I wish gaymers stop using the word playersexual, at least for DA2 companions, so sick of it. ~minirant So remind me of what this means again, basically in your playthrough a character isn't bi but gay/straight right?

So remind me of what this means again, basically in your playthrough a character isn't bi but gay/straight right? It means that the character's sexuality changes to match your protagonist, so that they are always attracted to them, regardless of your gender choice. But to be a playersexual romance you have to have an actual change. Like a character saying they're not interested in men, when you play as a female character, but then being attracted to men, when you're playing as a male character. Nowadays BW usually confirms "they're bi," but in the games it's usually vague (cue bi male companions showing attraction only to women), which gives ammunition to people, who want to pretend all/most of the companions are straight.

So I finally got around to finishing Fire Emblem Awakening. I think my first run ruined any chance of having another run (or at least doing it any differently ever). I played as a female PC (since there's no gay marriage in that game sadly), and romanced Chrom (the main character). You get a lot of big story moments because of your relationship, that would have less impact if any other relationship was picked.
I really wish gay players could get that kind of experience in video games!

Dunno if you'd be interested (you have to jailbreak your DS to do it, which is a pain) but there actually is a patch someone made that adds a bunch of same-sex options to Awakening.

I've heard of such things, but I wouldn't have a clue how to go about it. Plus I've heard you can get your accounts banned and I have way to many digital games I can't lose. (including awakening)

In a very unsurprising twist, EA won't be supporting Xbox Series X Smart Delivery (where you don't have to buy the game twice if you already own it for current gen).
Typical EA.
edit- I was half asleep when i typed this and realized i totally picked the wrong thread LOL. oops

Came back to Stardew Valley, because I had these sick new npc character portraits that I wanted to use in the game (you know how bad original portraits are). I remember romancing one of the characters few years ago. It was nice, but nothing special, a typical love story with some minor issues and then a happy ending. This time I decided to romance a character that was added later as a romanceable option. Still haven't gotten to the romance but this stupid pixel's character story actually made me cry, it's so relatable and just... normal (it's about depression so). I seriously wasn't expecting it from such a cute game. So good, this will make the proper romance even better and more impactful (idk I like characters with issues, I even liked the fact that this character was pretty rude to me at the beginning lol, again- relatable, because sometimes I don't trust new people too and it's my defense mechanism) Anyway, this romance reminded me how much I need new games with romances ahhhhhh DA4 WHEN (with good romances anyway, Stardew Valley's relationship with that character moved me more than DA Inquisition romances or the recent Gredfall. Like wut, I don't remember anything from Gredfall's romance it was so forgettable. And with DA:I I remember being constantly pushed away by Dorian till the very end. So frustrating, that's not how you make romances.)

Yeah, I'd say with Greedfall - with Spiders in general, honestly - they haven't seemed to grasp how to integrate the characters into the story. Like even characters who might have some kind of tie to the plot... They're really more just THERE, they provide exposition, but they don't provide a personal perspective. So while the characters might represent various factions and entities, provide a perspective on who and what these groups are and do, they don't actually make the audience genuinely CARE about them as individuals.
Like... The biggest thing I remember with Vasco really is just him saying "my tempest," because all of his content could be unlocked so early on. That line of dialogue became the most memorable thing about him, because it'd be his only real contribution to matters for the majority of my game, since in a thirty hour run, he ran out of content after ten, and I kept poking him, trying to get more out of him.
Well, that and how frustrated I was at the whole business of the reused animation from Technomancer, because that animation had meaning in Technomancer, because Andrew had a prosthetic, and it was showing that Zachariah considered it a part of him, as much as flesh and blood. That was what that gesture of intimacy showed in Technomancer, and that meaning is stripped away entirely in Greedfall, but it's still given this lingering focus as if it still has meaning. It leaves me with the impression (right or wrong, it is still the message being sent) that they view gay relationships as interchangeable.
And yeah, the Dorian romance... Look I could be here all day with my issues with Dorian, but on the romance specifically... You know, I actually particularly... Well, 'enjoy' may be too strong a word, but, despite my vast amounts of criticisms about Dorian in general, I have favorable feelings that bedroom scene, where Dorian is talking about how same sex relationships are hidden backroom flings and he desperately wants more but can't quite ask that because of the fear of rejection. I like that. It's a great, vulnerable moment.
But it's buried under a mountain of a portrayal that I just cannot STAND. The flirtation stuff is just aggressively irritating to me, I would never go to any effort to interact with someone like this in my life - when you put on a mask and airs that are meant to keep people out, whose fault is it really if there are people with no interest in digging, in trying to get past those defenses?
Plus, y'know, that whole 'he's afraid of rejection, begging the Inquisitor for a more meaningful relationship' thing makes the fact that he drops 'I'm going to Tevinter, we're a long distance relationship, you can't come, here have my medieval fantasy Skype, BYEEEEEEEEEEE!' in the Inquisitor's lap in Trespasser just REALLY left a bad taste in my mouth. That, ON TOP OF the fact that several straight relationships AND Sera got marriage talk, while Dorian effectively gives the Inquisitor something that I classify grounds for a breakup... Goes back to negative portrayals of gay men only really wanting sex and not committed relationships.
*sigh* Despite having come far enough that it's not just BioWare giving us a single romance who has to be shared (meaning there ends up being the push and pull in fandom spaces to just get recognition of the same-sex relationship - you still have to be specific in searching for like "MShenko" for Shepard/Kaidan, and even that will still give you the odd het content search returns), it still sometimes feels like we haven't gotten anywhere...

