Fixed inconsistency in mother/father choice during the intro. You know how forgetful Dads can be but that was a bit much. Further evidence that the dead husband choice was added after people complained. They missed a few spots where the game still thought you had a wife. No, the game thought you had a husband. Also, someone want to point out to me when anyone said Joseph was gay? I get why everyone assumed he would be before the game came out, but I think he's actually bisexual. Not sure why y'all are convinced otherwise. |

She still goes to college, but apparently she didn't try harder at school like she normally does and she's sick of dadsona always hovering around her. She makes it sound like she is gonna be distant from then on (or at least for a while). It wasn't that bad-hell might even be good for some people who thought Amanda was around too much. -shrug- |

I liked that Amanda had her own storyline and I think it worked well to act as the B story between all the daddy dating. But I agree she was around a bit too much. She could have shown up in fewer of the dates, IMO. And perhaps our dad's reliance on her for all social interactions contributed to me seeing him as a bit of a dull character without a lot of outside interests.
Amanda was a lot more bearable than Ernest would have been as the PC's kid, IMO. I'd rather have chipper Diablo Cody than stereotypical angsty teen.

I haven't played the game really, but just from watching the story-I thought Amanda was fine. It's sort of a necessary evil to have a kid in a game about daddies dating daddies. She actually made me laugh a number of times.

I already put this game in the garbage because of their devs and gay rep obscurity, but I totally think the daughter is cool and one of the few things the game gets right to be honest, I love how supportive she is with his father.

Aww, I loved Amanda. I thought the story about her relationship with your Dadsona was super sweet and cute, and while they sometimes hit that point of 'how do you do fellow kids' with her writing, they didn't go completely overboard, which is difficult to do. Looking at you, Life is Strange.

I like Amanda. I wouldn't have minded more scenes with her, to be honest. I wanted to see her interact more with Hazel and Briar. But I also wanted more alone time with Craig, like a lot more. All in all, the game was too short, so I get that people were frustrated that a lot of the limited time we had was spent on being a dad rather than dating a dad.

Amanda herself is fine, I guess, and I actually did get a bit of feels over her big reveal because I had almost exactly the same thing happen to me during my senior year of high school, but the ratio of her compared to dating is just way to fucking high to not irritate me.

I guess my favorable opinion of Amanda has to do with the fact that I dated Craig. When you break down Craig's path, Amanda isn't very intrusive at all.
Meeting Craig: Amanda is present when meeting every dad except Hugo and Robert. Craig's is so short that it doesn't matter if Amanda is there or not.
Bonus Date: Craig is actually lucky in that the player can do a bonus scene with him that I don't think any other character gets unless you count Robert's intro scene as being longer than others and can lead to a one night stand. Amanda stays home.
Barbecue: Amanda pops up in most conversations, but it's usually really brief.
Date #1: Amanda is there for the first half, but it's the only scene where she meets Hazel and Briar before the final party.
Date #2: Amanda stays home.
Date #3: Amanda stays home.
Graduation Party: It's a scene about Amanda mostly, but you interact with all the dads, and it ends with Craig becoming your boyfriend.
So of the three official date scenes, Amanda is there for a little more than half a scene. That's about a 1/6 ratio. Add in the unofficial bonus date, and the ratio becomes 1/8. River has a much bigger presence in terms of Craig's dates than Amanda does, but she doesn't talk, and Amanda does have scenes at home.
