I read somewhere Elex is based on a book or something like the witcher was so thats probably why the mc is what the mc is. Does this book have a title? Cause tbh I'm skeptical, nobody who's attached to Elex has actually mentioned it as far as I can find. I haven't dug too deeply but its highly likely that information isn't correct. Just what I read.

I'm still receiving shit on facebook and disqus from time to time from straightbois that dont like my angriness over not having the option to be gay in the game. Maybe they will die by boob's asfixia with those boobs physics and leave me be already lol.
Seriously doubt this game is like The Witcher, the internet doesnt know anything about it, I bet that is just some apologetic dudebro opinion.

Hahaha no way this will be like the Witcher, it's gonna be very hard for an rpg to meet it's quality for a while.

I read somewhere Elex is based on a book or something like the witcher was so thats probably why the mc is what the mc is. The dev cam out and said during a Q& A that the reason why they didn't include a female protag was because it was too high a financial risk, so even if it is based on a book, that is not why the have the most generic looking guy as a protag.

Yeah cause having a female option would have stopped players...not the horrible game play and other faults. Game Devs are extremely lame sometimes.

I'm reminded of Elex where I think.. okay so you had the time and resources and money to make big sprawling levels and intricate plotlines but a female character is too much? So it's clear that there are resources, the question is how they get allocated- and often again and again it's so that they allot a shitton of resources for little things to make all more immersive but that could be cut out without having too much of an effect, but the choice are again and again to rather make a new level or design a new enemy instead of using that time and resources to offer a female option for the main character. I mean I get that money is few, but sometimes I think I rather have less maps, less voiced dialogue, fewer side quests (also done by writers, artists & voice actors- the people who would do a character design, voice lines and a bit of dialogue.) than not having an option to change gender in games where you don't have a predefined main character. because if the game sells well they still could add new maps and quests in a DLC (okay they could also add a female character as a dlc) but I think if you only have the gender swap, not modify any dialogue exempting pronoun and just modify/rescale the clothing then making a female character shouldn't cost so much time and resources- and if you find a good way to scale armor and clothing for the female model you can use that method for the next games too. I read somewhere Elex is based on a book or something like the witcher was so thats probably why the mc is what the mc is. I dont think thats correct, at least I don't really know of any science-fantasy shit here in german that would be similar enough- the witcher is a direct part of the witcher franchise, but there is no elex franchise yet and because the devs seem to give in in the usual sexism I have this urge to see that it will never become one, because I'm petty like that.

Yea well the game was a dud in my eyes so no love lost.

Well, to get away from what looks like a heavy discussion over Elex, I present: Boyfriend Dungeon. (There are girlfriends, too... and a cat.) Go through dungeons, find weapons... and DATE THEM. The only issue I'm seeing is that the trailer doesn't appear to show a female PC. But the art style of the PC makes it difficult to tell, really, and there is scant information on the game. The trailer also seems to show two different-looking PCs, so perhaps you will be able to choose character appearance and gender. They're basically chibi sprites, so it's super difficult to tell either way. Regardless, if there are female PC options, it's a bummer they didn't show that as 1/2 of the PCs featured in the trailer.

If someone knows Piranha Bytes well, they'd knew right away this studio always makes male protag for their games. Gothic 1, 2 and 3 (Gothic IV was made by different studio, I'm also not a fan of Gothic 3 even though I do have a Gold Edition of it), then Risen 1, 2 and 3 (Risen 3 had different protag from Risen 1 and 2 but I loved it anyway). I haven't played Elex yet so I can't judge the game but I've heared it has a lot great stuff from Gothic. And if it does, I'll most likely love it.

And if it does, I'll most likely love it. they are a fucking german company, no reason to be so fucking asswhack shit backwards. I mean especially because all their protagonists are the least interesting part of the whole games, so having a boring female character and a boring male character shouldn't really be that much work seeing the quality of their character writing.. but they, they were able to animate wobbly tits on the few female charas of note in elex(arent than many anyways) so yeah, brooding boring dude, only relevant female chara is a striperiffic chara with wobblytit. but strippers lol. I get while gamer fukkbois love em. Pb..they surely don't mean to be sexist, doesn't change that they are in regards to that point. one may be an accident, two is conspicuous, third is a pattern. this is like their what game, 6.? all low budget (but spiders is too and they did it once and now want to change.PB does not. which is totally fine again, they chose their priorities, being fair in representation obviously not one of em and their game are too shitty as that I'd be willing to overlook their choice of priorities. their game isnt good enough to make me want to play it for any longer stretch of time. (unlike doom, which rocks. pay it if you dont have problem with gore) I'm too old to waste my time with shitty or mediocre rpggames who don't care for me or see me only as some faint afterthought if at all, I prefer to support devs who actually care to make games that acknowledge the existence of people like me outside of mockery of wankish-fetishization... and the bullshit stuff about risky is like,, self fulfilling prophecy and also insulting, this is fucking germany, we arent THAT stuck up in the 60 here, like all the horrible sexism, slurs and shitty verbal behaviorI got I got on international servers,i never got sexist shit from geran gamers on mic ever, and I played on lans and on team chat for like at least 15 years now.. so trying to pretend having the option of a female mc is some big risk is fucking bullshit and they know it. bunchatwats ugh now I'm annoyed, nothing against you bit theses stupid pseudo reasons just to not to accept that they can't write women and dont care enough to even try buts till wnat to pretend they aint sexist for that.. is just .. ugh
