Same Sex Romance Mod

The cutting... I honestly think a part of it comes from the writers putting some element of themselves in the character in question, then their internalized homophobia kicks in - "if this character who is like me is gay, that means I'm gay, no I can't be gay, I am straight, so the character has to be straight!"

Like, I base this off the fact that it's only been recently that Kaidan's ME1 writer has said that he totally considered Kaidan bi circa ME1, despite the official word having been for years something like 'oh, well, we just didn't think about it until it was too late to add new/altered dialogue.' Y'know, as if that were even necessary, considering the various ME1 bi mods...

i might also have found an issue, but i need to check first if it is related to the mod, im not sure.

edit: so, i was mistaken about that issue, but i ran into a whole another issue which is the game crashing when trying to take liara to normandy in lotsb. with the mod temporarily removed that doesnt happen.

thank you so much for all your work. I'm thinking about changing my canon with a custom Shepard (mine was vanilla Sheploo with vanilla Kaidan romance in ME3) and getting all the content that we deserved from the beginning

I want to thank everyone for all the nice messages and comments this entire time. I've been feeling a little discouraged for the past few months, so your support really does mean a lot.

I recently released a new update for the ME1 mod that allows Kaidan's post-sex scene to occur for MaleShep. Originally, I had the mod skip over this scene because I didn't know how to get it to work for MaleShep, but after looking over the file again, I found a way to edit it to remove Kaidan's opening line (where he refers to Shepard as a woman) and Shepard's dialogue options (which MaleShep has no audio for). It's a short scene, but I figured it would be a nice addition to the mod.

The ME3 mod is also very close to release. I've worked out compatibility with other mods, and I also went back and made a few updates and improvements that I haven't posted about yet.

Ashley's first hospital conversation now uses a mix of romantic and platonic dialogue for an imported FemShep romance (previously, the mod used only platonic dialogue). The platonic dialogue actually works pretty well for a romance (at least imo), and some unused dialogue has also been restored and utilized.


I also made some additional edits to the Citadel casino entrance scene, so now MaleShep and Kaidan will walk arm-in-arm down the red carpet.


There are still some scenes I might want to revisit and edit a bit more, but I feel like I've taken long enough with the mod already, so I'm just gonna try to release it as soon as I can.

Fucking FINALLY about the arm in arm thing. Legit, that has bugged and/or pissed me the hell off since Citadel released. ONLY romance pairing who doesn’t do that. Has always made me feel that, even in the DLC, the male Shepard/Kaidan relationship was nothing but an afterthought for them...

I kind of assume that's the case.  They know there's a sizeable audience for it but...they honestly don't care enough.  Otherwise, it would have taken them minimal effort to put out an "update" for ME1 that allowed for s/s romances and another one for ME2 that, an minimum, just fixed the email from A/K as appropriate.  That would probably take them almost no effort, certainly a lot less than it took to bring back the voice actors for MEA to allow Jaal to be bi.

I..I don't think I've ever seen that casino scene. How do you get it? Or did I just get amnesia?

This is legit scaring me...I don't think I ever did this.
