There are various groups in the DA franchise: Grey Wardens, Dalish, Templars, Loyalist Mages, Rebel Mages, Chantry, Qunari, Tevinter Altus Mages, Fog Warriors, etc
So far, which faction is your favorite and why? They have to be a somewhat "iconic" group that can convene and organize. So for example, City Elves are not a faction because any elf living in a mainstream city or town would count as a "City" Elf and there's nothing that really unifies all non-Dalish elves as a group identity like there are for the Dalish. Same with Surface Dwarves, there being nothing that makes them a faction.

We are the Dalish: keepers of the lost lore, walkers of the lonely path. We are the last of the Elvhenan, and never again shall we submit. / fast!Jaal's away before the debates start

I love the elves in general, and so I would pick the Delish elves. There is so much history and lore there and I am excited to see more of what the Dalish got right and what they got wrong of the Ancient Elves in futurge games.
Factions that I would love BW to expand on and feature in future games:
Fog Warriors Rivaini Seers

Since the Dragon Age is the 9th century, that means Solas destroyed Elvhenan 4000 years ago.

Fog Warriors and Chevaliers, yup I know those last ones are assholes but I like the pompous armors.

I want to know more about Rivaini seers. I can't say they're my favorite since we know barely anything, but the concept sounds cool.
Really any non-Circle trained mage is interesting.

I'm always up to seeing more Tal Vashoth, i know it's too general of a term to really consider them a faction. But I'm absolutely up to getting to know as many of them as possible. I love the Dalish as well. But i want them to stop being Nomads and retake the Emerald Graves already! My inquisitor totally would have helped with that...

I like the rebel mages. I just connect and sympathise with their position more than others.
But I will generally side with the side that I feel is oppressed, against the side that I feel is the oppressor. I find I'm able to make the judgement very quickly, as well. If BioWare is trying to be morally complex, it's not working, lol.

But probably I'm wrong –and single-minded–, and the oppression is acceptable.)

I'm pro-mage freedom and always go hard on the "fuck the Chantry/Templars, free mages" choices. I'm also major elf trash, Dalish or city elves, I'm always up for seeing more of both. Or more Ancient elves, definitely would like to see more of them. With Justice and Cole, as well as the opinions of Solas and Merrill that all Spirits are their own individuals with their own personality rather than JUST archetypes, I've gotten very interested in them. Not sure if that counts as a "faction". Fog Warriors, Mortalitasi, the Witches of the Wild, the Crows and all things connected to pirate culture around Estwatch/Llomerynn are all things I'd like more of, also. I'm sure I'm forgetting some. lol

I've always been very fascinated with loyal circle mages.
I'm not pro-circle or anything, but I like seeing different accounts for what motivates mages themselves to support an institution that practically imprisons them. Fear, power, religion all that stuff.

And I made sure the second "Dalish" was spelled correctly. This is proof that I am elf trash.

I love that too, like Vivienne or Wynne. I mean in a way it is kinda like the Harry Potter world but worse? maybe we even see other sides of it in DA4 Tevinter.

yes, I really liked Vivienne because she was a loyalist circle mage, but very different from Wynne in DAO.

Yes, the Stockholm-syndrome is very fascinating. And the effect of brainwashing. (That poor apprentice girl in the Calenhad Tower, who pray in the Circle-Chantry, because she feels guilty and cursed. I can't forget it.) Maybe they can live with the oppression, but serve it from free will and conviction? (I know, I'm not too open-minded.)
