Found a TL;DR on reddit. spoiler for size
DEMO WILL BE FEBRUARY 1ST
DEMO =/= BETAS
BETAS WILL BE BEFORE THE DEMO
- Choice consequences will be mainly in the single player portion of the story, there will be some in the multiplayer, but mainly and mostly in the single player portion of the story.
- Real time story telling
- The story of Athem has been going on for at least 500 years. Fort Tarsis was named after General Tarsis 500 years ago
- Same multiplayer world. All events/weather will be the same across everybody in the open world. If it is raining/night/shaper storm/ect ect, it will be the same for everybody and happen at the same time
- Lore will be found throughout the world
- See a mountain, you can go to the top of it, see a lake, you can go to the bottom of it.
- You do not have to come back to Fort Tarsis between missions. There will be forward bases and the strider that will be used as a somewhat mobile base. You can restock, pickup missions, ect in these forward bases/strider
- Main story will not need 4 players
- Some elder content will be seasonal content with higher power gear as rewards
- No pay for power at all
- Strongholds and such will have some specific loot tied to them
- Aggro control stats will be on gear
- No lootboxes at all. There will be some cosmetic mtx, however, everything will be able to be earned via sweat currency
- No Paywalls
- Static story in multiplayer, custom story for singleplayer
- Matchmaking in all content
- Able to join missions in progress.
- World size and structure compared to swiss cheese. Holes and tunnels every where. Stated it would be better to talk about the world size in volume instead of square footage
- Each faction specific missions will have their own tone
- 4 main enemy factions: Scars, Dominion, Outlaws, and the Animal factions
- Can play the game almost completely non-linear

I was thinking about how I've been anti-Anthem because it's all online. Then I considered SWTOR, which is also all online but I can play it. I'm considering Anthem if it works like SWTOR but not sure about pre-ordering. I'd need to hear a lot of reviews before going in.

I'm considering Anthem if it works like SWTOR but not sure about pre-ordering. I'd need to hear a lot of reviews before going in. Once it comes out if (reliable) people say the main story/single player aspect is significant and of quality, then I might consider it. For now I'm assuming it wasn't made for me. |

That was my mentality with Anthem at first, like maybe its on the lines of SWTOR, but since they said limited choices, no romances, etc, I kinda lost interest. SWTOR is online but still has all the aspects of Bioware in a lot of ways. Lots of choices to do, see your character constantly in action, romances, in some cases with more depth than some of their other games. Anthem combat looks really great here and the animations and action. But the world still feels uninteresting to me, characters don’t appear very interesting so far. For all its faults, Destiny still had the strength I feel of its visual direction. The enviroments look creatively design there, different races to play and meet, etc. I hope they surprise us in the end, but so far I still don’t see where this might go. |

The vanilla game is all hetero bunch, but the expansions have some m/m and f/f bi characters. Theron and Lana being the one with the most content, are major stars of most of these expansions. This is one of the reasons I fell in love with the game, because my male romance was really active in the plot of the game for so long, my character and him go through so much together and see their relationship evolve. And it made me really understand why having an m/m squadmate was so important. Being a gay jedi has been a dream come true.  Anyway on Anthem because this is an Anthem thread lmao im sorry. Anthem has a lot of potential but I still don’t understand what they are going for it, it seems to have limited story but is only pve, it wont have any pvp component to it. Like what do they plan to make people play pve without enough story. I mean I hope im wrong and they are just really bad at explaining the game and it has a lot of story content. But I feel they been keeping a lot under wraps for a game coming on february hmm. |
