I saw theres a trans woman who's an adept rogue and she has a half-orc paladin as a wife. Anevia seems to be either a prominent NPC or a companion since she was shown in the kickstarter trailer. edit - watched a stream yesterday, someone asked a dev if Queen Galfrey would be available as an f/f romance and they said they "have no idea" But ill be optimistic and think its just cuz that dev isnt handling writing of characters or something. But you know, her being for straight guys is already set in stone I guess.

In Kingmaker discord some time ago one writer said that he writing a male and female bisexual companions (the same one who wrote Octavia and Regogar). So there will be at least one option. He also said that there will be trans npc (and apparently there was one in Kingmaker but of course they cut them).
Overall I don't hold much hope after Kingmaker and after one of streams with Q&A where one of devs said that someone like Varn (basically a knight in shining armor and straight female romance option in DLC) "just could not be gay".
Edit: People also think that Sosiel can be a companion because there is someone similar to him in some screenshots.

(basically a knight in shining armor and straight female romance option in DLC) "just could not be gay". I'm not surprised but... This is something that every single videogame developer keeps doing today (cough bioware cough) so I expected the same, especially coming from russian devs (I hope this doesnt sound xenophobic but the political climate is what it is there), I dont even trust devs of my country and spain is supposed to be rank 4 (along with 11 countries in the same rank lmao) one of the most lgbt friendly countries. Let's see how this turns out first but yeah not optimistic

Ah yeah, kinda forgot about Varn romance. probably b/c its not actually with your kingmaker protag, but a seperate character you have to make before you start the dlc lol...also it doesnt have any bearing on the core game so its like wut.
Romances aside, im honestly just wanting to be a crazy lich woman and raise armies of undead

Witch class update:
But if you happen to anger a witch—steel yourself for the consequences. Witches have the ability to use powerful hexes: special supernatural curses they can cast with a single fearsome look. Witches can make you fall into a deep sleep, turn you into a harmless animal, or even condemn you to death. But witches can also heal, protect, and even resurrect their friends just as easily. Witches can use hexes any number of times per day, but most can only be cast once on any given target (which is usually all that’s needed).
As with any class, not all witches are the same. You can be a hagbound witch, the victim of a special curse that slowly transforms them into a hag, and makes them physically powerful. Hagbound witches are capable of cursing their enemies and tearing them apart with their claws. Or perhaps you will be a hex channeler witch, who has a way of converting their patron’s powers into waves of healing energy. Not all witches use a familiar as a conduit for their patron’s powers—some, called ley line guardians, can spontaneously draw magical energies from the ley lines that cross all the planes of existence.
As a powerful arcane battlefield controller and healer, who uses both hexes and spells to keep their allies fighting and enemies unable to resist, a witch can single-handedly change the course of a fight.

Seelah our iconic Paladin companion. Since shes iconic she wont be romanceable. I only pasted some of her bio, more at link /posts/2764136?ref=ksr_email_backer_project_update_registered_usersDear Pathfinders, In a world where friends become enemies and the hardships of the crusade turn good people into monsters, it is always reassuring to see the familiar face and shining armor of a true paladin. Meet Seelah, the Paizo iconic character, who has been a friend and ally to many Pathfinders in their tabletop sessions. Seelah isn’t your usual uptight paladin: life has taught her to embrace things as they are, so she laughs when she’s happy, swears when she’s angry, and can be found in a tavern when she’s thirsty. Vigorous, loud, and pure-hearted, she is the person you need when the world is burning and the soil is becoming corrupt beneath your feet.

