in this episode. Not sure if a sober Data is 'programmed' to do so. And iirc Data isn't a character who "learns" and becomes more "human" the way the Doctor in Voyager does. Hmmm. So this felt like an obvious attempt to rein in TOS fans. Since I haven't watched TOS I was unfamiliar with the episode they were referencing. It's a weird second episode. Also kinda risque with all the frozen naked bodies lol The first time Wes is referred to as "The Boy" -- it's by Worf! The captain's last words are stupid... "If we avoid temptation." Then Troi and Riker look at each other. If there's such a thing as straight-bating this show takes the cake lol Troi/Riker and Picard/Crusher. Those each have great chemistry, but I can't recall it ever going anywhere. Wesley is really an adorable kid I forgot how early on they hinted at his genius.

Troi and Riker did get married right? or I am imagining it. Data with Tasha was extra weird for sure.

I do know that towards the end of the series (in spoilers in case anyone who hasn't seen TNG decides to start watching with us) Worf x Troi happens which just... sucks... and is weird

The Star Trek Next Gen movies were quite nice. I'm glad it tied up the Riker X Troi ship. Though Picard and Crusher only happens officially in a time line that doesn't stick as far as I can remember (final episode) Even then it was only a reference to how it didn't work out. Odd given how much they built up the fact they liked each other.

Also kinda risque with all the frozen naked bodies lol The TOS episode is actually a lot less sexy than this TNG version. I think Yeoman Rand might blatantly come on to Kirk, but he's still sober at that point; he's one of the last to get hit by it. Kirk's moment is one of the best, really, because he realizes how in love he is with the Enterprise -- "Now I know why [ships] are called ' she.' "

" "But my life... my love, and my lady... is the seaaaa..." So did Kirk actually try to sleep / kiss / flirt with anyone the way Picard eventually flirted with Crusher? It would be surprising if he didn't since he has a reputation as a ladies' man!

Oh man I totally forgot how ridiculous the fight scene was with Tasha. Also the whole topic on gender roles in different societies was hilarious, it was not that progressive or illustrative of anything. If Tasha was a lesbian I bet the premise would had been more interesting, since she is not, this one is boring.

Kirk's moment is one of the best, really, because he realizes how in love he is with the Enterprise -- "Now I know why [ships] are called ' she.' " "But my life... my love, and my lady... is the seaaaa..." So did Kirk actually try to sleep / kiss / flirt with anyone the way Picard eventually flirted with Crusher? It would be surprising if he didn't since he has a reputation as a ladies' man! Not at first. In the first season if he flirted with any woman it was usually as a ruse to further the plot or something like that. He never actually was interested in a woman personally until "A City On the Edge of Forever." As season 2 kept going and season 3 he got a lot more flirtier because apparently Shatner had an ego about him that said his character should say all the good lines and kiss all the green space babes. Anyway, TNG! Encounter at Farpoint -- looking at it, I like how it kind of sets the ball rolling for basically all the character conflicts that the show will deal with, even if it's a little on the nose sometimes, like with Data. The actual plot is hella boring, though, most notable for starships making out on screen. What a progressive show. The Naked Now -- it's basically a sequel to The Naked Time, which was also the second episode of TOS' first season, but like with TOS, I think such an episode really doesn't work until you have a long enough time to get to know these characters, then their interactions become far more jarring. Code of Honor -- Yeah, the fight between Tasha and what's-her-face makes Kirk fighting the Gorn look like ballet. The commentary about men and women was probably really progressive for it's time, but now I look at it and think "the fact that it's an all black society like this is...a little unfortunate." I'm sure that wasn't their intention, but...awkward.

Is TNG on Netflix and/or Hulu? I have both and now I need to catch up and rewatch it with everyone ;D Edit: All the series are on Netflix, and the movies on Hulu. I'm well equipped to marathon with everyone lol. I started rewatching TNG

From what I understand, all the remastered episodes are on Amazon Prime too, if you have it.
