I accidentally ran across spoilers for sundays episode and *DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 6* I knew one of the dragons was going to get turned into a wight. I didn't think it would be Drogon but that would have been far more shocking. Winds of Winter is going to fill in a lot I'm guessing. Gotta continue reading the series, on the third book.

Ep 6 Warning: I'm apparently bitter about this episode OK how long does it take for Gendry to run back to the wall, for a raven to fly to Dragonstone and for a dragon from to fly from Dragonstone to north of the wall? I feel like a 3-4 days is generous? The Night King surrounds little Jon and his merry men for that amount of time, for... reasons? When the first wights began to step forward, i thought "OK here is where they talk or something and explain why they waited so long". Nope, just attack. Why wait so long if you're just going to unceremoniously attack anyways? Maybe it's silly to focus on the point, I just feel like the writing quality is falling downhill in order to give us a more "Hollywood" ending, contrary to GRRM saying he didn't want the show to end up like that. Arya vs. Sansa was worse than I feared. I'll back Sansa in that fight, cause she's 100% right and Arya (despite being my favorite) is just acting like a sociopathic child, which i'll admit isn't out of character. Just Kill Baelish already! At this point Jon and Dany need to just do it already, otherwise I predict about 30% of the remaining series is just going to be them gazing longingly at eachother.

Damn man... Even knowing what was gonna happen going in it broke my heart watching Viserion die I hate the Night King even more now. Dany is gonna lose it when she sees Vis again.

It just makes no sense why we see the white walkers just standing around waiting. I mean we see it change from day to night, back to day and back to night, so we know it's not like they're handwaving away the fact that time's passing, but there's never an explanation as to WHY the white walkers don't just attack at once. /shrug

They thought the ice was still thin. When the rock hit the ground and didn't break through they all swarmed. Thats the impression I got from it anyway.

Weren't they just waiting for the lake to freeze solid? Once the Hound's big rock indicated that the ice was stronger, the wights began moving towards Jon and Co. once again. I don't feel this point needed any explanation. It was pretty obvious. i suppose? it's not like the cold water kills em though. If Jon can fall in and pull himself out, not sure why the undead couldn't. But yea, that's probably the reason. Ty for the explanation.

See? And this is what happens when you bring an unbalanced party on a D&D campaign...... Okay, my thoughts: The "Dudebro" banter was cringey. Although I didn't mind Tormund both insinuating that he'd fuck Gendry in a pinch and also not being at all offended when the Hound made his douchey gay joke about him. I love that ginger. Speaking of loving that ginger -- I was super bummed when the walkers started pulling him under the ice. I thought for sure that he was a goner. I'm typically a fan of the "anyone can die at any time" thing, but I have to admit that I've never been happier to see a character pull through such a ridiculous almost death scene. And on THAT note, I'm so fucking sick of Jon Snow's stupid ass getting saved by Deus ex Machina's. How many near death encounters does this guy get? I get that he's, literally, the Song of Ice and Fire. But still. And on THAT note , I'm bracing for the cringe worthy "Dany and Jon fall in true wub and rule together in the end" nonsense that we seem to be heading into (or, possibly, "Dany and Jon decide that they can't be together since he's her nephew, but she sits on the Iron Throne and grants the North its freedom with him as King of the North). I'm still holding out hope that there's going to be a big plot twist somewhere along the way. But it's gotten SUPER tropey (i.e. The bastard isn't ACTUALLY a bastard but is the long lost prince and one true heir to the kingdom..... <eyeroll>) so I'm not holding out hope. My ideal situation? Jon sacrifices himself in the end and Dany ends up on the throne, but is showing signs of becoming the Mad Queen herself. THAT would be a much more satisfying ending to this whole thing than a Happily Ever After. I was definitely not happy to see Viserion die. Not only do I not like "good guys" becoming wights (which -- its surprising we haven't seen that before except for that Wildling woman in Hardhome), but I also hate violence to animals. The horse deaths have been pretty brutal lately too. But I understand that Dany needed motivation to turn her eyes northward and this both provided that motivation AND weakened her chances against Cersei. And, finally, I'm beginning to hate Arya. Which sucks. Because she's awesome. But I am FIRMLY Team Sansa in that Winterfell plotline. Arya is being a creepy psychopath. I'm not sure exactly where they are going with their story, but I'm seriously hoping that Sansa ends up as the Lady of Winterfell and Warden of the North. That girl went through hell and has come out so much more interesting than I ever gave her credit for. I used to hate Sansa scenes, but I've come 180 on her. So how do we think the season is going to end? Cersei not giving two FUCKS about a white walker army, which finally makes Jamie turn on her. Something in Winterfell to either wrap up this sisterly rivalry or setting up a cliffhanger there. And the walkers finally crossing into Westeros/the Wall is brought down by Wight Viserion. That's my guess.

It's pretty much fanfiction at this point, they don't have the source material to go from anymore. You know it's not GRRMs writing, even tho they consulted with him on how the whole series is gonna end or whatever. Meh, books are still better and that's canon, just gotta continue to wait for GRRM to bloody release Winds of Winter. Personally felt the show was at it's best in the first 3 seasons. As for the teleportation going on in this season, lol, remember Euron with his medieval GPS, ROFL. Also, another cartoony villain in the show who had a more interesting story in the books but eh, whatever.