Also Ember an elven witch companion. Shes young by Elven standards so is basically a child/pre-teen crusader. (yes theres still some creeps asking if shes romanceable) Sometimes hope is the only thing that keeps crusaders going on the battlefield. But what if there is no hope at all? You may ask Ember, who sees life and death as it is, in all its fickleness and terrifying beauty. Well, you may ask, but the answer would be as mysterious as the young witch herself. Some say that Ember is just a mad beggar, some see her as a saint, some call her “Lucky Seven” because of her missing fingers, but Ember sees herself as a simple girl, no different from any other. And yet... this fragile, barefooted elven witch, wearing rags that scarcely cover her hideously burned skin, is one of the toughest crusaders Mendev has ever seen. Ember was born in Kyonin the same year the Worldwound was opened. For many years, her father spoke passionately about joining the crusade, believing it a noble deed and a duty to be shared by all. One fateful day, he took Ember and traveled straight to Kenabres, but instead of being welcomed with open arms into the crusade’s ranks, the strange elves were taken for demons' servants. The inquisitors were alerted and tried to burn father and daughter at the stake. A paladin rescued Ember from the flames, but her skin and her mind have never been the same since. She has forever remained a child, innocent but wise. All these years she has lived the life of a beggar on the streets of Kenabres with her crow familiar, Soot.
Ember can’t even remember her real name, but meeting you would restore her sense of purpose: finally, after all this time, she can join the crusade.
Ember is the epitome of kindness and compassion. She sees the world as a good place where even though people sometimes do bad things, they can be redeemed and healed. She firmly believes that even demon lords can change their ways. Ember is kind to everyone she meets, though often brutally honest. She accepts snide remarks and words of pity with equal cheer, and sees a silver lining even in clouds that rain blood. However, Ember is not delusional. For her, the crusades are hopeless, so people should learn how to stand strong without hope. But in battle, Ember offers healing and blessings, surely bringing hope to her companions even in the darkest moments.

Shaman class update, and Camellia a new companion The world of Golarion is full of different supernatural beings, be it ghosts, gods, or magical beasts. Among those beings are spirits—embodiments of various aspects of the world: trees, waves, wind, life itself, death, and many, many others. While spirits are imperceptible to most people, there are some who can hear them, speak to them, and use their power. People who can do this are called shamans, masters of the spirit world. A person becomes a full-fledged shaman after bonding with one of the spirits and forging a special permanent connection with it. This bond takes the form of a spirit animal, the living embodiment of the chosen spirit. Through it, the shaman not only becomes a divine spellcaster, with the ability to use the forces of nature similar to that of a druid, but also gains the power to channel their bonded spirit’s power into supernatural phenomena. A shaman who has bonded with a bone spirit can kill enemies with a bone-shattering touch, or even temporarily become incorporeal, shedding their physical form. A wind shaman gains control over lightning, making it strike enemies, and can even become a huge wind elemental, unleashing their power as a tornado. Or, if you like a more personal approach, you can be a battle shaman, bolstering your allies with your rallying cries, making your weapon a bane to enemies, and even turning yourself into an avatar of war with supernatural battle prowess. That’s not the only thing shamans get through their spirits: they also gain access to hexes similar to those of a witch, such as cursing an enemy with only a glance, making an ally lucky beyond measure, or growing powerful claws. While some of the hexes are available to any shaman, some of them are unique to the shaman’s bonded spirit. Bonding with one spirit is impressive, of course, but that’s not what makes shamans masters of the spirit world—they also have the ability to commune with any wandering spirit they encounter and harness their powers. Shamans can find a suitable spirit anywhere, any time, and by using this ability wisely they can magically gain the means to overcome any hurdle on the spot. More than that, shamans can ask spirits around them to grant them temporary hexes, known as wandering hexes. Camellia You will meet Camellia in the raging flames of Kenabres. She is a noble, able to maintain her stiff upper lip amidst the chaos that has engulfed the city in the wake of the demon invasion. A talented shaman, she seems eager to lend you her aid and fight under your command, but she won’t tell you much about herself, deflecting your questions with a polite yet fleeting smile. Even her alignment stays hidden, thanks to a special amulet the girl refuses to take off. If you’re willing to put in some effort, Camellia could open up to you, becoming your friend or even a lover. Until then, a girl must keep her secrets.

Ask about good aligned gays and gay romances not in preexisting relationships!
Also curious about if the Kingmaker console release is still in the works - last I heard it was due by the end of 2019.
