Played it, I enjoyed the episode. I enjoyed having Chloe play the DnD game with Steph and Mikey.
The episode was pretty heart-wrenching too, and I think Chloe's Voice Actress gave a pretty good performance.

I have to say after playing episode one of BtS, this is maybe I even better game than the original. I never really connect with Chloe that much but now... damn the writing was spot on and some parts were really fun to play. Also Rachel is a major flirt, I really hope the game explores their romance because LiS was kinda weak on the regard. Of course this can go with the route of manipulative, fun and popular girl crush. Idk if they do the whole bi curious thing with Rachel this is going to be hilarious sad and relatable lel also loving the supernatural side, glad they did not drop it.

Finally played the first episode of BtS and I am pleasently surprised! Chloe's emotional issues really hit home for me and I almost cried at one point. Music was incredible again, and like the last game the atmosphare is very captivating again. Not sure what to think about Rachel though. On one hand she is cute and it's so obvious Chloe has a huge crush. I was happy to see the choice to express that feeling to Rachel. My lil gay heart was crying. On the other hand I am lowkey annoyed at her. One second I love her, the other second she is being stupid and annoying as hell. Still, making stupid decisions is very realsitic for a 16 year old. The forest catching on fire was veeery obvious too. It didn't surprise me at all, since it wasn't even just foreshadowed, it has been plastered everywhere through the whole episodee as well. I would have liked a more subtle approach, I don't know. Overall though it was very fun to play. I missed Chloe a bunch since LiS. I am very curious about how it will continue, and how it's going to rip out my heart again.

Where is this from?? It looks like it's in-game? I'm confused It's a preview for The Ride of Callamastia! The devs had a livestream yesterday, where Chloe plays the tabletop game, and posted that picture up for fun earlier today.

What do you all make of the ending for ep1? Do you think there was something supernatural going on with Rachel herself, or maybe supernatural going on with Arcadia Bay, or was that all just for dramatic effect? There's definitely something going on with the raven that keeps showing up everywhere.

There's definitely something going on with the raven that keeps showing up everywhere. I have a theory that the tornado at the end of Life is Strange may actually be Rachel's vengeance to Arcadia Bay. When she screamed you could see that wind effect. It could be a reference to that "butterfly effect" that causes tornados also! I mean, we all know how it's going to end for her in the end.

Episode 2 was alright. spoilers below. The one dream sequence in this one was interesting.
The play was cute, but I messed up some of the lines.
no tabletop game in this one, makes me sad.
I am somehow both surprised and unsurprised that Rachel actually kissed Chloe to show that she's serious about running away.
...mystery woman is Rachel's biological mom.

...mystery woman is Rachel's biological mom. I really liked the second episode. I liked the first one as well, but Brave New World was beautiful and emotional. I'm enjoying Before the Storm, even though it's a little heartbreaking after playing Life is Strange. I love Rachel Amber. I mean, she's definitely got her issues. A big one being that she can be manipulative of Chloe, whether she realizes it or not. As for theories about the weirdness at the end of the first episode, I think that Rachel's emotions are influencing the fire. Specifically, I think that her anger towards her father is what's causing the forest fire to burn with such voracity. I think that her anger during dinner at the end of the second episode caused the candles to burn brighter/higher. I think that the connection between Rachel and her emotions and the elements is connected to the tornado in Life is Strange.

8 minutes of Smoke Weed, Eat Pussy, which is Chloe's personal anthem.

I think I'll need to do a 2nd playthrough of Before the Storm to gather my thoughts on how things went. Rachel's dad was protective of her, and her biological-mom was actually turning her life around contrary to what Rachel's dad would have us believe.
More DnD! Sadly it was shorter than the first one.
I guess Frank straight up killed Damon
Sera gave up on seeing her daughter, but was that her spirit that spoke to Chloe?
I have to wonder what happened to some of the characters in here that don't show up in Life is Strange. Looking forward to the bonus episode.

I have to wonder what happened to some of the characters in here that don't show up in Life is Strange. Looking forward to the bonus episode. For the characters that aren't in LiS: Drew was a senior at the time, so he obviously graduated.
Mikey is apparently younger than Chloe and Rachel (as he was born in '96), so he could conceivably be still at Blackwell by LiS ep 1. However, considering his family's financial difficulties and his brother's brushes with the law, I kind of doubt he stuck around. It's possible he left with Drew after Drew graduated and went off to college.
Nothing suggests Steph's grade. It's possible that she might have met Mikey through Drew, meaning she could be a senior and have already graduated. Or maybe she was in Mikey's year. Considering how much Chloe looks up to her, I lean more towards her being a year or two older than Chloe, but that's just my assumption.
Nothing really indicates Samantha's age, but it's possible she might have been removed from Blackwell after the possible incident with Nathan that lands her in the hospital.
We know that Elliot left Blackwell no matter what (his part of the montage is always accompanied by moving boxes in the background somewhere).

I think I'm somewhere in episode 3 of the original life is strange. I'll have to get back in it at some point.

So, played and finished whole BtS around the New Year. Playing as Chloe was a blast. So, Steph was awesome and the DnD parts were some of the most fun parts of the experience. Chloe and Rachel were definitely written to be more than friends, you get those vibes even if you do friendship PT.
I couldn't lie to Rachel, her and Chloe's relationship definitely felt like it was built on honesty and it would feel wrong to break that trust, at least to me. It's so cool that the whole Chloe's journal is essentially a letter to Max, and wowsers, Max's message ignore was shitty, no wonder Chloe got pissy when she tries to pick up Kate's call when meeting after 5 years.
What else...the play was more fun than I expected, Frank was quite likeable...eh, that's about it. Oh, I love that behind the scenes vid for the Farewell episode
