For anyone who watched the new gameplay, how are we feeling about Rachel so far? Girl's got a temper, I'll give her that. I was always curious what was she really like. In games we have different opinions of her from different people. But we also could gather some small bits of truth and tbh, I didn't like her. She was lying to Chloe about Frank, then Jeffershit.
And apparently from that gameplay we can go with two routes: friendship or something more. I can't believe this, but I think it'll be the first time when I go just friendship route yet the game gives me F/F. I don't see it. Maybe I'm spoiled by Pricefield, but again, I wouldn't let Chloe be with her with good conscience knowing that Rachel later was banging Frank behind Chloe's back and then Jefferson. That's fucked up. So at this moment, I still don't like Rachel.
Anyway. I got a feeling that the kissing couple girls saw was connected to Rachel. Maybe the woman was her mother having a secret affair? Or it was her father who was having one? But at first I thought it was her mother kissing a Prescott. Oh, also: I preordered Before The Storm on psn. Deluxe Edition since it has an adittional episode with Max and there's this dynamic theme I soooo need.

A lot of publishers worked out deals with SAG to allow work to continue so this didn't need to happen. Unfortunately the VA who replaced her will probably never get the protections afforded by joining a union because unions don't normally let known scabs join them. It's a really sad situation.

The whole situation sucks to be honest...for everyone. VAs can't work on projects they might want to work on because strike, we get VA changes because strike, strike is happening because union and corporations can't reach an agreement and the whole situation began because of greed, doesn't matter whose. I hope it will at least solve...something /sigh world sucks

I'd always assumed that there was "something more" there, though, or at the very least it was something unrequited on Chloe's part. But then I like to see teh ghey in everything. I'm still really not sure how I feel about this - it's weird knowing what ultimately happens, I guess. But it sounds like it might focus more on the actual characters and relationships, rather than having the overall dramatic theme the first one did - so that could be good.

Sure, it may sounds like Chloe had a crush on her, but tbh, it sounded more to me that she admired Rachel, because she helped her go through some tough shit. You can admire someone and not invole romantic feelings into this. And I'll stay this way with her. This plus reasons I mentioned in my previous post.

I just hope we're not disappointed. Fingers crossed!

Ehhh, to me, it's canon that she definitely felt a little beyond friendship for Rachel. Just the whole fixation on her as her "savior"/"angel" and the way her breath would catch when talking about her. Oh and, of course, the jealous anger over Frank. I'm willing to accept that their actual relationship probably didn't go beyond friendship, but I definitely think it was clear that Chloe's feelings were beyond the platonic... Even her VA seemed to think so, from what I heard.

And from what I've seen from one of the writers, they said it was supposed to be left to our own interpretation, so I guess this is what we're doing now. I didn't see anything beyond friendship/simple crush. I like when games have F/F or M/M romances, but I don't want to force one onto the character I play when I don't even feel it. But we'll be given a choice, so everyone wins I guess.

Not that you should go the "Chloe is totally gay for Rachel route" in the prequel, but there's not really that much room for interpretation, considering everything in-game.

Not that you should go the "Chloe is totally gay for Rachel route" in the prequel, but there's not really that much room for interpretation, considering everything in-game. Well, I just really don't see it. Maybe my gaydar is broken with Chloe/Rachel, but I just really see a simple admiration and gratefulness without romantic relationship. Sometimes when you are broken and you're lucky, you meet someone who can help you go through this, defeat this. Moments like this can bring people closer together. But not necessarily beyond platonic. This is how I see it with Chloe and Rachel. Maybe because I can relate a little bit to this. As for Chloe being jelly over Frank, she might have been scared of being replaced. The sad truth is - sometimes when people find gf/bf they forget about their closest friends. And this is how Chloe might have felt. That she won't exist to Rachel anymore now that she's with someone. That she'll lose a person that helped her a great deal before. Of course, this is only how I see it.

Eh, when I see canon gay, I run with it. I'd be of similar thoughts to yourself, but I can see where Ashii6 is coming from. I wonder will the two routes be very different, or will it be subtle like the original (Max's diary entries, etc).

Since we're going to be interpreting romantic subtext as friendship now, I'm assuming you also interpret Warren's crush as friendly platonic stuff too?

Since we're going to be interpreting romantic subtext as friendship now, I'm assuming you also interpret Warren's crush as friendly platonic stuff too? It's obviously different with Warren. He's not really subtle, is he? Plus, Max's entries in her diary also speak for themselves and people constantly tease her that he's got a crush on her.

And Mr. Jefferson pointed out Chloe's thing for Rachel ("Don't worry I'm sure they're fucking in heaven")

Since we're going to be interpreting romantic subtext as friendship now, I'm assuming you also interpret Warren's crush as friendly platonic stuff too? Well I said I could see where she was coming from, but said I'm in your camp did I not? It reads pretty strongly as romantic/unrequited crush subtext to me. But it's just that - subtext - so someone who reads it differently isn't necessarily wrong IMO. Ashii had a point about powerful friendships and people that can have a big impact on people. I think the fact we never actually see Chloe interact with Rachel would make it a bit different, too. For Warren, I'd say it's more obvious because of that - we actually see it playing out.
