(HI MODS. NOCTE SUGGESTED I POST THIS HERE, BUT IF YOU DON'T THINK IT FITS, PLEASE MOVE IT TO THE APPROPRIATE AREA)Hey guys, this is an idea I've been toying with for a while now. For the past year or two, I've been thinking about how awesome it would be to have an online journal specifically for curating essays about/works featuring LGBT people in sci-fi/fantasy/speculative fiction. I just wanted to hear your thoughts, if any, and gauge the level of interest in that sort of content, and any suggestions for what I could add (keeping in mind that, at least to start with, I would be running it on my lonesome). To start with, it'll probably just be my own writing. I might set an area aside for NSFW content, depending on what ideas come to me. The pipe dream is to eventually get to a point where other people could submit work, and I could pay them. But who knows how long that would take. I was thinking of calling the journal 'QueerBait', or 'QBait', because we use that word a lot here, and it feels fitting, since the intended audience is LGBT nerds, lol. Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Alternative title suggestions?

I'm willing to contribute, if you're okay with that.

This sounds like it has a lot of potential. I'm curious to see how it goes. I'll try to think about it a while and see if I have any useful suggestions. At the very least I wish you luck, and I'll be a supporter or contributor one in the future if possible.

I'm willing to contribute, if you're okay with that. Yes, I'd be totally okay with it. I just want my living situation to be a bit more stable before I set it up, but I'm really keen for anyone to contribute who wants to. Otherwise I'd only have a few pieces of my own. I haven't had a chance to write lately, and when I do, my focus has been on a manuscript for a YA novel.

I think I aspire to do something similar, but while also providing a space for LGBT creatives to share their work.

I voted for original fiction. I'd love to read some short stories by you all.
One question, where would this be hosted? On a website that you create, or...?

A website would be ideal, but maybe I should start out with wordpress or something, lol. But this is like a long game. I'm not planning to set it up tomorrow or anything.

So little faith in me. "Nocte said I could put this here, but I better still ask what the real mods think." I voted original content, interview and a comments section, but I also liked the essays one. Apparently nobody else wants comments. lol

Also pessimistpanda just a heads up, but you'll wanna familiarize yourself with all the legal stuff involved in printing (online, whatever) other people's stuff. (If you've not already considered that.)

(If you've not already considered that.) I'm passingly familiar, because I have been published online before, but I definitely want to familiarise myself with the rights and responsibilities of being on the other side.

Comments about the posted works, or a general commentary section where people are free to post about whatever? There's always a danger when it comes to comment areas and the internet, so perhaps people aren't voting for it because of that reason.

I just realized we could pick 3 options in the poll... That's what I get for taking a poll while doing way too many things at once.
