So GM1 wasn't bad at all. It feels like the right difficulty. I can tell GM2 is gonna be a pain in the ass.

Got 4 masterworks in 1 stronghold run, curious to see how the loot increase will work out.

Pretty beefy patch dropped today, hopefully fixed the more glaring issues.

Looks like they fixed a lot of stuff but can't seem to figure the loot out for whatever reason. Damn.
Edit seems things are worse. I don't know why I can't stop playing this beautiful disaster.

Hahaha, I'm betting that the system that handles loot is a messy patchwork and they just have keep tugging at the edges until it works out

One friken stronghold would have told them this shit was broke.

This game has become a meme. This patch was supposed to be the chosen one but it proves the core structure of this game is rotten beyond repair. A lot of people who wanted to give it a last shot have seen there is no fixing this thing now unless they rebuild the core supports from scratch. What a sad, sad joke this turned out to be. I know I said it before but this was my last straw. If they ever rebuild the game I might come back but this game is dead to me as of right now.
Also like seriously, if this was the A team working on this God help Dragon Age 4.

One person on Reddit said they are putting Bioware QA tester on their resume from playing anthem. Meme status is official.

I don’t like this type of articles cuz ultimately I feel it can do more harm than good for the employees as it can cause more people getting fired with things like this seeing the light of day.
But its out there, can’t really stop it and honestly I’m not really surprised at all by any of it. They got fed up with the idea of being the “main” part of Bioware, the true core team and ended up delivering a product that made Andromeda shine more next to it. Like seriously, not taking advice from the Austin team that works already on an online service game and not wanting to learn from other games in the market either.

The biggest problem is they are refusing to up the loot. That is literally what the majority of people quitting want. It's a pride issue at this point. So didn't really start development until 18 months before launch. Now why does that sound so familiar?

This article is actually quite interesting. I wonder who's the real problem there. EA or BW? Because it looks like EA was concerned for BW's employees and it was better for as long as EA wanted those health reports from the team.

everybodys so eager to blame ea for everything everytime Well, they don't have such bad reputation without any reason. They did rush ME3 too much, it's a fact confirmed by one of the ex devs. But this time it really looks like EA were the good ones (maybe they learned something when ME3's ending caused such crapstorm?) when BW seems to be the bad one. And it looks like their problems started during DAI production. I'm quite shocked, in a negative way. And I can't hold EA responsible for MEA's bad start anymore. If BW's employees wish for the company to go to hell for so long then it's no wonder they released a new game from one of the most beloved series the way they did.

Ehh, reading the entire article, tbh it seems it was both EA and Bioware. Though Bioware mismanagement, studio in-fighting and leadership unwilling to listen to feedback takes the brunt of Anthem's issues in my opinion. EA on the other hand, took experienced Frostbite engineers OFF Anthem and put them on FIFA, knowing the game needed all the help it could get??? That, mixed with Frostbite making the devs miserable in general...not a pretty picture. EA needs to get rid of the mandated "Everyone must use Frostbite no matter what".
So I don't think in this case it's a question of "which one was it?" I'd go with BOTH.

It also seemed like EA let BW putz around from 2012 to 2016 on Anthem with nothing to show for it and only got concerned after playing a terrible demo. Overall it seems like BW messed up pretty terribly and the only people who saved Anthem from being even worse were the low tier workers and Darrah who was... on the team for like a year and a half. Frostbite still sounds like BW can’t figure it out though, and that is an EA problem as that it s their pride and joy, but even DAI still managed to be an okay game on frostbite. ALso that article never makes it clear if Anthem was originally an EA or BW idea.

ALso that article never makes it clear if Anthem was originally an EA or BW idea. If they could've done great with DAI (it won GOTY after all) then they should've done great with MEA and Anthem too. And yet they didn't, so Frostbite to me is not the main problem, just a scapegoat. BW said way before that they were given a free hand with Anthem. EA respected it. So Anthem's failure is not EA's fault. Anthem is what BW wanted to do, not EA. EA has Apex, they don't even need Anthem.

God, can you imagine going to work every day on a game that doesn't even have a real concept for over 5 years? Like what even would that be like. "I'm designing people today...are there people in this game?"

So Anthem's failure is not EA's fault. Anthem is what BW wanted to do, not EA. EA has Apex, they don't even need Anthem. Yeah. I really don’t want to believe it, so I put some of the EA centered possibilities but.... unless we are missing things it is pretty much bioware’s leads that messed up. We kinda heard that about MEA too but never so clearly. the biggest question I want answered is that the article says DAI development was a nightmare but never really explains, and I am kind of curious as to why. Were there articles anywhere on that anyone can remember? it is also kind of troubling that if Anthem really was a BW passion project, that they had no clear vision on it, and that vagueness ended up not only messing Anthem up but upending production on DA4. which is a repeating trend with current BW. MEA was originally going to be a procedurally generated game for years and had to be redesigned well into development. The story with that seems to be they really wanted to do it that way, but later realized it messed with story telling and quality. Then with Anthem it seems like gameplay was what they focused on first, had nothing for years, then designed a game around a mechanic and stretched a thin story premise around the game. It’s like some key people are subconsciously resisting the BW as a good story teller image and purposefully trying to design games that buck story concerns for as long as possible. which is why I really want to know if any juice has been spilled about DAI’s development, because I can speculate about n some places it feels like the gameplay does not dovetail nicely with the core story, but that could be for any number of reasons.