I know I already talked about this in another thread, but still just wanted to mention it here.
My time at Portia is a lot of fun. It's also really affordable and on damn near everything but your toaster. (maybe it will be there soon?) It plays a good deal like the mine craft/stardew valley type games of the world-yet I found it way more accessible and user friendly. Perhaps it's the 3d visuals, but whatever the case it just worked so much better for me.
The romances are very enjoyable. I super suggest Arlo if you are into that "tied into the main story" type experience. I really felt like my romance of choice was constantly relevant with him. That being said you should wait till you have access to the desert area to make your relationship official. There's a romance quest that potentially will be failed if you don't-and you really want to do that quest!

Goes back to negative portrayals of gay men only really wanting sex and not committed relationships. Bull had the same problem in the base game. He makes it clear that he's only in it with you for the sex (he just about jumps out of his skin if you tease him about marriage) and I found that really off-putting. He supposedly is willing to actually commit to you in Trespasser, but boy, when he ultimately leaves your side to go off adventuring with the Chargers it sure as hell didn't feel like it. Let's contrast that to his relationship with Dorian if they got together instead...Bull is more than willing to give up the adventuring life entirely just to be with him, and even when Dorian turns him down due to Tevinter being far too dangerous for a Qunari, Bull still roams the borders, acting as Dorian's guardian angel. Really, Inquisition made me feel like if you choose to romance Bull or Dorian you've made the wrong decision -- that Adoribull is the OTP. And from what I understand DG is largely responsible for this...color me unsurprised.

Soooo the game is fully funded and now is getting other stretch goals, Ekram (bearded man) and Henry (ginger) have already been reached, so their content is going to be made! Hope the others character are made too, damn this game tick all the boxes for me lmao like horror, hot dudes, campy as fuck and sexy times? I'm that easy thinking of making a donation with the money that I would have given to ME team for the legendary homophobic edition Here the kickstarter thingy, I think the gamedevs are from taiwan but I'm not sure, thats not kickstarter but you know, for people of other countries can patron here the rest of the gaaaayssss, it angers me that all the poc dudes are all stretch goals, the vanilla game dudes are just whitey whitest white but oh well! hope they can made it As you can see here, they just reached Henry, next is Bruto, then Yuji, then William, then fully voiced lines with real actors, then fully CG animation and the last the DLC (It seems like alternate universe where the player is like a rpg character in a fantasy setting) dunno if you guys can see the pics, just copy-pasted from fb lol

Updated the Mass Effect 3 photo on the first post-also noticed the lack of F/F agenda in the first post. Does anyone have a F/F game to add to the first post? Might make more random passers-by feel welcome!

Aside from that I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Um, I also edited the text of the top bit-as it was worded in such a way that didn't really please me anymore (younger self making me cringe effect I guess?)

Fire Emblem Engage is coming out tomorrow, and it's the first game in the series to have all bisexual romance options. While not all the S supports (as they are called) are romantic-most are. I've watched all the male ones and some of them are very very good!
I highly recommend checking it out if you have any interest in strategy rpg games.
