Hi all! As it says in the thread. This is the thread for any fanfiction about Scott Ryder & Evfra de Tershaav.

So, I'm currently working very slowly on a story called Opening Up To Someone about Scott and Evfra going on a short vacation on Aya for relaxation and having some plain fun. So far, I've published two chapters and am working on several more but it's been difficult to focus it into something completely coherent. I'll try to maintain an even pace in publishing the chapters. You can find the stories on both AO3 as well as Fanfiction.net. Are there others who are working on stories about this awesome couple?

I fangirl this fanfic. A lot of fun to see Evfra slowly finding his way back to someone and let Scott in. I'm also working tentatively on a plot. I love battle couples, so I may just have to go the post-game squadmate Evfra route. My Scott is probably going to be a Vanguard with a shotgun in hand, so now I'm wondering what combat profile I want to give Evfra. Lionrage , did you have anything in mind for him while writing? Although in your fanfic he gets to lay aside weapons, of course. Or does anyone else have an idea? I'm kind of tempted to play with the bioelectricity angara supposedly use in combat.

toomanyclouds Haha, I'm glad you like it. Personally I see those two just having a good time during their stay on Aya, maybe something will happen but so far I haven't written anything to that extent yet. Hmm, I kind of see Evfra as a Explorer with biotics replaced with an Angara's electromagnetic abilities. I'm not sure how far their abilities actually go though. The game does mention that they've created communication and musical instruments based on those abilities but nothing like 'shooting' electricity from the palm of their hands. Maybe it's useful for something like precision-guided munition or smart weaponry.

Lionrage I think it would also be perfectly fine for Evfra and Ryder to get some downtime without interruption, since it's probably quite new to them. Besides, there's other interesting things they could be doing. Wait, no, I was talking about character development. I'm really looking forward to their vacation regardless, though. Explorer sounds like a good idea, something a bit versatile. He doesn't seem like a tech head or a real sniper specialist or something to me. The idea of smart weapons is good. I think the only time we see an angara actually use an ability, it's the Moshae protecting the Salarian (?) Pathfinder with some sort of projected energy shield (edit: I just realised she does it in her own rescue mission, too). Actually, that might be kind of cool as well. If this Ryder is a frontline fighter, Evfra could defend him from the middle lines, ensuring his escape when he has to step away. Now Ryder has to take him everywhere, he's just too useful, and they have this amazing chemistry in battle...

toomanyclouds Hey! How's your Evfra fic coming along? Really looking forward to it. It's completely mutated. I was trying to write the plot outline and kept having ideas, so now I'm sitting here with three plots. The first one is still going to be Vanguard Scott with post-game Evfra as a squadmate. Then I have another post-game one where Evfra is the ambassador to the Nexus, which I remember some outdated guide used to say was possible so we all speculated about it, and I've always liked the idea. The third one is that Evfra is the very first angara Scott and crew meet, picking him up as a hostage on Eos, where the kett had brought him to stow him away for now, and he pretends to be a normal soldier (so they won't take him hostage, too) and becomes Scott's squadmate once again, eventually leading them to Aya once he's convinced Scott is a good man who means well (and then into his bed somewhat later for the same reason ). How is your fic going?

How is your fic going? Haha that's okay. That means you got some potential plot points to chose from. Personally I really like Evfra the Ambassador, it just feels more natural than having the Moshae as Ambassador honestly. My personal headcanon has Evfre being aware that the Kett are in full retreat, he knows that for the only way to kick them out and keep them out of Heleus, he going to need the Andromeda Initiative. However, the game tries so hard to portray her as if she's brilliant but I don't get that vibe from her at all. Evfra seems way more pragmatic and understands and accepts the basic motives of the Milky Way races more easily than she does imo. In other words I'm biased to that potential plotline haha. --- I've nearly finished the next chapter, I'm trying to keep in to 2000 words but so far I've got a total of additional 6000 words of pieces of writing that I somehow have to piece together into a single story. Fortunately I've got some time this week, so hopefully I'll be able to finish one, maybe two new chapters. No promises though.

Fortunately I've got some time this week, so hopefully I'll be able to finish one, maybe two new chapters. No promises though. Yeah, true! I think I'll just split them up into three different fics. Can never have enough Evfra/Scott, after all... and it'll give me some chances to try out different kinds of Scotts. His range isn't as diverse as Shepard, but there's still logical/professional Scott, emotional/casual Scott, and right now I'm playing a "charismatic leader" Scott in my game, which is basically logical+casual. I'm sure Evfra could like all of them. Same! The Moshae is a great icon and cultural leader and surely an amazing historian, but I feel when it comes down to the nitty gritty of politics, Evfra probably has an advantage if he's supposed to represent all of Heleus. He might survive Morda's inevitable headbutt, for one, and he already has contacts on Kadara and even though he doesn't like them, he's pragmatic enough not to shut them out. As Reyes puts it, he's a results guy. Ahhhh yeah. Looking forward to it! Chapters tend to run away from me sometimes, too, but I'm sure no one will be mad at you if it exceeds 2000 words.
