If someone knows Piranha Bytes well, they'd knew right away this studio always makes male protag for their games. Gothic 1, 2 and 3 (Gothic IV was made by different studio, I'm also not a fan of Gothic 3 even though I do have a Gold Edition of it), then Risen 1, 2 and 3 (Risen 3 had different protag from Risen 1 and 2 but I loved it anyway). I haven't played Elex yet so I can't judge the game but I've heared it has a lot great stuff from Gothic. And if it does, I'll most likely love it. they are a fucking german company, no reason to be so fucking asswhack shit backwards. I mean especially because all their protagonists are the least interesting part of the whole games, so having a boring female character and a boring male character shouldn't really be that much work seeing the quality of their character writing.. but they, they were able to animate wobbly tits on the few female charas of note in elex(arent than many anyways) so yeah, brooding boring dude, only relevant female chara is a striperiffic chara with wobblytit. but strippers lol. I get while gamer fukkbois love em. Pb..they surely don't mean to be sexist, doesn't change that they are in regards to that point. one may be an accident, two is conspicuous, third is a pattern. this is like their what game, 6.? all low budget (but spiders is too and they did it once and now want to change.PB does not. which is totally fine again, they chose their priorities, being fair in representation obviously not one of em and their game are too shitty as that I'd be willing to overlook their choice of priorities. their game isnt good enough to make me want to play it for any longer stretch of time. (unlike doom, which rocks. pay it if you dont have problem with gore) I'm too old to waste my time with shitty or mediocre rpggames who don't care for me or see me only as some faint afterthought if at all, I prefer to support devs who actually care to make games that acknowledge the existence of people like me outside of mockery of wankish-fetishization... and the bullshit stuff about risky is like,, self fulfilling prophecy and also insulting, this is fucking germany, we arent THAT stuck up in the 60 here, like all the horrible sexism, slurs and shitty verbal behaviorI got I got on international servers,i never got sexist shit from geran gamers on mic ever, and I played on lans and on team chat for like at least 15 years now.. so trying to pretend having the option of a female mc is some big risk is fucking bullshit and they know it. bunchatwats ugh now I'm annoyed, nothing against you bit theses stupid pseudo reasons just to not to accept that they can't write women and dont care enough to even try buts till wnat to pretend they aint sexist for that.. is just .. ugh They can write women though, they just choose not to. The Pirate companion (Patty, or whatever her name was) in Risen was good. But she's literally the only one... What they don't care is the protag's backstory and the entire backstory itself so they have problems making this protag fit to the world they've built. So I don't mind not having a female protag in their games at all. But I'm fond of Gothic and Risen anyway because overall, flaws and all, these games were good. Especially Gothic - nearly open world game back then was something rare and the story was pretty solid. And I'm sentimental so... |

So still on Fire Emblem Fates and as much as I was determined to hook my character up with one of the offspring I find myself being drawn to a character I never thought I would. Arthur. Something about him is really growing on me and making me find him kind of adorable.
On another FE note I am very sad that I can't pair up Elise and Kaden. They would have been so disgustingly cute together! God damn cruel game.

yeah the limit of cross-path romances offered in Revelations was a bit disappointing. The royals only gain access to the other royals, and the common peeps get a limited pool of other common peeps. It's not the game changer I thought it might be. I'm still surprised that the male character loses content if he marries one of the important story females. Odd choice there. Though not a big deal for me since I generally want to play gay anyway if I'm a guy-which sadly cuts me out of 2 side quests anyway.  |

Played a round of "Coming Out on Top". It's 100% aimed at gay men. This time, I chose Brad to romance. This is him. You get to choose beard/no beard and hairy/not hairy. Hair everywhere for me! I got this ending. It's sweet - football player + tech nerd. There's another romance that ends in a wedding. Wish this one did, too, but at least they're together.  |

Adding onto something about "Coming Out on Top". I love the romance option for Brad, even though I can't marry him. What I just found out is that you really can come out ON TOP. My guy has always been the bottom but looks like Brad is verse. 
Also, Tommy is amazingly hot but you only get a BroFinder date rather than a romance.

I'll be honest, I kinda soured on Brad when I played - I was just feeling my way around the game at the time, and ended up railroaded on his path when I wasn't interested in it. So it ended up playing out with him basically coming on to me while I was legitimately just trying to be nice to him.
Of course, Ian's more my speed anyway - I'm a sucker for the friends to lovers trope.
